Two bedroom, one bath, exceptionally beautiful home on approximately half an acre of redwoods near the golf course. Lovely setting with deck, sun porch, pond with waterfall, hot tub. Very tasteful furnishings, skylights, ceiling fan, stone fireplace with insert, every amenity including high-speed cable Internet access. One bedroom has queen bed, second has double; queen sofabed in living room. Washer/dryer. Dog okay. Location: Monte Rio (Northwood), California 95462. One week minimum in July and August. SUMMER ROTATION DAY: FRIDAY

Tall Trees has everything you need. The appliances are top notch. Everything works well and the house is very nicely put together. Clearly, it is a labor of love. For us, Tall Trees solved all our problems. Especially nice was the 1/3-acre escape-proof fenced lot. We were able to pull in our van into the lot, close gate, and let our two black labs run out without any concerns. The labs loved it!
The location is nice but could be better. You are right next to the golf course in a idyllic bend in the River. Better though would be to have either a view of the River or direct access to the River. I believe you would like one of the two, preferably both. Tall Trees has neither. Nonetheless the grounds are wonderful, the trees are amazing, and the stay very worthwhile. |

| Tall Trees was a very nice place to stay. Cozy, cabin feel with huge, tree-filled yard (our Lab loved it!). Comfy beds, too. The only downfalls were being close to the highway and the maids may need to clean a little better :o( The large yard helped erase some of the highway noise. But we did find a couple spots inside that the maids should've gotten to. The cleaning fee was not low considering we only stayed two days ($90) so they might clean better. Other than that, it was wonderful and relaxing. Would return! |

The whole wonderful experience started with the helpful bookng agent I talked to on the phone. We called and were able to get the exact dates we wanted on very short notice. The house was so thoughtfully outfitted. The owners and management made us feel like we were friends of theirs that were invited to stay for a bit. My family and I plan to come back again. My kids are already asking when we will go again. We made beautiful memories, thank you so much!

A great getaway |

| Tall Trees was a great weekend getaway for us, a couple with a dog. The house is well-stocked and the décor is tasteful. The bed in the master bedroom is extremely comfortable and the hot tub was a perfect follow-up to a day hike at a nearby state park. The only downside of this property, as we knew in advance from other reviews and RR Getaways, is that the busy River Road is immediately behind the property. But a bit of road noise didn't bother us; in every other respect Tall Trees has the feel of a wooded refuge. We definitely would go back again. |

This was a really great house - perfctly located between Guernville and Monte Rio. The beds are heavenly and the place is really well appointed.
The one problem is that the hot water heater needs to be turned up. Water in the shower and faucets only got luke warm making showers fairly uncomfortable. That's it though. Its a great house. |

We found Tall Trees through a listing on Craigslist. We were
looking for a weekend getaway and the place looked nice.
When we got there, we realized that the property is close to the
main road that runs through Guernville. At first this seemed
disappointing, but as the weekend went on, it seemed to fade into
the background and ended up being of very little consequence. The
home itself has a very rich, warm textured feel to it. It was very
pleasant.
We have a small child, so our weekend was pretty mellow. We
appreciated the well stocked and furnished house, but could see
that if you were there as just a couple, or even with a small group
of friends, it could be a real blast. They had CD's and DVD's. We
enjoyed some mozart and our little one liked it, too!
We did find a little time for the hot tub, which was very nice! This
would be a great jumping off spot for golfing, playing on the river
or hiking in the wonderful redwoods in the area. |
