The Schneider Family
Perry, Michigan2weeks of bliss
Left on 02/01/2012 for a stay in December 2011
We stayed at this wonderful property for 2 weeks at Christmas time. As a family of two teenage daughters we have a very busy schedule. Coming here gave us a much needed break from all of that. The condo was great, we all had enough space and it was well equipped with all we needed. Very relaxing space. The community it self gave us all we needed in food choices, shopping and water fun. The great thing was they really had a services offered for almost anything you wanted to do and if they didn't you could ask someone at the office and they would help you out. I would recommend you use the Omini Beach Club. Great place to hang out although the beach is small so get there early for a spot. The staff at that Omini is very friendly and informative. Puerto aventuras is a great place to really relax and enjoy all the beauty Mexico has to offer. We really enjoyed the snorkeling and scuba diving. The dive shop in the gated community was great. The fresh fruit market and the bakery were a hit with the teens, especially the chocolate chip cookies. Jane was a wealth of information and gave us alot of support. Awesome Trip. Thanks Jane and Dusty

Hudson, WisconsinA really nice condo
Left on 03/24/2011 for a stay in March 2011
We had a great vacation. the condo is really nice, and looks brand new. We did a lot of day trips from there and it was very convenient. also, there's a large grocery store nearby to stock up if you want to eat in to save money. the only caution I would have is if a person has trouble walking around it may be farther than you'd like from things (5 minute walk). We happen to like the location, it was quiet and peaceful! the only 'complaint' I can think of was that we couldn't figure out where the main office was right away, but that took maybe 2 minutes to find.
We will definitely try to stay here again in the near future. it's a no-brainer. -

Hudson, Wisconsinthis is a really great place!

We have been to Mexico several times, and wanted to be in the Puerto aventuras area with the ability to visit various places along the riviera maya without feeling like we were tied to staying on a resort. Also, Puerto aventuras is one of the safest places to stay as it's a secure area.
This condo is very nice. It's new, with granite countertops and nice furnishings. the maid service is terrific, and you can have it so they don't clean on a particular day if you don't feel the need. It's on the ground floor so just by walking out onto the back patio you have the resort amenities right there. From my perspective, not many people used the pools, recliners, the grill, etc. while I was there so it felt more like a private residence rather than a resort setting. The only people I wouldn't recommend it for would be 20 somethings looking to party.
There's a big grocery store about a mile away to load up on food, if you want to save money by cooking your own meals.
the condo is a 5 minute walk to the main area of Puerto aventuras. The main area has the dolphin swimming, restaurants, shops, a small 7-11 type store, etc. but if walking is a problem for you it may be farther away than you'd like, which is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars for location. There are places in town that rent bikes, golf carts, etc as well if getting around is a problem.
The condo is in a great location overlooking the marina, and at night, there's some bigger fish that come into the marina shallows for dinner, so bring a fishing pole if you like to fish.
It was a little difficult to find the main office upon arrival, since all the condos look alike. A little better signage out front of the office would be helpful, but we found it simply by asking one of the workers walking by.
The owners are terrific and can give you as much or as little help as you'd like with places to eat, visit, how to get around, etc. They have a second condo as well and were down when we were so it was nice to talk with them about the area.
there's a workout room and a lap swim pool as well as a kids pool, and it's a very safe area to simply walk around or jog.
We will definitely be back if our finances will allow it. It was a terrific place to vacation.Response from Jane Barclay - 03/26/2011

Thanks for writing, Steve. I am SO glad you enjoyed your vacation! And I'm glad you enjoyed our quaint little gated community. Not to mention the WHOLE area. We have been trying out the several spots you suggested... and LOVE Carboncitos in Playa. We are wondering how we missed it.
NOW... back to the snorkeling.... we fly out Tuesday. Time to get back to work. :)

OregonWonderful Vacation!
Left on 09/09/2010 for a stay in December 2009
This was a fantastic vacation location. My husband and I stayed in this condo while many other family members stayed elsewhere around Puerto aventuras. The condo was great. It had everything we could have wanted. It was clean, updated, comfortable, quiet, and yet within easy access to the main part of town. The wading pool right outside the back door was a great way to cool down and the beach was only a short walk away.
We checked in late at night, so I think the most difficult part of that was finding which unit was ours, in the dark, without assistance. But after hours check-in was clearly described and we had no other problems. The staff in the office was friendly and helpful, and recommended some local cenotes when we asked for good things to do.
Puerto aventuras is a great town to vacation in. There's stuff going on, on the beach and around the main dolphin area, but it's calm enough that it is nice for travelers of all ages, and it's close (a short taxi ride away) to Playa del Carmen, which is more of a bustling area that is fun to visit for a day.
We would definitely consider going back! -

My husband and I greatly enjoyed our vacation here. Puerto Aventura is a delightful little town, with a wonderful 'square' featuring a dolphin pool, and a manatee pool. It is ringed with restaurants and shops. The beach is, of course, gorgeous, with good snorkeling.
The accomodations are lovely, luxurious and very comfortable. The entire little community is very walkable. There is a golf course, and a dock where you can watch the fishermen clean their 'catch' and even buy directly from them! One of the local restaurants, Gringo Dave's, would cook it up for you, and add a few sides. We also enjoyed the entertainment of a fire eater at Gringo Daves!
We had a GREAT TIME.Response from Jane Barclay - 04/09/2010

This is the best vacation spot! The accomodations are incredible, just as described. The owners are the best !!! There is plenty to do in P.A. there is no need to leave, but if you choose, there are other great places to explore very close by. The pool is wonderful. There are lots of great places for early morning walks. The shops and restaurants around the dolphin pools are perfect after a day in the sun. I would and have recommend staying here for a great vacation
