“A perfect retreat” We stayed at the Casale for one week in august: the place is a real pearl of beauty! The house is lovely and equipped with every comfort. The garden is absolutely marvelous with the lemon trees and nice and well-cared grass. The owner has taken a real great care of us providing useful information a spoiling us with the fruits of is garden. The company of the animals gives the place a relaxing countryside touch, while the wonderful beaches and cultural amenities are just around the corner. We can surely recommend the place and look forward to a longer stay!

A peaceful week on Sicily

We spent a wonderful week in the Casale Pergola. Very close to the ocean, it was still secluded and quiet. The house was spacious with high ceilings and the terrace was perfect for every time of the day or night (even when it was raining!). Signore Trapani welcomed us when we arrived und explained everything in detail. We were allowed to take eggs from the chicken every morning and really enjoyed the other animals that lived on the area (e.g. two donkeys and a horse). Pleasant holiday home at great location

This holiday home is situated in the middle of a huge lovely garden with lemon trees, ideal for children, who will also like the farm yard animals behind the fence (horse, donkeys, goats, chickens, turkeys). The hospitable owner of the house, Gioacchino, kindly provided us with fruit from the garden and we could have daily fresh eggs from the hens. The garden is shared with the adjacent holiday home, but the garden is large and there is a considerable distance between the houses and the trees in between provide privacy. The house is not particularly large, but it is functional and it has a nice terrace. It was nice to have Wifi, but most of the time the speed was only sufficient for e-mail and not so much for web browsing. The location is great: the warm Mediterranean sea is only a 500 m stroll away and a 15 minute drive to the pleasant town of Noto with its baroque Duomo restored after the 1990 collapse. The highway is close by, and it's s relatively short drive to magnificent Syracuse or the hilled cities with baroque churches of Ragusa and Modica or, if you venture further afield, the Pantalica Necropolis or Mount Etna. The coastline south of Syracuse makes for agreeable swimming. … see more

Great location for walking & exploring the wonderful old town of Ortega. The apartment was spacious & comfortable for our group of 4..great kitchen dining area for cooking meals using ingredients bought for the fabulous open street market. Luxury Apartment in Ancient Building.
All of Sicily

We stayed at Pallazzo Colpace for 6 weeks, and I recommend it absolutely. We stayed here from February 1 to mid-March, plenty of time for things to go wrong, but they never did. The owner lives on site--had we needed a toilet fixed ora tour guide, she was there. But the apartment is in perfect shape, no emergencies. (Somewhat rare in Europe: all those old pipes!) The rooms are beautiful: newly restored, modernized baths and kitchen, beautiful views. But most importantly, this apartment sits on the Ionian Sea, gorgeous views all day and night, and yet is in the heart of old Ortigia, an island evocative of old Italy. The highways from Siracusa take you everywhere in Sicily, so you can tour the incredible artistic sites, but staying on the island is equally satisfying, with the fresh market, gorgeous pallazzi, and wonderful small museums. We are going back next winter, but any time of year would be thrilling. We've rented many long and short term apartments; Palazzo Colpace is the most satisfying, and the most memorable. … see more
