Wonderful stay on the Big Island! |

| The condo at Hali'i Kai was beautiful and we loved the great kitchen appliances, washer/dryer and compliment of pool and beach "toys". The grounds and pool are fantastic, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. The only things missing were minor, a bbq would have been nice as would a table with four chairs for outdoor dining - but as I say these were minor and all of these are available for use at the pool area. Views were unbeatable and the location was perfect! Thanks so much for a memorable stay! |

Magnificent place to stay on the Big Island. |

The service provided went perfectly. Our calls were returned and the few minor issues resolved quickly. The home had more than we expected. All the comforts you get at home and beach supplies that came in handy. The location was #1; we determined that after we stayed there. The oceanfront view, steps from the pool and tennis court. The chef, food and staff at the pool was great. We ate many mahi-mahi salads for lunch....my husband enjoyed the maitais as well.
What I liked best was the location and quiet private feeling of being in building 14. What I liked least was having to drive through all the shops and other resorts to get to the highway but we understand a road is being built to by-pass that. We highly recommend staying at Hali'i Kai. If 14C (downstairs, two bedroom) is not available, we would certainly stay at other units. There are no elevators, so if you stay on a second floor unit the only way up is stairs. |

Absolutely beautiful |

This condo has a perfect location, beautiful furnishings, fixtures and amenities. There was a small bbq which we used many times,
backpack lawn-chairs that we took to the black sand beach nearby,
and all the comforts one would want. Every morning I had coffee with hundreds of whales, and in the evening with a mai-tai on the perfect
lanai. The pool area was busy but we usually managed to get a
lounger.
The only complaint had to do with the extremely disrespectful people
above us. There was a fairly large group as the unit is 3 bedrooms.
They had little kids who would run through the condo and stomp on
the floor. Jumping from furniture and stairs. I had to buy earplugs to
sleep till 7 am and the evenings were unbearable. If the unit was not
so beautiful we would have asked to be moved to a top floor unit. This
is a chance you take when renting a bottom floor unit but one we will
not take again. |

Great Views |

We spent 10 days at the Halii Kai resort travelling with another couple. The 2 bedroom condo was just large enough for us - although one couple ends up with a much smaller space than the other...
The view at 14C is amazing though and makes up for any small shortcomings. You can sit out on the lanai and watch whales and dolphins in very quiet surroundings.
(The units seem fairly soundproof - we didn't hear much noise from above or beside.)
The unit is very well equipped and a pleasure to cook in. The pool area is quite well kept and pleasant to lounge around.
My only complaint is that we would have liked 4 smaller chairs and a table on the lanai so we could eat outdoors - the bulky ones we had were OK, but only if there were 2 people in the home. Also, it would be appreciated if Abbey or the owners would supply adequate dishwasher soap/kitchen garbage bags for people on short term stay (less than a month) as these are required to keep the unit tidy as is expected. They can be purchased and refilled in bulk quantities at Costco, but are fairly pricy to buy in smaller amounts at the local grocery store.
Overall, though, this is a great place to go for a quiet vacation. Lots of people with young kids, but not nearly the zoo that is the nearby Hilton area! It was an easy place to walk, jog, play golf or tennis. The marketplace in Queen's had excellent quality groceries & wine/beer, although for more 'normal' type stuff you would be better off in Kona or at the market at Mauna Lani.
We also enjoyed the nearby beach at A-Bay (behind Queen's marketplace)- a short drive away or you could walk there in 1/2 hour or so if you chose. |

| Hali'i Kai - was a beautiful vacation spot - waking every morning to see whales swimming by. It truly was a paradise that we enjoyed. THe room was very comfortable and the facilities were awesome - I am counting the days until we can return |
