Empty Nesters First Visit to the Islander

Unit #603 is fantastic! Five star decor & comfort, fit for those who enjoy beautiful surroundings, a real jewel. You have a flat screen tv with surround sound, just like home, what more can you ask for in a vacation condo, a comfortable mattress? You got it!
It looks just like the pictures; you will not be disappointed.
We ate at the Golden Coral, all foods cooked succulently & they offer a terrific variety. All we can say is that after our stay at the Islander, we came back home spoiled rotten.
We will be back. The Islander & condo #603 will be an annual tradition for us, from here on out. As the saying goes "Why have hamburger when you can have filet mignon at the Islander".

BREATHTAKING!!!

My family has been staying at the Islander for the past four years. Before I got married and started a family, my friends and I stayed at the Islander. The service was great then and is still great to this day!

Unit #603 was by far the BEST room i have ever stayed in at the Islander. My wife looked at your website and found this room. My wife and I love contemporary decor and this unit had that and also a warm feeling. Certain types of contemporary design can have a cold uncomfortable feeling. Not this room, it had a great feel to it, we loved the decor, the flat screen televisions in every room, the lamps and oh yeah, I can't forget the surround sound system. That blew me away. Great job guys!!!
My wife also enjoyed the complimentary beach chairs and umbrella.

The view was incredible as always. We always make sure we rent a unit with an ocean front view. The view is awesome early in the mornings when the fishing boats are out and lined up and also in the evening when the sun is going down.

The family loved the amenities that were offered to us. We pretty much used all of them. The Track amentity has always been a big hit for the kids. I especially took advantage and loved the golf amentity. The Blue Water Bay golf course is an awesome course.

I would have to say that the best thing I liked about my stay was unit #603 (we will always try to book that unit for every October)

The least would be two things. #1- The beach is not as plentiful as it use to be, but you guys do not have any control of that.

#2- Last year I had several choices for golf courses. Other than the Blue Water Bay golf course, I played at The Raven golf course and enjoyed the variety. This year you guys didn't have that. Oh well though, you still can't beat being able to play a round of golf each day. I'll still take it.

Overall guys, great job!!!!!!!!! Keep up the good work More...

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!

My wife and I had an great time in Destin and the condo was perfect! We are
very picky about the places we stay and this was better than the pictures. We
loved the location....close to the beach and great sidewalks for running. Highly
recommended! Thanks for a great trip!

First Family Vacation

This was the first vacation that we took with our twin boys that are 4 years old. We had been to Destin once before with them but with other family members. This was our first trip by ourselves, with our boys!

What I was looking for and found with this complex was close proximity to the beach. With little ones I didn't want an extensive trek to the beach and the distance was perfect. I loved the fact that there were 2 pools to choose from. The free beach set up was great, although I didn't like how those who brought their own chairs got beach front set up. And those of us that had the provided set up were way in the back, far from our children who wanted to play in the water...not a good idea!

What I liked least was the fact that there was only 1 set of washers and dryers and I had to travel 4 floors to wash towels, clothes, etc. No detergent was available in the laundry room so in addition to traveling to the laundry room I then had to head to the first floor for soap. A detergent machine in the laundry room would be ideal. I did notice that some other units provided laundry baskets for their renters and that would have been great as ours didn't have that.

The staff was very stingy with "extras" like dishwasher soap, towels, etc. Again, having small children, we ate in a lot and did a considerable amount of dishes so the limited soap was a pain. Exchanging towels only once a week was extremely inconvenient when people are filled with sand and pool water, sometimes showering twice a day.

I've done a lot of vacationing but this being the first with my childred it was a good experience. I would probably return to this complex but if there's a facility that provided more daily living items w/o the restrictions I would book there. When you stay somewhere for a week you want to feel at home as much as possible. Having to practically beg for common items isn't so much fun on your vacation. More...

Our early winter Home in Destin

We have been staying at the The Islander for about 10 years. This is the first time we stayed at #603. We throughly enjoyed the condo. It had been updated and was done superbly. We stayed Oct, Nov, Dec. in 2008 and have reservations again for the same time period in 2009. We think the present management and desk personnel are super. Steve Parrish is a very pleasing and caring reservation manager. We would rate him as Highly Recommended. Mel and Betty Brown More...
