A Charming Week of Relaxation |

| TVR was extremely accommodating. This was our 2nd time renting through them and we felt very welcome. The home was very nicely furnished, very clean & a short walk to the beach, restaurants & shopping. I think my favorite 2 things about the home were the location & all the little unexpected amenities throughout the home that made our stay even more relaxing, like sunscreen & bug spray by the door & a bag full of goodies waiting for us in the kitchen. Really, the only thing I didn't like was the amount of mosquitoes both inside & outside our place. With the heavy rains & a rain catch right outside our door, I had the most mosquito bites I've ever had. Withstanding that minor detail, we would definitely go back & stay in Island Retreat again. It was absolutely wonderful!! |

For over a decade, my husband and I have been coming to Tybee for its
natural beauty and pace of life. The people we meet (time and again) are
genuinely charming. The homes we've rented have been ideal.
This year, we stayed at Island Retreat as repeat customers of Tybee
Vacation Rentals; our experience far surpassed our expectations. Every
practical convenience was made available to us. And the home was truly
lovely.
As the mother of a three year old (who has not completely lost her lust for
luxury), the apartment was a perfect combination of home-style amenities
and aesthetic details. Comfortable beds, tasteful art, equipped kitchen,
children's movies, cozy patio, gorgeous landscape, extra towels and
linens... I didn't use the flat screen T.V. in the master bedroom but I
cherished the stacked washer and dryer in the walk-in closet. The only
thing I enjoyed more than our lodgings was the beach itself.
The beach is why we come. If I try to describe it, you might imagine any
other beach in the world. But given the chance to sit across from Little
Tybee at sunset, before the sky erupts under pressure from a passing
storm, you will certainly understand why my family and I drive 745 miles to
be restored by the Island's magic.
Take my advise: eat at Sundae Cafe, drink at Huckapoo's, trust TVR and
above all, look around. Tybee Island is, most likely, the very treasure itself,
that Captain Flint has made so famous.

Island Retreat not such a Retreat |

| The location of the house was very convenient. It was walking distance from the beach and shopping stores. We had a good time walking and riding our bikes each day. The worst part was the cleanliness of the house. You could not walk barefoot without getting your feet completely black. The tile appeared to have not been cleaned in a while. The bathroom needs updating. The tile in the shower needs cleaning and there was little water pressure. The house was infested with the biggest roaches my family has ever seen. We were disgusted with finding so many. In one of the beds, my husband kept getting bit by unknown creatures. He would wake up each morning to discover a new bite. We were very scared we would bring some of these creatures back in our suitcases. Luckily we searched our bags and emptied them in the driveway and sprayed our house inside and outside to help prevent these creatures from living with us. If the house had a decent cleaning staff and an exterminator, it would be a much better place to spend a vacation. In addition to the above problems, the people who live upstairs were noisy. They kept odd hours and you could hear them stomping at all hours of the day and night. We would not stay here again. We visit Tybee a lot and like the fact this place had wifi. That was the major reason we chose this place. The other condo we usually stay in is much more desirable, well kept and clean. |

| Wow! What a shock to have such a negative review! Island Retreat has hosted hundreds of families over the last 11 years - many of our guests come back every year and absolutely adore both the property and the owner who lives upstairs. The house is cleaned and updated regularly, and rarely is there a single complaint. The beds are premium mattresses just upgraded last summer and our guests absolutely love them! As for the bugs - yes Tybee does have some rather large palmetto bugs that can be quite scary. They can get in to any property - old or new, and we locals unfortunately have learned to live with them. We also have mosquitoes especially in the summer time which may explain the bites. All bedding and floors are regularly sanitized and we assure our guests that the Island Retreat is a clean and comfortable place to call home. The owner of TVR, lives upstairs and she is very mindful of her guests' comfort. Being on the lower level does mean that you have someone above you at times - your ceiling is their floor. Noise complaints are not common, and we are sorry that this guest was disturbed. For guests wanting complete solitude, there are a several single family cottages around the island, but normally the cost is at a higher price point. Cost is one of the many attractive features of the Island Retreat - it's rented a bargain price and most guests are extremely pleased with the return in value and comfort. |

| Tybee Vacation Rentals rocks! I loved the fact that I was able to view pictures of all the rentals online and make my decision. From the moment I called to make my reservation, it was smooth sailing. The staff were very gracious and friendly. Island Retreat was perfect! Cute, quiet, with every kitchen appliance you need. The walk to the beach wasnt bad, and lots of restaurants and shops were within walking distance. My kids cant wait to come back, and 12 and 14 yr. olds are pretty hard to please. We will definitely be back next year! Thanks Amy and crew, you have our business from now on! |

| The Island Retreat was the ideal spot for us and felt like a home away from home. It was cool and comfortable. We enjoyed grilling out and dining on the patio and having drinks with Amy and Kathy upstairs - great southern hospitality. Went fishing with Kathy and Miss Judy and had a blast. We liked being able to use their beach chairs and the outdoor shower if we wanted, and even cooked with fresh herbs from Amy's patio garden too! We had everything we needed and more. We rented bikes from Tim who lives right across the street and rode everywhere our entire vacation. The location is safe and relaxing - close to the main beach but set back enough so it is quiet and out of the hustle and bustle. We parked our car and did not get in it the whole week which is why we love coming to Tybee. We will definitely return to Tybee and the Island Retreat, only problem is that a week is not long enough! |

This is our 2nd year renting and next year will be our 3rd. As a former Outer Banks vacationer Tybee Island has less traffic, a slower pace and a friendly year round community.
The house was a real jewel, better than I imagined. Completely stocked and very homey. You only need a beach towel and bathing suit. Everything was within walking distance and bikes are a must which were easy to rent and deliverd to the house.
Tybee Vacation Rntals takes excellent care of you and the house was immaculate. My only regret is not living there year round.

| This was a great location and very family friendly with the exception of not having a bathtub, which was a slight challenge with a small child (and lots of sand). Very cozy and comfortable home, convenient to many activities. We were only sorry it wasn't warm enough for us to try to the outdoor shower! |
