Left on 11/14/2012 for a stay in November 2012

As most of us seasoned travellers know...the people make the place!! Let there be no doubt, the owners of Brisa Caribe are the most incredible hosts. They will organise everything from chefs (highly recommend), scuba diving/snorkel tours, private boat/fishing tours, etc. They are always at your service with a smile and local knowledge.
Upon arrival, you will feel the incredible comfort of 'home' when you walk thru the front doors and this place will truly be your home while you are there. The attention to detail is fantastic; the layout for larger groups is extremely functional whilst still providing privacy; the cleanliness is top notch and sleeping under the stars is an optional highlight.
We were a large group of mates staying at Brise Caribe, they provided us a fabulous, fun-filled and relaxing holiday. If you are looking for a place with loads of restaurants, bars, activities outside your very private local - look no further. This is the place to stay!! We'll be back as often as possible!

Left on 11/14/2012 for a stay in November 2012

Although we had seen lots of pictures of Brisa Caribe before our arrival we were still amazed by our accommodations when we arrived. We drew straws to determine what guest room we would be staying in but it didn't matter as they were all beautiful, spacious and interesting. There were 18 of us but we still had lots of room and space to spend some alone time as well. One of the things I looked forward to each day was our super meals! We had Tina and the Mexican chef during our stay and they were both excellent. Puerto aventuras offered up lots to do without having to leave the area. On the days that we stayed to enjoy the pool and beach we would wander into the shopping area for happy hour. We visited several restaurant's and bars and sampled some local drinks and food. I felt safe going for my runs in the area. A run around all of the resorts and private residences was about 3 mkiles and offered shade and scenery. We have already raved about Brisa Caribe to a few of our other groups of friends. We think that they would love to have a big beautiful house all to themselves rather than the standard all-inclusive, which can tend to be somewhat generic. Oh ya and I didn't miss the loud guy at the pool leading water aerobics and annoying games that you have to listen to. The house was very clean and the staff were professional, courteous and friendly. Thanks for everything Doug and Shelly, Cary's B'day was a blast!!

First of all this tropical oasis was a lot more than we ever imagined it to be.Being on the shore of the caribean ocean has its perks.Laying in bed and watching the sunrise was a new experience as was snorkeling right in front of our beach volleyball court. This gorgeous resort was built with meticulas oversight to include everything to make our stay here a warm and unforgetable experience. You can walk 10 minuets and enjoy local drinks and food along side the dolphin exhibit and pick up a t shirt or souvenir.Doug and shelly,s hospitality will forever be remembered and we will all definitley be back for more...

Left on 11/03/2012 for a stay in October 2012

We just spent a week at Brisa Caribe with our two daughters, their spouses and their four children. It was a most enjoyable and relaxing experience. The house works well with its two floors of living space and the rooftop dining area so that family members can both be together but also find space to relax. The two pools are great for adults and young children. The Mexican cooks produced meals that allowed for memorable family experiences. The owner keeps the villa fastidious. We highly recommend Brisa Caribe.

What an awesome trip! We had a group of 5 couples and the house was perfect. Brisa Caribe is extremely well maintained and appointed . The house is beautifully decorated and has a fabulous roof top deck. The location is excellent as it is close to Tulum, Akumal, and Playa del Carmen. Doug was a great host and had cold drinks waiting for us on arrival. I would highly recommend hiring "Tina" to cook some meals. She cooked 4 fabulous dinners for us. The owner has thoughtfully taken care of every detail. We all had an excellent time and are looking forward to coming back.

Doug's vacation home is outstanding. He lives on the property in a separate guest house and keeps it in perfect shape. There are multiple dining areas with bars and grills to seat over a dozen guests. The breeze travels through the home nicely but each room has separate air conditioning. The German cook Tina is incredible. I highly recommend having her cook most your dinners as she is cheaper than most restaurants and does such a nice job. The kitchen though is well appointed for cooking yourself and there's a nearby grocery store. Make sure to play beach volleyball. And rent Doug's snorkeling gear at a fraction of the rental price elsewhere. The wifi was pretty decent allowing us to video call home. And the staff was also very good; absolutely no theft even though I left money all over the place.

      The time of our lives!

