Great place, but too crowded.
I really enjoyed staying in Unit 412 at the Islander. The unit is decorated nicely and was very clean. The grounds on the property were well lanscaped and the staff was curtious. The only draw back was the number a people. It seemed that one or two units on the ground floor must have had twelve people staying in each unit. These same groups monopolized the pool for our entire stay with thier many children, smoking, and bad behavior. The beach was pretty with white sand and clear water, but as soon as you were seated in your beach chair under your reserved umbrella, someone would come with their chairs and umbrealla and set up right in front of you. There was just not much room on the beach during our stay. More...

Family Fun
The Islander is very family friendly. We were very close to the beach, had a great view, and I loved the cookout area. We enjoyed the Karoke night and all of the coupons to do things around Destin. I thought that it was a great value for a family looking to have some summer fun, and I plan on returning this summer. More...
