Good location for us. |

House layout serves our family very well. It is dated and could use
some spruce ups. The bed in the right rear bedroom (standing in the
living room facing the kitchen) is very uncomfortable and unusable
and fortunately we did not have to sleep someone there. We have
reserved it for next year and hope at a minimum the bed is replaced.
Our extended family were in several other houses and many are much
better furnished.
We do not have pets so that feature does not matter to us. |

| 2nd row property with plenty of room for 8 people and 2 dogs. Not a luxurious property but just what one envisions as a beach house at Sunset Beach. Clean and a short walk across the street to the beach. No problems with laundry, the kitchen, baths or the internet. I recommend the house highly. |

Older home with great layout and location |

This is the second year we have stayed in this house. The good things are the location - right across the street from the beach (if you take the 11th Street beach access you only have to go up one set of stairs with your beach gear), the two king beds have decent mattresses, there are tv's in all but the queen bedrooms, wireless internet reception, the screened-in porch is nice and big, the house is split with two bedrooms and a bath on each side with louvred doors that give privacy to separate families and there are two outdoor showers. The negatives are the queen bed - so bad we left this room empty!, the dated living room furniture, and the indoor showers have a very bizarre shell shaped shelves that refuse to hold any toiletries. The twin beds work fine for kids, but I wouldn't want to sleep on either of them as an adult.
On the whole, we'd like for the owners to improve some of the mattresses, but we really like the lay-out of this house.

Perfect for the family with the family dog!! |

| We arrived at the Teacher's Lounge to find everything in order and perfect for our large family (5 kids) and 2 dogs. We found the house to be great to fit our needs and didn't need all the fancy interior of some of the other houses that we have stayed at in the past. In fact, our relatives stayed at The Shore Thing and another along 6th street the same week. Their houses were decorated much better (updated), but they couldn't have pets. So, if you are needing a gorgeous place to stay - don't bring the pets. But if you have animals, this house is great because it is set up for them. Also, it sits very close the the beach. I would highly recommend this to our friends with families who want to bring the family dog! |

| This was our second stay at the Teacher's Lounge. We stayed there in 2004 and loved it. Everything was clean, bright and cheerful and it was close to the beach, but still affordable. So we rented it again with little thought. This year it was still bright and cheerful, still tastefully decorated and had some new additions such as the twin beds in one room and the tv-dvd players in three bedrooms, but there were a couple of disappointments as well. It is now pet-friendly, so there was dog hair all over the carpet that refused to be vacuumed up. we had pet hair on our food, on our toothpaste and clothes. Yuck. We don't have pets, since some family members are allergic, so this was an annoyance. We should have thought of this before renting a pet-freindly cottage. Also, the place wasn't as clean as it could have been--especially after paying a large cleaning deposit. We cleaned mildew off of the toilet seats and there was dust. We still enjoyed our stay, but we will rent a different cottage next time. |

| Sorry that the home wasn't cleaned to your satisfaction. Please let us know immediately upon arrival next time so that we can address any issues. We did make the guest aware that it was a pet-friendly home in February when they reserved it, but they opted to select it instead of reserving a home that doesn't accept pets (which is still the majority of our properties). We do not have a cleaning or security deposit with any of our rental homes. |