Left on 02/14/2012 for a stay in February 2012

I just wanted to take a couple of moments to say thank you. I have just returned home to frozen Winnipeg from your slice of paradise and I have to say last week was one of the highlights of my 36 years. The villa was everything we hoped for and so much more. Even with our group of 13 we never felt crowded and it was easy to find a spot away from everyone for peace and quiet. The villa was immaculate and spacious and felt like a home, not some cookie cutter rental property. The staff was very warm and friendly and always had a smile for us. The food the ladies prepared for us was fantastic as well and each night was a new treat. Some of our group was concerned the Puerto aventuras was going to be too far off the beaten path but soon found that everything we could want was within easy walking distance. My wife and 8 year old son enjoyed an afternoon they will treasure forever when they went to the Dolphin Discovery. They got to swim with dolphins, manatees, sea lion and even sharks. The facility is well run by very informed and friendly trainers. We also booked a fishing charter through Capt. Rick's and went for an afternoon of fishing. We met Leo on the docks and he looked after us like we were family. We went out with Capt. Lala and his 1st mate. As it turned out the fishing wasn't spectacular on that day, but we still got a couple and had great fun. They also run a first class operation. I spent a few days snorkeling right in front of the villa and have to say it was simply breath-taking. A number of our group had booked snorkeling charters to various reefs, but all came back and said they saw more and in greater numbers right out front. I could go on forever about all the great experiences we had at Brisa Caribe, it helped me cross many items off my life's "bucket list”. Thank you, and hope to see you again. Feel free to use this email or parts of it for your comments page if you like, I meant every word.

We had a wonderful stay at Brisa Caribe and hope to return soon. The photos do not do the house justice--it is absolutely gorgeous and set up perfectly for large groups wanting to enjoy their time together in a beautiful locale.

Doug and his staff were wonderful to work with. I would highly recommend hiring cooks to prepare your meals during your stay. Their food was fabulous and it was such a treat to let someone else do the cooking and cleaning.

We have stayed at many nice hotels in the us and Mexico, but Brisa Caribe may convert me to staying in vacation homes instead.

      A week of unforgetable memories

Left on 02/06/2012 for a stay in February 2012

The house was amazing, spacious, beautiful and very very clean. There were people in everyday cleaning up after us which was a nice touch, especially when you have a group as large as we did. We had people come in and prepare breakfast and dinner for us, which I highly recomend if you can, because the homecooked meals were amazing. Every guest room had their own bathroom, which again comes in handy with a group as large as ours. Before the trip I was a little hesitant when I found on the map that the villa was aways from town, but in truth Puerto aventuras is small enough that almost everything is within walking distance. Of course a golf cart does come in handy. I went to Puerto aventuras to celebrate my friends wedding, and I have to say it was an absolutely perfect week.

Superb accomodations. I highly recommend Brisa Caribe. Villa was extraordinaly nice and comfortable. Pools and sand volleyball with wonderful ocean views. I would encourage visitors to have the cooks prepare meals. They were very good cooks and did the dishes. It was so easy and nice to have meals prepared. Only criticism is the bikes at the villa are junk. I recommend visitors spend a little money and rent golf carts to cruise around the village.

Fantastic Gorgeous Setup for large groups

Left on 02/06/2012 for a stay in January 2012

We had a group of 12 people that just went for a week getaway. The house was fantastic with a staff that took fantastic care of us. Two pools with a sand volleyball court which all got lots of use. Only wish we had which we totally survived without was there wasn't a hot tub. We knew that going in but still wished for it a little while we were there. Doug faciliated transportations, cooks, yoga, and a fishing outing. The cooks and meals were great. They did the shopping and we set the meals and the time and couldn't have asked for more. We didn't have nay problems at all and would absolutely recommend it again. There were restaurants within walking distance in Puerto adventuras that were very enjoyable and we went to Playa del Carmen two evenings which was only 15 minutes away. Overall, a great trip that was extremely smooth and well handled.

The pool was cleaned, beds made and drink refrigerator stocked by the housekeeping staff. They spent most of the time in the owners attached house. The location was walking distance to town.Easy to get cabs too.

      Luxury accommodations

Left on 08/25/2011 for a stay in July 2011

This is the third year we have rented one of the properties Doug represents and our first year in Brisa Caribe. We have not been disappointed by any of the homes, but Brisa Caribe is the diamond in the crown. The home is beautifully appointed (hard to choose a favorite room) and has the most spectacular rooftop bar and grill -- perfect for lunch, cocktail hour and general relaxation. The two living areas were more than adequate to accommodate our group, but we spent most of our time outside. The location is perfect for those who don't want to rent a car. We do rent a small car to get around and take advantage of the van service, which will stop at a local grocery store while you pick up basics. You can always arrange excursions through the local hotels or through the property manager. Brisa Caribe offers a nice convenience of a fully stocked bar. You either have to replace or pay for what you take. Sera, the local chef, was phenomenal. She cooked breakfast and dinner for us every day. We wished we could bring her home with us. While half of our family enjoyed scuba diving, the rest of us were perfectly content to enjoy the villa and the view. We already are planning our next vacation in Puerto. I'm thinking one week isn't enough!

