We have been renting from San Carlos for 6 years now; their service has always been terrific. We've stayed in 3 of their properties, all of which have been very clean upon arrival. If we have any problems, San Carlos takes care of them immediately...while taking into consideration our schedule and privacy. We've stayed in the "Stras" property for the past 3 years because we feel it is the nicest rental property that also allows a dog, and we really appreciate being able to have our golden retriever with us in such a dog-friendly town. The home is very "Carmel-ish"...a comfortable cottage with painted murals, slanted ceilings, lovely yard and garden, comfortable furniture, and an ocean view from the upstairs office area. The location is excellent...2 blocks from town and 6 blocks to the beach. Both the owners and San Carlos have taken suggestion cards seriously and supplied a new mattress, coffee maker, hand mixer, etc. to make the renter's experience more enjoyable. My only negative comment is that there is too much "stuff" (nic-nacs) in the house and we don't have access to the lower level room. My husband wishes the upstair's bath had a real (stand up)shower over the tub. My favorite room in the house is the master bedroom with the "sky" ceiling, painting of nuns on the beach, and an extra double bed for our 2 granddaughters to sleep in when they come to visit. We have booked this house again for next year and hope to continue to rent it every July for as long as possible. We love Carmel!

We stayed at the Strassburger House and had a wonderful stay. It was clean, well furnished and larger than it appeared. We would highly recommend it to anyone who would like a wonderful stay close to Ocean Blvd in the village and only six blocks from the Ocean. More...
