I read the reviews for Cedar Upper before booking and I was still amazed at how large the floorplan feels. The view was absolutely breathtaking. If you are looking to stay at a high altitude look no further this paticular property is just about as high as you can get! It definately felt like a home away from home. Every aspect of my stay was perfect. You could easily have enough room for 6 and still not feel cramped as there are 2 living areas and and a private balcony for each of the 3 bedrooms.I was looking for the perfect Rocky Mountain expirience and I am pretty sure I found it. It is the perfect place to begin your day with Coffee or coco on the veranda watching the sun come up over the mountains or to end it with a snuggle by the fire or a relaxing dip in the jacuzzi. I am certain that I will return with more family members! Definately Grab a bite to eat at the Dunraven inn at the bottom of the Hill. It was The most delicious food we had during our stay. For a Sinful treat drop by the Estes Park Pie Shop in downtown Estes. They Really do Have the BEST cinnamon rolls I have ever tasted and My husband says the apple, cranberry and pear pie was spot on too!!

does it get much better than this? Why go anywhere when you can have such a view 24/7?
A roomy, spacious condo with all the comforts....hot tub, fireplace, plenty of space, plenty of firewood, hummingbirds, deer, birds close enough to touch..........a personal waterfall..........and outdoor grilling.
thanks Windcliff.

Most pictures make a property look good. We were
pleasantly surprised to discover the house was far
better than shown. A photo cannot capture the
awesome sweeping view. Our kids ran from room to
room declaring them all first class. The layout of
the plan provides for relaxed sociabilty.

Staying at Cedar Upper gives the term "Rocky Mountain High" new
meaning! Even though we used to live in Colorado and are used to mountain
roads, the steep switchbacks up to the property were intimidating at first.
We got used to the road fairly quickly and became quite attached to our
unparalleled view of Long's peak that made it seem as though we could
reach out right off our deck and touch the mountain. The property itself is
beautiful with three gorgeous decks and huge windows. Our only problem
was that we loved watching the moon sailing over Long's Peak at night from
our beds so much that we did not want to sleep. One night while we were
there the entire hillside erupted with coyotes howling and a few minutes
later a tremendous lightning storm erupted on Long's Peak. We sat and
watched the unbelievable balls of fire and tremendous lighting streaks from
our living room, knowing that this was a once in a lifetime memory for us
and our children.
The house itself had everything we needed including an unusually well-
supplied kitchen. The staff at Windcliff are very friendly and incredibly
helpful. The only drawback is that with Cedar Lower just underneath it
sometimes feels a bit like you are overlapping, especially when the Cedar
Lower guests are in their hot tub and you can hear conversations unless you
close the windows to the overlooking rooms. It would be perfect for a
family reunion or group of friends to rent out both the upper and lower
units for a large gathering. We travel back to the mountains of Rocky
Mountain National Park once a year to recharge, relax, and hike to our
heart's content. We are already planning our trip for next year and hope to
be able to stay in Cedar Upper again. It was truly an incredible experience!

The best vacation rental EVER!!!!!!! Cedar Upper has a spectacular view from every window and deck. The hot tub was a terrific touch at the end of a long day of hiking. The living room and den were spacious and comfortable, as were the 3 bedrooms. The staff was courteous, helpful, and most congenial. They attended to our every need. I cannot recommend this rental highly enough. (Guess the secret's out)

For a brief 3 day "Off-Off/Value Season" stay in Estes Park, we couldn't have been happier with our experience. The views from Cedar Upper were AMAZING!!! That might be an understatement! The Continental Divide and mountain range had so many moods: pictures of the view were non-stop.
Our 12 month old daughter was content exploring the home, and we felt safe letting her since there were no open stairwells or other major accident prone objects. If you're visiting in the winter, the hot tub outside is a Must. Perfect after hiking in the RMNP~ Our little 3 person family had more than enough room to spread out, and all the amenities that we needed.
A few things to know/remember:
1. There's a convenient washer/dryer.
2. Cedar Upper is at a high elevation- put a towel over everything you open that is sealed. We had a few surprises with even our water bottles.
3. If you want to eat out, but don't want to drive all the way to town, there's a nice Italian steakhouse near the creek at the bottom of the hill- yum!
4. Cedar Upper parks on the Right in the garage.
All in all, we loved our stay and wish it would've lasted longer. If we're ever in the area again, we will ABSOLUTELY stay here again.

It had been years since we stayed at Windcliff, and we see now how much we?ve been missing ? the awesome views, the excellent accommodations, and the peaceful quietness of the area. The upper Cedar was perfect for us, and both we and the kids loved the whole experience of its space, light, and views. The hot tub was great, especially when it was snowing in the evening. We?ll be returning to this home, and much sooner this time!

The house is high up on the mountain and we felt like we were on top of the world - very relaxing and quiet. We could never stay anywhere else in Estes Park! Thank you to the wonderful staff at Windcliff - always polite and very helpul. We hope to be back again in 2009.

I would like to personally thank the owner and staff for making our stay very comfortable. We thouroughly enjoyed every part of it. The view is just awesome! When we all walked in our condo, we all were pretty excited, even the grandkids at ages 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 years old. They ran around like wildcats for a while with all the space we had. Christmas morning was the most memorable I have had. Thanks Again!

We really enjoyed our stay at Windcliff. Upper Cedar had a fantastic view, more than enough room, so very, very comfortable and cozy. Very clean, older unit, but that did not matter one bit. The off season price was very reasonable. We really couldn't wait to come back every night. I really want to go back, and would not consider staying anywhere else. Thank you, it was great!

We learned of the Windcliff properties through the Estes Park Visitors Center.

This amazing vacation rental is within a one hour drive of our home, we have stayed at the Cedar Upper residence four times; just the two of us on three occassions, and during our last stay we invited family from Nebraska, and Michigan. The views from this property is absolutly breathtaking. (our guest were totally spellbound)
