Relaxation at it's Finest

The owners, Doug and Gail, could not have been more accomodating. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like their best friends. Anywhere Doug went, we were invited to go and see the beautiful island with him. A first day trip for groceries, a lunch journey to "Da Conch Shack", seeing the windsurfers on the south shore, the hunt for pink flamingos, and then a hilltop hitorical site were all part of the fun of spending time with our hosts and other guests. The accomodations were clean, comfortable, and well outfitted. The palm surrounded pool area was a highlight for us- it was superb! The location was excellent with an easy walk to the beach, shopping, and high quality restaurants. We highly recommend Grace Bay Place!

We are just back from our vacation from Grace Bay Place and we can't stop talking about what an unforgettable time we had! Truly it was our finest vacation yet...and looking forward to returning next year. Gail and Doug were wonderful host - taking us to the local grocery store and referring us to the wonderful local dinner hot spots. The beach is just across the way - about a 4 minute walk to the most beautiful beach we had ever been to. Our unit was very clean with all the amenities we needed for our stay. We would highly suggest staying at Grace Bay Place if you want a tranquil and stress free vacation. Were counting the days till we come back.

It Felt Like "Home"

Grace Bay Place exceeded my expectations. The unit was clean and well kept. Our hosts, Gail and Doug are amazing people willing to help you out any way they can. I cannot say enough good things about this property, travelling with two children (7 and 10) I felt extremely safe and had no worries. It is a short walk to the beach, once at the beach there are lounge chairs there for Grace Bay Place residents. The property is in close proximity to all the shops, restaurants and grocery store. Gail took us to the grocery store upon arrival for our groceries.
This was the most stress free and relaxed vacation that I have ever been on. I would take Grace Bay Place over any high end resort any day. This place truly feels like "Home"!!! Thanks Gail and Doug for an amazing vacation, my kids will never forget you!!! or Gwip and Lilly!!!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Grace Bay Place . The owners were wonderful hosts! It was almost like staying with old friends. The property is beautiful and well maintained. The interior of the units are modern, clean and very comfortable. The kitchens are well appointed, we did not lack for a single cooking utensil, linen or amenity (they had these great beach towels I wanted to steal!). Doug took us to the grocery store upon arrival but it was an easy walk to pick up items throughout the week as needed. Very easy/safe walk to the beach access which was gorgeous! Grace Bay is one of the most amazing beaches I have ever been to with snorkeling right off the beach access.
Shopping is right next door. Many restaurants are within an easy walk either down the road or down the beach. My husband and father went diving one day and I walked around the shopping and layer on the beach by myself with no worries at all. They had beach chairs and an umbrella available to use as well.
We felt so "at home" at Grace Bay Place that we went to dinner one night with Doug and went to an exercise class one morning with Eden !
We only needed to rent a car one day (to tour around the island and see some other beaches that are too far to walk) as Grace Bay Place is so centrally located you can walk to so much very easily. Provo is also great because there is no language barrier and no currency exchange which makes the trip that much more relaxing. Our local bank was even affiliated with one of the local banks there so we could get cash whenever we needed to.
All-inclusive have their place but I think I was more relaxed and enjoyed this vacation more than any other (including a couple of all-inclusive in Mexico and St. Lucia ). I would go back in a heartbeat!

Perfect location!

Great location! Gail and Doug are very friendly and accommodating. They helped us to the local grocery, showed us around, and were always available while still creating a property that provides privacy and the comforts of a home away from home! I would highly recommend this property!! One of the best vacations I've ever been on.

This is a perfect place to stay if you prefer to spend your holiday budget on excursions, sight-seeing and other outdoor-things, rather than spend it all on an expensive hotel room on Provo. The apartment was fully equipped, so we made breakfast and lunch at home, but tried different restaurants at the hotels located on the beach (which was very successful). The owner/family gave us so many good tips, helped us with transportation to different things, and had even a cell-phone in the apartment for our use the whole week. The beach is only a short 5 minute walk from the place, and all the shops are also within 5-10 min walk. We felt us so welcome at this place, and would definitively come back - if we get the chance to do so.

