Hello. We decided to take a last min trip to the R. River due to the fires in Santa Cruz and smoke. My friend suggested we use RRgetaways.com to find a place. We did and found many beautiful looking homes to rent. Unfortunately since it was last min we only had 1 choice which was Buttercup. We weren't too excited about the photos but I figured we'd be out and about and not really there much except to eat and sleep. It was right on the road, small and a bit funky with uneven floors and quite dark, but it had a nice kitchen and was very clean! It was ok for a couple days. That was until night fell. The traffic was HORRIBLE! We had our son and he had terrible sleep as well as my husband and I. There were no dual pane windows and the traffic was incredibly loud as well as voices from people passing by, swearing and such. We tried to drown all the noise out with the fans provided but it was only partially helpful. We were quite bummed and tired after the 2nd night so we called RRgetaways to ask if our checkout could be later so our son could try to nap since we were all up. Kindly enough the owners said it would be ok if we checked out a little later without extra charge. We really appreciated that. Also, we were never able to turn the tv on. (Not THAT big of a deal but still). So... it was clean, close to downtown and the forest, and the owners seemed kind enough, but we wouldn't ever rent the Buttercup again. I'm really sorry about that.

I couldn't have been more pleased with my choice of Buttercup for my recent visit to Guerneville! Modern conveniences and amenities combined with a charming property made me a guaranteed repeat renter for next year. It's obvious Buttercup is loved and well cared for and I look foward to my next visit.

The location was great as it was only a few blocks from downtown. The road noise however was terrible, so if you're looking for a quiet place this wouldn't be it. The hot tub was great and nicely set on a terraced hillside. There was a good selectin of DVD's. The cabin is very dark inside, and would benefit from a few skylights. The bed was very comfortable, however the bathroom was not very clean. The bathroom rugs should be tossed as well as the dozens of half used bars of soap in the medicine cupboard. Overall it was a good stay, and a good location if you want to walk downtown.

From start to finish - This was by far one of the best vacations we've taken!
The people at RRG are wonderful and it's nice to have places to stay that are dog friendly.
The home was everything we expected and more. Hot tub, sun room, two levels of deck space and a great garden.
This house is close to downtown, State Parks, and Russian River Wine Tasting. If you haven't checked out the Vinyards in this area you are truly missing out on Northern California wine tasting.

Wonderful, well-equipped home. The landscaping was beautiful and the house was comfortable and cozy. We felt right at home. Our only suggestion that there wasn't enough space for our belongings; it looked as though someone actually lived there so there were no empty cabinets or countertops for use. Highly recommended, however, for a lovely couple's escape!
