Pakalana is located in the exclusive ocean front community of Puako. The Mauna Lani and Waikaloa resorts are just south, and the Hapuna Prince and Mauna Kea resorts are just north, with Pakalana in the center of paradise on the Kohala Coast. The Kohala cost offers world class shopping, dining, golf, and entertainment. Enjoy the benefits of the large resorts while staying at a private retreat to call you own during your stay. Pristine reefs, white sand beaches, abundant marine life, ancient petroglyphs fields are all within walking distance. Access to scuba, snorkeling, surfing, stand up padding, kayaking, whale watching, outrigger canoeing are all readily available for our guests ocean adventures.

It's been 30+ years since we as a whole family have been to Puako and I must say that Pakalana is truly a hidden treasure. Although she is visible from the road, once I entered the through the gates this place just took my breath away due to the shear size, the beautiful asian inspired gardens and landscape. My family and I got the feeling of tranquility and a real sense of having all the comforts of home. This place was the perfect spot for us all.
The great modern kitchen is a dream for all as it allowed us to multi task without bumping into one another. What was really fun was that we got to sit 12 of us at one time on the dining table and reminisced about the old times and to compare old Puako to the current times. Wow!!! What a transformation. Paved roads (hahahahaha)...
With the size of Pakalana it made everyone in my family feel a sense of belonging and being a part of something as we could all be in one place together at one time. The rooms were perfect, comfortable and inviting, and when the evening breeze blew...This kept the house temperature pleasant throughout our entire stay. The bathrooms were all modern and the deep soaking tubs (sighing) came in handy after a long day in the sun at the beach which is just couple of minutes walking distance from Pakalana.
This place will hold great memories for us all and we are already talking about our next family get together and staying at Pakalana in the near future.
The one thing which was so wonderful from start to finish was working with your Property Manager Jacque. She has gone above and beyond to accommodate me and my ohana (family). She is a gem and I will keep her in my contacts as she goes the distance in pleasing all. Mahalo Piha (Many Thanks) Jacque!!! You are great!!!
