We rented al's one bedroom condo unit 1204. It is directly oceanfront. You could not possibly find a better view for this price. Al was patient in replying to my questions.
We are used to renting 2 bedroom condos as we have a 6 yr old and 15 yr old and need space. When we walked in the condo I was a little worried. It was smaller than I expected and my husbands comment was "we can make this work". Unfortunatly with xmas prices we were limited to 1 bedroom. It turned out to be just fine. There is so much going on at night along the beach we honestly only slept in there. Ther was always live music and bonfires somewhere. Also the balcony made it feel like there was another room.
A hudge bonus I didn't expect was daily maid service. When you have 4 people tracking in sand I really appreciated that. Not sure if that is always available.
The hotel sent us a bottle of wine because we won the name the kids club contest (so we will be back!!). Mango Reef was kind enough to let us drink it with dinner and resort staff treated us like celebrities.
We ate lunch and dinner at Mango Reef several times. Twice we requested to eat on the beach. How awesome, no extra charge. Great (expensive) food. Walked to other nearby restaurants. Best place ever for New Yrs. watching several different fireworks displays.
Rented a car for a few days. There is absolutly nothing to see on the island, land locked coast. Would rent one for the week next time just to get to other restaurants and resorts but not necessary.
Will stay again.Response from Allen Ellsworth - 03/12/2013

Me and my wife stayed here for our honeymoon...it was way beyond our expectations...we stayed in a beach front unit in the Chelsea building. The room was big, modern, and clean. You will not be disappointed in any way with the room I promise you.. The mango reef restaurant is pretty good and very pricey, but almost everything we found on the island was. The beach is pretty much in the best spot of grace bay...lots of places to see to the right and left...the sand is something like I have never experienced. A nice floury powder...the pool was nice but we never really saw any body use it...Al was great to work with, he almost always emailed us quickly back on any question we had...it was kind of a disappointment for al to not take a credit card, and for us to mail a check to him...but it all worked out just fine...we would totally rent from al again...It was truley paradise and me and my wife can't wait t go back and we are definitely staying at the alex. Thanks all!!!

Staff was great we contacted front dest before arrival and they arranged for our friends room to be joined with our room beach front with a amazing view. Room was clean and ready when we arrived. The food at the mango reef was great we ate there several times along with some of the islands best restaurants like coco bistro. The local Grocery store is also very nice with every thing you need to fill in between meals. We rented a car and drove the entire island it is very safe and very easy to navigate the entire island. This was our second trip to the islands and we would definitely return. Food and diving are expensive but some of the best in the world. Great place to relax beach chairs and umbrellas ready on the beach every day and plenty of chairs and room around the pool.

We just returned from a week in Provo and had a great time. We rented this studio condo on the 3rd floor of the Chelsea building. It had a small kitchenette that met our needs for the week. We had a few breakfasts and lunches that we prepared there. The beachfront location was perfect. The view from the balcony was superb, looking out onto the crystal clear blue waters of Grace Bay. The studio was very clean when we arrived and was cleaned and supplied with fresh towels every day during our stay. Even though we rented this directly from the owner, we were still treated as guests of the alexandra Resort and were able to take advantage of all the amenities such as the big, beautiful pool, the beach towel and umbrella service on the beach, and the water sports. All of the staff we met were very helpful and friendly. The grounds, pool, and buildings are all very well maintained. Our only disappointment was that the resort did not have any type of small sailing boats such as a Hobie Cat for the use of the guests. Other resorts along the beach did have several of them. Other than that small complaint, we felt the studio was a great deal and we would definately consider staying here again !

28970Great value, good location

My husband and I spent a long weekend in this unit and it exceeded our expectations. It's a good value - we found that we were paying 2/3 to 1/2 of what the hotel guests at the same resort were. It's within walking distance of a liquor store, grocery store, a snorkeling spot (past Beaches around the red buoys), and some good beachfront restaurants, including Mango Reef Restaurant at the resort (the lobster dishes are amazing and they set up tables on the beach with live music 2x per week). The unit is on the end on the top floor with a nice view of the pool and ocean. The kitchen is tiny and doesn't have an oven so don't expect to do much cooking but it totally works for breakfast, lunch and cocktail-making. However, there's no ice machine and you have to go to the bar for it. We also did a snorkeling trip thru Caicos Dream Tours that leaves from the resort and it was good (good boat, conch hunting was fun, free drinks were good, snorkeling was poor relative to other places we've done it and it was also pricey at $89/ea). Other critiques: the owner's pricing on this site is outdated so he will ask to charge you more than listed, he asks you to send a check which is sketchy compared to using a credit card but turned out ok, daily housecleaning is not included and a broom is not provided so a lot of sand accumulated in our room. If we were going to Turks for more than a long weekend I would definitely seek out a more remote spot on one of the other islands but this was great for a long weekend.

For your next time at the Alexandra, get a BEACH FRONT unit, house keeping and on the front 50 feet from the ocean looking directly at it

57718Alexandra Resort a great honeymoon choice!
Left on 10/31/2011 for a stay in October 2011
My wife and I stayed at the alexandra for our honeymoon 10/22-10/29 in a studio with a great view of the ocean and pool-garden. I've been there twice before but she was a first timer and loved it. The unit had a granite countertop and small refrigerator, as well as a washer-dryer. Also it had a nice sized bathroom with a shower, a comfortable closet and dresser and a nice deck that looked over the pool, garden, and Grace Bay in the background. The resort staff was very helpful and pleasant. The concierge, Al, was helpful and Joe, Annette were very friendly and pleasant. The restaurant are with Ullanda and Mary were also fun. I think the vibe of the resort has just gotten better over the past 3 years as the building are now finished and it's developing it's personality.
It's perfectly situated for fine dining including: Parallel 23, Grace's Cottage, Bay Bistro, and the Sky Lounge at the Veranda. Less formal restaurants include Hemmingways, and Somewhere on the Beach which is about a 20 minute walk to Bight Beach, which is also an excellent snorkel site. The resort restaurant Mango Reef has had mixed reviews especially for dinner, but the breakfast and lunch are good. There is no grill option in the evening which is an issue if you want something like a hamburger or light dinner. Hemmingway's would probably be the best choice in that case.
