With the shared pool, gated community and off street parking the Windward park townhomes offer amenities that will make the difference in a true vacation experience and experiencing your everyday life in another city.The Southern Wind initially welcomes you with a large private shady deck and outdoor dining area. Once inside the traditional architecture gives you an open floor plan with hardwood floors and large windows to bring in the tropical sun. Downstairs is the kitchen, living, dining area and a full bath. Upstairs are two bedrooms and a full bath. Decorated with colors and styles of old Florida with splashes of the color that surrounds us in the tropical paradise.. Relax around the sun soaked pool, stroll down the streets lined with shady banyan trees, and enjoy the vacation you deserve with a great spot to all call home. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the amenities of home. Downstairs you will find a dining table indoors as well. The living room has a queen sleeper sofa, love seat TV, VCR, DVD and stereo. There is also a full bath located on this floor. The largest private deck in the Park offers you room to dine alfresco.Bedding: K/K/Qsleeper Maximum occupancy of 4 people strictly enforced

| We love this property---we've rented it twice. The complex is very quiet, the pool is relaxing (usually empty too), and the kitchen is very well stocked for meals at home. |

We would definately recommend staying at this property. The home was very nice and the location was great, within walking distance of Duval Street. This was a great value compared to a hotel. The downstairs shower is wonderful!
Problems we encountered was that the property had not been cleaned from the previous tenant when we arrived, but the agency got someone there right away, so we explored for a couple of hours while it was being cleaned. The cleaning person may have been in a bit of a hurry though - the floors could have used a little more attention. The only other recommendations we could make as far as the property itself is they should keep the gas bottle for the grill filled and it would be helpful to guests to have some maps, brochures and coupons available. There was also no dish soap. Other vacation rentals we have stayed at also provided a journal for guests to write in about their experience in the area.
If you have never been to the Keys before, be prepared, food and drink are very expensive. You also might want to budget for scooter or electric car rental - there's a place right across the street from the property to rent them. Once you park your car, you won't want to move it. To see all of Duval and the surrounding area, you're going to get really tired of walking. Also, if you have small children, I would not recommend taking them down Duval after dark - it's not particularly dangerous, but they might be exposed to some adult behavior that's really not appropriate for little ones.
If and when we return to stay in Key West, we would most likely rent this property again.

| I have to be honest, I would like to keep this secret to myself! However, if you are looking for a relaxing holiday that is far enough from the action to be peaceful by day, but close enough to enjoy everything you might look for in the night life(it is a small island afterall :) this is a gem. The tasteful decor is quite remarkable for a rental unit. From the helpful staff of the HomeAway office to the well appointed home it is hard to think of something I would change...except maybe the roosters that live behind the units and don't understand we would like to sleep past 7am! I am getting ready to book our third year in a row in this unit...hope you love it as much as we do! |

Despite Tropical Storm Faye's arrival during our stay, we had a wonderful time at Southern Wind. At Home in Key West was very accomodating in allowing us to ride out the storm...and we were so glad we did! This townhome is private and secluded yet very close to all Old Town attractions. We have stayed in Key West hotels many times before. This townhome offered so much more at a comparable price. We cannot wait to come back!
We miss our kitty that greeted us daily on our private porch! |

| This condo, one of 13 units is in the perfect location for being a part of Old Town Key West. Not far from Duval, island transportation by scooter, bike or electric car rentals are near by. Plus a CVS that has anything you may need is in the next block! The condo itself is nice with both bedrooms upstairs with king beds. Most ammenties are up to date; but could use additional plastic cups and plates. We like the location of the unit away from the courtyard, with a nice shaded deck. The common area is great with a pool to share with the other units. Reserve early or you will miss out on a terrific experience! |
