Vacation Rental Description
Caretta Cottage is a classic 1950's ground level cottage ideal for families, girls getaway weekends or just the two of you! Because the cottage is ground level, this makes it very easy for seniors to get around and be part of your family vacation. Pet Friendly with a very large fenced in yard both front and back allows kids and dogs to run and play. All type s of pets are welcome . As with all our cottages, we offer complimentary high speed internet service and WiFi. The master bedroom also has it's own masterbathroom.... lots of space, excellent tub, really special! We are also proud to be the home for "Tiffany Turtle" which was a highlight of the Tybee Turtle Tour which raised money for the Tybee Island Marine Science Center and the Tybee Art Association. She lives on the screened porch and the cottage was named after her. Caretta means Sea Turtle! The cottage is full of local art from Tybee Artists including turtle art of all types.

Mermaid Cottages provided excellent customer service.
They were very friendly and helpful. We loved Caretta
Cottage - it was so cute and the updated bathrooms
and kitchen were wonderful. We also enjoyed the
screened porch. The location was great because it was
a short walk to the beach and restaurants & shops.
Also, it was an easy drive to Savannah. Overall, we
loved our stay on Tybee Island and would definitely
rent from Mermaid Cottages again! |

| We were there for a special occasion and we loved every minute. The cottage is beautiful! We really loved being on a back street. It was quiet, but yet really close to everything. I think we enjoyed the porch the most! We sat out there and read and ate a lot of our meals at the picnic table. What a treat! I would definitely stay at this cottage again! Oh, it has a killer shower!!! |

| We had a really nice experience with Mermaid Cottages. The staff was very professional and helpful. We stayed at the Caretta Cottage and really liked it. It was even nicer than the pictures showed. Everything was very clean and in good working order. A REALLY nice master suite had been added on to the home. Location was in a nice, quiet neighborhood. We would definitely stay with Mermaid cottages again. |

| Amazing house. We are looking forward to staying there again. The theme of the turtles was a great conversation piece. Walking distance to the pier and night life. We had a lot of fun. Definitely another will be spent there. |

We stayed at the Caretta Cottage for a girl's trip (little and big girls) and everyone really loved the cottage. It is very quaint and just 3 blocks from the beach. It was even stocked with nice smelling soaps and bath bubbles which really impressed the little girls. Stocked coffee and tea was also very nice.
The only thing that could have been improved at all was the outdoor shower. It had very little water pressure and could have been a little cleaner. But that wouldn't keep me from staying there again. |

| Caretta Cottage was the perfect spot for a mini get-a-way. Two of my brothers and my sister-in-law, along with me and my dog stayed for a couple of days of fishing. We loved the bright carribean colors and the turtle theme throughout the cottage. Tiffany Tutle (artwork on the screened in porch) was especially lovely when lit up at night. Since we were only there for a short time, we really appreciated the complementary coffee and tea service. My early riser (5:15 a.m.) dog and I enjoyed the fenced in back yard outside the master suite without disturbing the rest of the family. We hope to visit Caretta Cottage again in the very near future. |

| We just can't say enough about Caretta Cottage! They really couldn't have made things easier. We had our very own "concierge", Barbara, who was available anytime to answer any questions we had, not only about the cottage, but about the area. We can't thank her enough for all of her help!There was a wonderful book provided which also had LOTS of information about where to go, what to do, and whom to contact. The cottage was cute as could be, but extremely comfortable! The master bath made us feel spoiled, and all of the appliances were top of the line. The cottage is a few short blocks from the beach. The first day we drove to the beach but parking was difficult, so after that we just walked, which was a total breeze! I think our favorite part was sitting out on the screened porch in the mornings and evenings just relaxing, and watching our doggy run about in the yard playing! I would certainly recommend this cottage to anyone! |

My mom and I went to Tybee Island for our joint birthday celebration, and we loved everything about it! It was as if we had been transported back to Key West or the Florida Coast, pre-Disney! Wonderful little cottages, and we adored Caretta Cottage. It was perfect for the two of us...close to the beach and the main road, but on a quiet street. The cottage was absolutely spotless, with a wonderful bathroom and fabulous kitchen. Mermaid Rentals is the best. They helped my cousin deliver surprise birthday balloons, and they checked with us to make sure that we had everything that we needed.
One more thing, we loved that Savannah was 10 minutes away. We visited Savannah in the morning or went there for dinner, and they returned to our little oasis, Caretta Cottage. Also, make sure that you get breakfast at the Breakfast Club on Tybee, well worth the wait.
Only one thing could have made this vacation better - if I owned Caretta Cottage. However, we will be back next May to enjoy it once again!

Me and four other ladies rented the Caretta Cottage for my daughters bachlorette get away. It was great fun, the house was brightly decorated with a beachy theme that we all loved. The modern upgrades to an older cinderblock home made it feel more like a 4 star hotel without all the hussle and bussle of the other quests. I'd rate it a 5 star if it were beach front.
We rented bikes the whole time we were there and we never onced needed the vehicle we came in. The Beach was beautiful, the bar life was fun, lots of little gift shops to tour and the locals were all really friendly.
Great place to stay and a great little island to explore. I only wish we could of stayed longer.

My husband and I stayed at the Caretta Cottage over our 40th wedding anniversary. The cottage was beautiful! We couldn't have asked for more. It was very well taken care of. The cottage was clean, lovely applicances and decorations. We especially loved Tiffany Turtle. We will definitely return!!!

| My 5 friends and I enjoyed this cottage at the beach even though it was cold. We were able to catch up and relax. The beach house offers plenty of space, an up to date kitchen, and lots of personality. Everything you want to do is in walking distance, the beach, shop, resturants. I would recommend a stay for a family or a group of friends. |

| We found the house to be very clean and attractively decorated. The master bedroom and bath are particularly nice. The middle bedroom is situated as a comfy tv room but using the sofa bed there would be a little inconvenient as you must pass thru this room to get to the master bedroom. Otherwise, we would highly recommend for future rentals. |
