NYClose and comfortable
Left on 11/02/2012 for a stay in September 2012
The landlord Jonathan lives on the property. He was always around and helpful if we needed anything. Everything was clean and in good working order. It is a nicely renovated building, an apartment with a loft bedroom. Quite a few stairs to the entrance. We stayed 11 nights, provided our own housekeeping. We had bikes with us, and the biking was great. The main dock of Provincetown is about 2 miles away. Nice feeling of privacy: the fairly busy road was close, but because we were up high it didn't feel that way; the view out the windows was of green trees.

Owner
Julie,
Thank for you positive feed back. The only thing I would correct is that by the odometer in my truck the main pier is exactly a mile from our property though it may feel like two miles. -

NYCAwesome apartment esp if you have a loud dog
Left on 09/11/2012 for a stay in September 2012
We stayed at the great studio apt last week (Labor Day wk 2012) We have 2 maltese dogs & 1 is very loud. It was perfect for us. The downstairs area is spacious with a lrg comfy sleeper couch, cable TV, a fully supplied kitchen, bathroom and a washer/dryer. The upstairs has a comfy queen bed and cable TV/very separate from the downstairs area/really like a one bedroom, not a studio.Ac is a portable unit/water must be emptied every 10 hours or so/this is the only down side...The apt is above a quiet art studio on Bradford St...about a 10 minute walk into the heart of P town. You cross Bradford/then walk through beautiful Suzanne's Garden(Suzanne was the owners Mom)/then cross the beginning of Commercial St/to the beach/What made it great for us was that the apt apt was not so close to others/our little barky one didn't bother anybody/Owner will help you and give you privacy/Nice combo/thank you Jonathan for letting us bring two dogs.Suzanne was Jonathan Mom
Here are some other things we liked and didn't:
Hot L/close to apt: awesome breakfast/Loved the Greek omelette/full of kalamata olives
Bubala's/not good at all/except for people watching and free parking/Lobster Pot...Great clam chowder(they have won several prizes)...Great blackened sprimp...Jimmy's Hideaway/Expensive but romantic and has great beef wellington, scallopsLocal 186(OK to use free Bubala parking)/Love the "Bird" burger...expensive at 16 dollars but did come with fries and was very good/Blue cheese/bacon salad good but had too much blue cheese
Moby Dicks/Nice blackened shrimp and blue cheese/bacon/lettuce salad/Tacos not good
Macs Shack in Wellfleet/Great outdoor bar area but meal was poor
Truro winery/Go for Wine tasting/
Never got to try Sal's or Front Street but heard they were great
Georges pizza/OK only pizza but LUV spagetti and meatballs/they deliver
Spiritus pizza/crispy slice/bit too much oregano for me in the sauce/they deliver
Karoo Kafe/heard from many that it was good 4 lunch/not dinner

BostonGreat quiet retreat, but close to town
Left on 06/14/2012 for a stay in May 2012
We were a group of 4 staying for 4 nights and fit very comfortably in the Gallery apartment. Landlord was extremely helpful and exceeded any requests we had. The place was very clean and had plenty of space to spread out. The area was nice and quiet but within walking distance to downtown. Also this was one of few places that allowed our dogs to stay without any problems. Overall we had a great time and would definitely go back! Thanks!

Boston, MAQuiet, pet-friendly respite
Left on 05/28/2012 for a stay in May 2012
I've rented several different places in Provincetown, and this unit was by far the most bang for our buck. It offered tranquility and comfort, in a quirky but very livable space. Every evening we looked forward to returning back to the apartment.
The owner was extremely responsive when we arrived bringing us down extra bedding for the convertible couch. He also guided us down a short path towards the beach where we could walk our dog.
The hope was extremely comfortable for three people. The kitchen was stocked with the basics, and we were able to cook comfortably. If we had stayed longer, we would have taken advantage of the grill on the deck. There is a nice eating area on the deck with a sliver of a water view.
We enjoyed the quiet of the East End which for us was about a 10-15 minute walk to the most bustling area of Commercial St. The big plus for us was that the unit is pet friendly, and we could bring our dog.
Initially I was uncomfortable with not being able to pay by credit card, but we had absolutely no issue with billing or payment. -

My wife & I have vacationed on the Cape for several years but have yet to find a more pleasant, appealing and convenient place to stay then Hide away Hills. The accommodations nestled away among trees and beautiful landscaping are private, clean, tastefully appointed and very comfortable. A five minute walk from our cottage brought us to a beach with wonderful views of the Cape and Provincetown Center. Hide away hills is a setting where one can enjoy peace and relaxation yet is only minutes away from art Galleries, fine restaurants, shopping, beaches, recreation areas and all that Provincetown area has to offer. The owners are hospitable and welcoming. Hide away Hills is a place which we will recommend to family and friends. Whenever we return to the Cape we will be happily staying at Hideaway Hills.

BrooklynPerfect East End rental
Left on 08/17/2011 for a stay in August 2011
We really enjoyed our stay at Hideaway Hill. The place was immaculate (especially compared to other rentals we've tried) and just a ten minute walk to the center of town. We have a really shy dog and so appreciated the quiet setting--it's tucked in the trees, and we hardly knew anyone else was staying there! Our only suggestion would be to update the bathroom, which is adequate and clean but could use better light and a new medicine cabinet. But these were minor issues. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends.

