This quiet marsh view home is an ideal location for guests looking to be close to the beach, but away from it all. This quiet street enables you to be on the island, yet secluded and relaxed. The screened porch has seating and dining tables, partial marsh views with excellent bird watching. The master bedroom has a private master full bathroom and views of the marsh and sunsets. The main floor has a "great room" with dining area, full kitchen and living area. Full of windows with lots of natural light. The 10th Street beach is an easy 8-10 minute walk away- just outside your door and a straight path to the beach. Off street parking for 4 cars or an RV or even small boat and trailer. Ideal home for a family, girls getaway weekend or even honeymoon retreat. The owner is an artist and the home is full of her original art and other local and regional artists. |

Girls Weekend
There were 6 of us ladies that stayed at Heron Hideaway for the weekend. This house was the perfect size for us with 3 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. It was very comfortable including the beds and was decorated nicely. The home was very clean. We ate in all meals except for one on Saturday night. The kitchen was spacious and the dining room table accommodated all 6 of us. It was nice to have coffee in the mornings on the screened porch. We enjoyed playing ping-pong in the gameroom downstairs which was an added bonus. The walk to the beach was not bad. The thing we liked least about the property was the early check-out time of 10:00 AM. We would have preferred a rental on the other side of Bulter Ave. but would highly recommend this property for a comfortable stay at Tybee. More...

Fabulous home for families...
We stayed at Heron Hideaway in July. We had stayed right on the beach in the two years prior and were a little worried that we may be disappointed with the location...boy, were we wrong. We LOVED the convenience of the location. It was a straight shot to 10th street beach (our new favorite part of the beach). The kids loved the ping pong table and being able to ride their bikes in the little driveway area in front of the house. The house exceded our expectations. The tiniest of details made us smile every day as we noticed the whimsy of the owners, we felt as if we were trusted friends who got to share in all of their treasures. The house was fun and very spacious. It had everything we needed for an incredible vacation. It worked beautifully for mine and my sister's family. We will book our next vacation through Mermaid Cottages. They were fabulous from start to finish. They made us feel like old friends which was so nice. Can't wait to go back. More...

Charming, Comfortable and Clean!
6 adults stayed at Heron Hideaway for 5 days. We all gushed with excitement when we walked in the door the first time. The house was brightly decorated, perfect for the beach. The owners artwork was a fun touch throughout the house. The rooms were cute and comfortable. I never felt like there were too many people in a small place. The screened in porch was perfect in the evening, although not bug free as we had hoped :)This will definitely be a place we will return to. More...

Wanting for nothing
From the preparations right through to the day we left, The Mermaid Cottages staff was more than helpful and accomodating. Our stay at the Heron Hideaway was a week of pure relaxation and enjoyment. We literally wanted for nothing as everything we needed was there for our use and pleasure. We enjoyed quiet, restful, fun-filled days and nights.
