Vacation Rental Description
One of the most unique living experiences "Up North." Octagon-shaped main house has floor-to-ceiling windows that give you a breathtaking view of the forest that surrounds the house and lines the beautiful coastline of Lake Michigan.
A full wood deck surrounds the main house that provides plenty of room for enjoying the scenery and wildlife and gazing at the stars. Main house also includes full-size sofa bed that sleeps two. Main house includes a private outdoor shower ideal for rinsing off "the beach."
House/deck is connected to the smaller guest house with a much larger deck that features a generous eating area with gas grill, large picnic table, chairs and umbrella.
Guest House is an ideal sleeping area for extra guests or children with two large bedrooms, "family room," its own bathroom, miniature refrigerator and TV. Family room also contains "trundle bed" that sleeps two.
Rent includes access to a Private Beach within walking distance of the house (private beach parking also included).

Quiet Get A Way filled with Family |

We vacationed with 5 teenagers so the "guest house" was perfect for them to hang out without the adults but still where we could keep an eye out on them. It was "kid friendly" where I wasn't worried about them breaking anything while they were wrestling around. We enjoyed the beach that was within walking distance and the people "in town" where very friendly at the general store.
The house had enough beds to sleep everyone. The kitchen was very small and the smaller house smelled meldowy due to all the rain the week previous. The TVs didn't work and besides the beach and the grounds there wasn't a lot of things for the kids to do so they were alittle bored at times. The supplies were very thin at the end of the week to accomodate 8 people. There was supposed to be a mini frig in the small house and there wasn't and there was supposed to be a gas grill and it was charcoal. A couple of small inconveniences. The rate was different on the website after we booked the house and the agent wasn't willing to help out on that issue so we felt alittle taken advantage of on that. We picked up our keys at the after hours site and never heard from anyone again after that. We left our comment card there, left a note of our issues with the stay and still haven't heard anything back from the booking agents.
We did enjoy the area and would recommend staying in Michigan again, we would just prefer to stay somewhere else. Maybe next time right on the lakeside or closer to more amentities. |
