The owners of Casa del Oso Blanco have shown great consideration and generosity in making their Mexican home one which all guests can enjoy. The house is splendidly equipped, fully living up to its magnificent setting. The infinity pool is spectacular, the local service unfailingly helpful and the neighbouring beaches are a laid-back delight.

My one piece of advice is not to follow our example in driving all the way from Mexico City to Puerto angel - it's too far on roads that are far too twisty. But once you've arrived at the house, you will feel a constant pleasure in your surroundings : looking out over the ocean or enjoying the comforts of your Mexican home.

      Rest and Relaxation

Left on 01/06/2012 for a stay in December 2011

Our party of 8 rented this and the adjoining property over the Christmas and New Years holiday. The property met our expectations, and the on-site staff was friendly and helpful. The view from the balcony cant be beat, and watching the sunrise from the bedroom window was a special treat. The location is great, the complex is just out of town so you feel removed from the hustle and bustle, however, it is easy and convenient to drive into town to enjoy the beach and to catch a quick meal. The nearby beach (playa del mina) was easily the most beautiful in the area. Great snorkeling and swimming, and for a change a scenery a quick drive to Zipolite is well worth the trip. The area feels so safe, we had absolutely no problems during our stay. We never worried to leave items on the beach while we enjoyed the water, and driving was always a fun adventure rather then a scary prospect. We greatly enjoyed our stay here, and look forward to visiting this part of Mexico again in the future.

      Awesome

We have been coming to this area for 15 years and have always had a hard time finding a decent place to stay (have tried most of the hotels in Puerto angel)...it was a very pleasant surprise when I stumbled on Casa del Oso Blanco. The house is very clean and well maintained..everything you need is included. The owner alan is fantastic to deal with and gives you lots of very helpful info on the area.
The location is great..saw whales daily. Pool is great and well looked after. Caretaker Mariano is very helpful and area is secure and safe. Would recommend if you plan to travel around that you rent a car...taxi's are cheap if you are only staying in local area. Great price for what you receive..would definately recommend this house.

The condo and property were a great find. I'm sure we'll be back. Snorkeling at Playa Estacahuite is awesome. Hanging out Playa la Mina in the late afternoon a real treat. The farmer's market in Pachutla is incredible! Lots of fresh, wonderful fish can be bought right off the boats in Puerto angel.

      Most relaxing days in mexico

Left on 09/08/2010 for a stay in August 2010

We stayed here for a few days while travelling around mexico. we were due for a rest. the views are awesome, the pool is great and the house is well layed out and equipped for families.

It was one of the quietest places we had been on our travels. no buses, no mufferless motorcycles and no booming radios. Just the sound of birds and the surf

Great place to hang out and chill with friends and family and yet close enough to party beaches and resturants.

      Had a great stay.

      Thanks

fantastic for do it yourself types

If you like to travel comfortably, find your own way, experience things at your own pace and bring family along this is an ideal destination. The house is not extravagant, but perfectly comfortable, and luxurious compared to the local standard. Casa del Oso Blanco is part of a private development project. The owners are kind, helpful and go out of their way to make you comfortable. We used the house as a place to relax. We cooked many of our own meals, enjoyed the beautiful pool and surroundings in the development. From there we ventured out on countless day trips to beaches, markets and the waterfalls. I believe this house best enjoyed if you have your own car, but possible without one if you want to focus on the pool and local beach.

Fabulous place to relax and enjoy small town Mexico

Left on 05/27/2010 for a stay in March 2010

Travelled with two small children ( aged 6 and 3).
Got to the complex where the house is located which is currently still under construction ( Casa Del Oso Blanco is one of the first houses to be completed.)

The house is great, has everything you need...wonderful views of the ocean, we even got to see some whales heading north from the patio.

The pool was amazing, split in half, with one half perfect for young children, depth was a couple feet deep, so the kids could run around and play easily, the other half for adults...and the views amazing!
However, the current walk to the pool was either really long or we had to walk through some construction, but as I said the area is still under development and in future will have a path leading down to pool area. Once path is there it will be a short 1 minute walk to pool. But the walk was well worth it, as the pool was great.

Pool could use some more seating, and tables for eating snacks...

The house is ocean view, you can walk down to the ocean, it is a small hike, takes about 10 minutes to get there...

People were amazing and everyone wants to help, english is limited as it's a small town, but that's what I love about it, getting a true mexican feel and learning a new language.

Grocery store is small, and I brought snacks in the suitcase that I knew my children would eat to help out. But you will find everything you need there, just not the brand names we are used to.

Restaurants, all over the place, with many right on the beach, there were some areas, where the ocean was so calm that I could sit at a table with my feet in the sand and watch the kids play in the sand/ocean edge.

It was a great week, and can't wait to go back again. I think once the construction is finished, it will be just amazing...
