John's review of Casa Berrettini
We had a fabulous time in Cortona. The keyholder could not have been more helpful and gracious. The town of Cortona is an excellent base for exploring Tuscany and Umbria.
Central location steps away from piazzas, restaurants, town.
The hill is pretty steep and it's a tough walk back up from town.
Small town feel in Cortona, but lots of great shops, restaurants, baker, butcher, markets.

George's review of Casa Berrettini
A beautifully restored 1300 house. The owner and renovator is quite a guy. He would do anything for us. He brought us his mother's home cooked food, wood for the fireplace and flowers.
The house was in the middle of the historic neighborhood. We tried out our Italian with the very friendly neighbors. The apartment was nicely furnished with a great kitchen. The famous local Cortonan pottery was displayed throughout the house and also used for dining.
Our March visit started unseasonably cold. We even had 2 inches of snow one morning, a rare March event in Cortona. The heating system had some trouble keeping up with this cold weather. But the down quilts kept us warm at night. By week's end the temperature was back to the 70's and no heat was needed.
Walking around the hillside town of Cortona with it's maze of streets and 200BC Etruscan walls. Wonderful views, a great market square with lots of shops and restaurants.

Elizabeth's review of Casa Berrettini
The owner of this villa is a wonderful person who takes great care of it. He made us feel right at home and went above and beyond any expectations we might have had. The place is clean and homey and we hated to leave it after two weeks.
This villa has a wonderful kitchen. It has lots of windows and is on the second floor. We enjoyed cooking our meals in it and even hired a chef to come in and give us a lesson. There is a huge table that seats 10 people and we made that into our gathering place.
It would be impossible to remedy this but we would have enjoyed a place to sit outside. The weather was wonderful while we were in Cortona and it would have been nice to take advantage of that. We did open all of the windows and that helped.
Every day we hiked and never went to the same place. The surrounding area is stunning in its beauty. The people treated us wonderfully. There were some interesting museums and churches and the fort was worthy of a visit as well as the large cemetery outside the gates of Cortona.

Joe's review of Casa Berrettini
Located in the pre-medieval part of Cortona. Beautifully restored.
The owner was most helpful, and his mother provided a wonderful meal for us upon our arrival. Ivan also brought us fresh vegetables from his farm, and his mother gave is a delicious Tiramisu dessert.
My wife and I are 83, and the walk down to the shops and back is on a 45 degree angle cobblestone street. That is tough, especially coming back up. So any future renters should be in tip-top shape.