A great choice for our Babymoon

My husband and I stayed here for 8 days in January 2011 for our babymoon. We were not disappointed.
At the time of our visit, Doug-the owner-had the flu but ensured someone was there at the airport to pick us up. He and his dog Gwip were there to greet us at Grace Bay Place and after showing us around, he let us get settled and rest a bit. I saw another post describing what a wonderful dog Gwip was...it's absolutely the truth.
The rooms and grounds are exactly what you see in the photos. We weren't expecting daily room maintenance but Doug checked in on us now and again to see if we wanted it. Towels and sheets were all we requested as maintaining the room was easy. A few of days we just relaxed on the patio and relished in the tranquility.
The location is walking distance to the beach and the most of the Grace Bay Shopping area. The chairs reserved for for GBP on beach are without umbrellas but Doug provided one for us.
If your looking to stay in Grace Bay but are on a budget, this is your place.

Grace Bay Place is great value for money that is private, clean,

We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment for 2 weeks of January 2011.
A very patient and welcoming Doug collected us from the airport, introduced us to our accommodation and took us shopping to the IGa supermarket close by to get some essential items. This was a nice welcome after many hours travelling.
The room was very clean and well equipped with all cooking accessories to be self sufficient throughout our stay. The porch area facing the pool was very nice in the evening to keep away any mosquitoes and a good place to enjoy "Happy Hour" before going out for dinner.
Doug supplied us with a "pay as you talk" cell phone that became extremely useful for making reservations and an additional "piece of mind" when exploring the islands with our rental car.
The grounds at GBP are kept in perfect condition with palm trees and landscaped gardens. Always very peaceful and a great place to enjoy coffee in the morning and get some R&R.;
Gbp has a resident dog, "Gwip", she is the cutest dog and we miss her very much, you can not resist her even if you don’t like dogs. It is nice to have her around the place as you feel safer even though we never felt unsafe during our entire stay on the island.
I have given GBP a 3 for comfort only based on the fact that this is not a hotel where your room gets cleaned every day (Once a week, plenty of towels etc supplied) and the room is not top of the line luxury. Gsp solves the purpose that it is very clean and practical. Everything functions how it should but it is not flashy. We did not use our TV, nor did we need expensive appliances, it is just great value for the price you pay. Our room could fit a further 2 guests as there was a pullout couch, however could be a little tough as the bathroom is connected to the bedroom only.
Gbp is conveniently located next to the main shops, IGa and good restaurants on the island. Recommend that you try out Vino Tiempo (Wine Bar) and Danny Buoys if you want to be out for some drinks after 9 pm, they are a 5 min walk away. We had lots of fun in these 2 places but found the island lacked some nice beach bars. There are many resorts to eat/drink at but even these places shut down early.
Gbp is an easy 5 min walk away from the beach. There are a few lounger chairs supplied but nothing fancy. Recommend that you find a piece of the beach you like and explore a bit along the amazing beach. We highly recommend you rent a car and explore some of the wonderful beaches the resort people don’t; Taylor Bay and Pirates Cove are amazing and very secluded.
We had an amazing stay at GBP and Doug was always free to get advice from when needed.
We spent some time looking in some of the resorts along Grace Bay, yes they are luxurious (Not like in the pictures :-) ) but we did not regret saving thousands of dollars by staying at GBP and having the flexibility of cooking when we wanted to and having peace and quiet when we wanted away from the more populated resorts.
Gbp offers the opportunity visit an exclusive island without breaking the bank. If you are on a budget, I don't think you will find a better deal than GBP.

Tranquility and hospitality meet!

My wife and I stayed here for a week and had a fanatastic time. Doug (our host) could not have been more welcoming. He met us at the airport and even helped smooth over some luggage issues. He provided endless ideas of things to do and see. The "apartment" at Grace Bay was spacious, clean and well appointed. We spent many quiet hours lounging by the pool and drinking rum and pineapple. Grace Bay Beach is a short 2 minute walk. We will certainly be back again one of these days. The diving and beach are absolutely fantsatic. Thanks Doug, hope all is well on your side of the world.

10 Day Trip to Grace Bay Club

The place was in the perfect location on Grace Bay road, which if unfamiliar with Provo is close to all the good restaurantes and incredible shopping. The beach is only a 5 minutes walk across the road. The residences was well furnished and very very clean. One of my friends and I wanted to go deep sea fishing so Doug (the owner) was kind enough to arrange private fishing expedition.
Overall top 5 trips I have taken in my life, I would strongly recommend it to anyone.