Comfortable stay in Provincetown. Quiet, clean, light and open. My dog also loved it. A short walk to the beach and a little farther to town. I would stay here again.

Montreal, QuebecAn unforgettable week in "The Barn"
Left on 08/10/2011 for a stay in August 2011
We came from Montreal with our two daughters, son in law, 3 children and our labrador dog. We spent a perfect and joyful week in this magnificent artist's home, so beautifully designed with its high cathedral ceiling with a lot of windows bringing in natural light. With two independent bedrooms, its large living room and beautiful and huge fireplace, its balcony facing a garden and the sea, this place is the best we ever stayed at in USa.The landlord is very accommodating and everything one needs is furnished with the house with wi-fi and ipod support..
As a writer and publisher, I found it very inspiring and recommend it warmly. -

My wife and I spent a blissful week in P-Town. Part of the wonderful time we had can certainly be attributed to our lodging accommodations and the owners Jon and Camille. We stayed in one of their cottages and it was perfect for us. The cottage was rustic, but quaint and spotless, and the setting was peaceful located in the woods. A huge plus for us was the accommodations were pet friendly--bonus! So...if you looking for a special place...check it...Jon and Camille's place could be for you!

Left on 06/14/2011 for a stay in May 2011
We stayed for 2 nights. The location is excellent for anyone wanting to explore Provincetown or the Cape. Short 2-minute walk, through a lovely garden, to the beach. Minutes from downtown Provincetown, which means it is nice and quite while being close to the local galleries and bars. Jonathan, the host, is very gracious and helpful. He also provided us with details about Provincetown, local attractions and places to eat and see. The apartment has a full kitchen for those interested in cooking their own food. The place is highly recommended.

We called Jonathan 2 days before our arrival and he was fabulous! Such a nice guy, which helped to make our stay great. We brought our dog (90lb chocolate lab) and he loved it too. The place is the perfect walk to town and there is an awesome beach access. It was quite, had all the necessary amenities and it was within our price range. I highly recommend any of the rentals Jonathan has to offer.

Privacy , pets , peace and quiet... oh and laundry too ... what else could one ask for?
Situated above the very low key Cove Gallery , the Gallery apartment seems too good to be true . A few steps up from the gravel driveway delivers guests to a generous deck with outdoor gas grill and private out door seating area . The spacious interior with vaulted ceiling and tile floors has a sleeper sofa and state of the art TV. Cross breezes keep the downstairs cool and any minor traffic noise is buffered by the surrounding trees. The kitchen is compact , newly appointed and efficient . The bathroom has a generous shower and a washer dryer as well. The upstairs bedroom "getaway" , guarantees the best night sleep you could imagine.
If you must use your car , convenient parking is provided but bicycling and walking to town or beaches is a rare pleasure that should be experienced . I wouldn't think of vacationing without my dog . Every morning we made the heavenly journey on foot , traversing a dreamy garden path , Hummingbirds darting about our heads , to the bay.
Returning to the Gallery apatment always feels like home.
The proprietor appears only when needed or beckoned. The Shore Gallery occasionally had subtle evening hours with an open invitation to participate in food and libations.
The P town Party life 's a 10 minute trip to Commercial St. Close enough if you want it , but serenity is the East end address of the Gallery apartment -

San Francisco, CAQuiet & Away from the Crowds
Left on 08/31/2010 for a stay in July 2010
If you need/want to be in the center of the Commercial-Street action, or close to Herring Cove beach, then this is not likely for you. If, however, you like the idea of a lovely, quiet, spacious, clean and well-maintained hideaway on the east edge of town, just next to the tennis club & surrounded by trees, a short walk from a lovely garden and a short bike ride to the Commercial-street activity, then by all means go for this. The apartment is well furnished, the kitchen well-equipped, the bathroom spacious, the deck lovely to relax on - and the whole thing has the feel of a quiet forest hideaway. Jonathan, the owner, is a very nice and responsive guy. (Example: I traveled without car, so he picked me up at the ferry - fairly necessary, really, since it's pretty far out of town, but still nice - and then offered to take me to the bike place to get my rental bike, then offered to take me to the supermarket when he did his own shopping trip later - which was all quite nice since it meant I could stock up better for the whole two weeks.) I stayed here two weeks - spending well over my expected budget - and had no regrets whatsoever. For a couple, a family, or a single person ready to splurge on a spacious and lovely place, this might be it. For bikers it's excellent b/c you can easily access Rte. 6a south to explore Truro and Wellfleet, and also take the short cut over to the Nat'l Seashore paths directly without having to go through town - which I did often, creating a nice little start or end of day round-trip for myself, out along Race Pt Road and back via Bradford Street or Commercial from the West End. I hope to stay here again in the future.

Owner
I thank you for your glowing report though if you consider the center of Provincetown the town then we are about a 10 minute walk and are located in the East End of town or the quiet East End as some prefer to think of it. There are those who would rather stay in the middle of it all and this guest is correct the Gallery or any of our units are not for you, but if you would rather have a choice as to when you participate in the summer madness of the center of town, we provide that choice.
