This Three Bedroom Cottage is located across the street from a Fresh Water Pond with Lifeguard on duty in Summer, 1.3 miles to the Bay Side Beach and 3.5 miles to the Ocean Side.. The Living Room has a TV with DVD Player and Slider to a Deck with Gas Grill. The Master Bedroom has a Queen Size Bed and TV. The Other Two Bedrooms offer Two Twins in each. We rented this property for two weeks in late August. We were so disappointed with this rental. Although we anticipated a more rustic rental, the proximity to the lake was our big draw. What we did not anticipate was the poor quality of the home- plywood walls with no sheetrock or sound proofing, tiny (!!!) bedrooms, living room and kitchen area. In addition, he kitchen was poorly equipped (not enough silverware for a family of 4 to eat dinner, not enough pots and pans, etc.).
The property is directly across from the public parking lot for the lakeside beach and people pulled up with trucks early in the morning to offload boats, disturbing our sleep and privacy. Further, traffic is pretty heavy on the road between the house and the beach.
The property allowed dogs but we found it not easy to have a dog there. The main street is pretty busy and had no sidewalk. since the beach was across the street (and no dogs are allowed on the beach) people yelled at us for walking on that side of the road. The side streets nearby were posted 'private' and we were confronted if we tried to walk down the side street with our dog.
In the end, we were hit with surcharges for destruction of property that we did not do.
Eastham is a lovely town and the location on the cape was perfect for access to the national seashore beaches as well as the restaurants in Brewster and Orleans that we always enjoy. |

| I am very sorry for the poor time that you had at this vacation rental. This is a great cottage to all of our guests that come back to this home EVERY year! When you rent this home it is important to know that it's a traditional cape cottage but is kept up very well and does have past guests every year. This home has pine walls as with any "Cape Cod Cottage". The kitchen is now fully equipped and stocked with all items your family would need and does include great views of Great Pond. Please keep in mind that when you are renting a home with us, that is just what it is. Just because we are renting you a pet friendly home does not mean we have control over whether or not the beach is pet friendly. Most beaches on Cape Cod are not pet friendly during peak hours. |
