Built in the 14th century, this apartment is an old stone building in the heart of Cortona. Much like a home, this apartment has an on-street entrance with several windows in front and along one side. Lovingly refurbished over several years... by the owner, with respect to the traditional Tuscan style, this apartment has many modern conveniences. The apartment has been renovated with careful attention to detail using high quality materials.

Tastefully decorated with antiques and family heirlooms, this vacation apartment has kept its historical character while modernizing its amenities. Many of the doors, windows and wall niches are decorated with bricked arches.

Ground Floor: Entering on the ground floor of this apartment, you will find yourself in a long living room with a sofa, two armchairs, satellite TV, DVD player, stereo, and a fireplace. There is also a cute little bar corner under the stairs. This floor also has a bathroom with a sink, toilet, and shower, and a laundry room with washing machine.

First Floor: Wooden stairs lead up to a kitchen, equipped with dishwasher, electric oven, and a long wooden table seating up to ten. This room has five windows and is very light. This floor also has one bedroom with a 190 cm king-size bed.

Second Floor: Up another flight of stairs you will find two more bedrooms, one with a 190 cm king-size bed and the other with two single beds. There is also a beautiful bathroom with a marble sink, toilet, and shower stall with marble tiles.

This apartment is located in the center of Cortona on Via Berrettini, inside the old Etruscan walls. It is situated one block from the church of San Francesco, near the building where Pietro Berrettini [a Baroque painter, architect, and writer] was born. If you walk along via Berrettini, you will reach the highest part of the city, where you can see medieval buildings and alleys all around. You'll find that this city is an encounter with art, history, and culture. You'll rediscover Tuscany's past, which has changed very little in the last 400 years or so. Sitting in the center of the triangle formed by Arezzo, Siena, and Perugia, as well as being near Lake Trasimeno and the Appenines, Cortona is both ideally located for day trips and a sparkling gem of the region. In Cortona there is no end to picturesque streets and amazing historic buildings. Tour frescoed churches from the 13th century; explore the original city walls; see and art exhibit in the 16th century fortress. You can also visit the local museums and libraries, tiptoe around ancient monasteries and tombs dating back to the second century B.C. Dine on the best Tuscan dishes as you look out on an historic palazzo or drive out to one of the villas dotting the countryside.