Our family had the pleasure of visiting Turks and Caicos this past Jan (2009)and we stayed in a two bedroom (two bathroom) poolside suite at Grace Bay Place (GBP)for our two week vacation.
We were looking for a place to stay that wasn't all inclusive, and wasn't hustle bustle 24-7. We also wanted a kitchen to be able to enjoy a few home cooked meals and breakfasts in the morning (although the Saltmills Cafe had the most delicious breakfasts!! So GBP looked like the perfect place for us; clean, quiet and close to the ocean.
Although GBP isn't nestled on the beach itself it is only a two minute walk across the road (I could see the ocean from the upstairs bedroom window); the perfect location in my opinion: close to the beach, restaurants and shopping.
The suite was spotless and well stocked with cutlery, dishes, coffee maker, fridge etc. There were air conditioners in both bedrooms although I preferred to sleep with the tropical breeze. The screened in sunroom was great for relaxing away from the mosquitoes in the evening and we had the pool to ourselves during the hot days to relax in.
Doug (and Doug Jr) were fantastic hosts and showed us some of the most fantastic spots and restaurants on the island, always friendly and willing to offer advice and a good time.
I would highly recommend staying at GBP for anyone visiting Provo.; we absolutely loved it!!

Best combination of price, location, comfort and great owners in

My boyfriend and I stayed at Grace Bay Place in a 1 bedroom suite Dec 29-Jan 7. The owner is terrific to deal with - he was not able to meet us at the airport when we arrived for pick up but had arranged someone to meet us and take us to the property. He arrived later on that evening to check in with us and take us to IGA for groceries (and asked anytime we saw him during our stay if we needed to go anywhere).
The suite suited our needs just fine, clean and comfortable and having the kitchen to cook some meals ourselves saved us a lot of money (the poolside private bbq also came in handy more than once!) Doug works on updating some things whenever he can since some things don't last as long down there due to the humidity. He was doing some work on one of the 2 bedroom suites when we were there so we checked that place out and it was awesome - 2 stories with one bedroom on the top floor and nice high ceilings on the main with more updates done than the one we were in so we're hoping to find another couple to come with us some day and stay there.
The outdoor space is amazing - nice pool and lots of palm trees and plants. We spent almost every afternoon there with the place to ourselves playing cards and reading by the pool.
Takes about 4 minutes from stepping out the door to be right on Grace Bay Beach. The stretch of the beach closest to the property is really nice and private. No rocks in the water so it is perfect for swimming. There are "no-see-ems" or something but they seem to only affect certain people (I had quite a few bites but my boyfriend had zero).
5 minute walk to a liquor store (prices don't seem expensive if you're from Canada and get a good exchange rate on the dollar), restaurants between a 3-10 minute walk. Caicos Adventures (recommended by Doug for diving) is a 10 min walk too and they will pick you up at Trade Winds which is right across the street from GBP.
GBP made it affordable for us to go to Turks and Caicos, so we loved it!

Grace Bay Place is an affordable treasure

I've stayed at Grace Bay Place two times now, and I could not be more enthusiastic about the experiences I have had there. The accomodations are very nice -- spacious and clean and well-decorated -- but the best part of the stay is the personal feeling you get from the Woods, who really take pride in their place and go out of their way to make your stay comfortable, relaxed, and easy. I love having a kitchen to cook in! It's just so nice to be able to prepare a nice lunch or dinner and eat it on the screened-in porch while looking out at the palm trees swaying over the pool. Heaven! One of the most beautiful beaches is a 3 minute-walk away, and that is no lie. It's so easy to get there. On my last stay, my friend and I were poking our noses in some of the fancier hotels along the beach, and afterward, we were so happy that we were staying at Grace Bay Place because not only is it 10 times more affordable, it feels like a more real, connected experience. Anyway, I could not recommend this place more highly for the traveler who is looking for an off-the-beaten path place to stay.

we were picked up from the airport, by the owner, manager, of grace bay place..After settling in, he was kind enough to take us to the beautiful IGA, that is located very close to grace bay place.Our apartment was simply furnished, with a complete kitchen, living area, bedroom, and large bathroon. There was a washing machine,dryer and a place to hang wet clothes. Plenty of towels were supplied.There is a beautiful pool, that I had almost all to myself. The beaches are all free, and the beach was within walking distance. Grace Bay Place is within walking distance to many restuarants. I will definetly go there again.

Wonderful 10 days at Grace Bay Place

Very comfortable and affordable one bedroom apartment. Everything we needed was already there. It was close to the beach, food shopping and the specialty stores of Grace Bay. The Woods' thought of everything. If we needed anything, they provided it. Wonderful experience. We will be back soon. Thanks for the great stay.
