Pagosa Riviera in the fall was a long weekend of perfection, the place to feel as though we were far away yet with every amenitie possible.

The unit is positioned to provide maximum privacy both inside and out, with views of the river and the mountains. Within the unit itself, the kitchen is first class as well as the expandable dining areas, with both a large dining room table or bar seating. Bedrooms are private and quiet -- and while the unit could sleep many more people, it seemed particularly ideal for one or two couples. Bathrooms are well appointed, clean, and generously equipped with thick high quality towels and hot showers with good shower heads.

As runners, the walking path nearby provided a place to run along the river. We walked to town and had proximity to the charming town, restaurants, grocery stores, and the hot springs. An added benefit was the hot tub in the garage -- an odd location, but again the privacy was lovely and we could look out at the stars without having to walk outside.

This was an absolutely wonderful place to say. Not only were the views
fantastic, but the house itself was spacious, wildly cozy and comfortable,
and beautifully decorated. Because the house is so large, there is a lot of
privacy, even for a group. The kitchen is great with every appliance and
gadget you could ever need. It is a real "cook's" kitchen, and the open floor
plan allows the cook(s) a view of the living room (with a fireplace, flat
screen television, and balcony.)

The most amazing feature of this house is its proximity to the river. The
house is literally inches from the water. The sound of the water, especially
when the river is running high, is amazing. The best places in the house to
experience the river are the master bedroom (huge--with its own fireplace,
flat screen, sitting area, and amazing bathroom), the dining area, and the
balcony. The dining table is quite large and surrounded by windows, and
the entire space seems to jut out over the river.

Even with all of the above, a "best part" remains: it feels like home. This is
not a typical vacation rental. The design, the amenities (very plush towels,
great mattresses, all that kitchen stuff), and the furnishings are all top
quality. (And, yet, everything is quite durable.) It is well located, only a
short walk to downtown Pagosa Springs with its hot springs, massages, and
a fabulous bakery for lunch. The only negative of the place is leaving.