      Beautiful Villa

Left on 05/23/2011 for a stay in May 2011

My husband and I got married on the beach at Brisa Caribe in May 2011, We had 18 of our closes family members there with us. We had a beautiful time, great location(quite) in a beautiful little quite town of Peurto adventuras. There is no direct beach access in front of the Villa however it is a short 3 minute walk to the Dreams Hotel beautiful beaches. This Villa is tastefully decorated and every bedroom has a different theme. My favorite part of our stay was the different animals we saw on the property(3 iguanas, racoons, gekcos and an odd oversized gerbil looking rodent?) another beautiful feature is the roof top terrece(this is where we held our reception) has an amazing veiw and a great breeze. The chef Tina is amazing( recommended for sure). The most beautiful room in my opinion is the Bombay Suite(where we stayed). I would recommend to anyone that stays here to rent a vehicle or be prepared to spend a lot on cab fare to travel all the tourist locations along the Riviera Mayan. The only thing that I didn't like was the first night we stayed there our power went out 4 times and we only got our room cleaned twice simply because I have a baby whos nap time was the same time as the maids needed to clean our room(not their fault) I always said dont worry about it. But we absolutly loved our stay!!! We would recommend this Villa to anyone, great for romance, play, family, children(with a childrens pool) and occasion

Everything from beginning to end was fantastic. The villa was excellent with all the amenities necessary. Location was great for access to local establishments and the highway for 'road trips'. Getting connected with Vickie for planning activities was easy and effective. Highly recommend the local Mexican cooking services and setting up an in house massage - we only wished we'd done more of both of these things earlier in the week after we found out how incredible they were (and reasonably priced)!

Doug has a great thing going here and it was one of the better trips we've been on. And with 5 couples and one 2 year old that's saying a lot!

      Perfect villa and location

Left on 03/23/2011 for a stay in March 2011

After much research, my husband and I decided to rent this villa with 7 other couples to celebrate his 50th birthday. We were not disappointed in our choice. In fact, on our flight home we could not think of one thing that could improved at the villa to have made our stay any better. The villa is even more impressive in person than in the pictures on the internet. With 16 people on the property for 7 days, we didn't once feel that we didn't have enough space to spread out and relax in smaller group or individually. We would have been perfectly content to never leave the villa for the entire week but the location is so perfect that you won't be able to resist the short drive to Tulum, Akumul, Playa del Carmen, area cenotes, or mayan ruins. Each and every person felt the same way when we left: We won't hesitate to rent this villa again.

The entire villa was just perfect for our large group! And, I can't say enough about Doug's staff who went out of their way to make our stay stress free. We loved the location of the Villa...such a fun walk into town to stroll around the Marina. If you have never been to Puerto, you are in for a wonderful treat! Wonderful Experience, Great Service

Left on 01/04/2011 for a stay in December 2010

We have rented villas from Doug Wasmuth on two separate occassions. The most recent was in December 2010. We stayed in the Brisa Caribe Villa for one week. Doug is an honorable business man who can be trusted. I have no apprehension doing business with him. He will go out of his way to make certain you have a positive vacation experience! Brisa Caribe is vacation dream. The villa is nothing short of outstanding and his staff does an excellent job of maintaining the premises. I highly recommend hiring Sara as your cook if you like Mexican food. She did a great job taking care of my family. Puerto aventuras is a great place to vacation. It is a safe community where I can turn the kids loose with little concern. There are so many things to do in Puerto that you can fill you entire vacation time. Additionally, there are many things to do outside of Puerto (like great golfing) within an hours drive! Don't hesitate doing business with Doug and vacationing in Puerto aventuras. We have never been disappointed.

Lastly, don't forget to purchase travel insurance. We got stuck in Florida on the way home because of the Northeast blizard. We were stuck in an airport hotel for 4 days and we are putting in an $1800 insurance claim for delayed travel.

I was initially hesitant to book a destination online for so many folks (18 of us, age 1 year to 75) . My fears were diminished when I accessed your well constructed website and read the raves from your visitors. The reality was even better. Though the website is terrific, nothing compares to the first glimpse of the Gulf from the front door!! Then we met Vickie and Jesus and Tina and things got better and better. Your staff is equal to the fabulous house. Tina served amazing meals that had us waiting with eager anticipation every day, accommodating vegans and allergy restrictions with aplomb. We'll be back - my grandkids deemed it "best ever vacation" and we've been to a lot of great places in the world. Thanks for everything.

The house is in a perfect location in Puerto aventuras. It allowed us to do everything we wanted to do with minimal use of a car. We had a large group with children between 2 and 11 and adults of all ages, and everyone had a wonderful time. The property was well kept and the staff very friendly. We would definitely recommend this home to anyone.

Puerto aventuras is itself a great destination. We had a successful fishing trip with Captain Ricks and Sera and her family cooked our Mahi-mahi to perfection. Spectacular week!

Left on 06/30/2010 for a stay in June 2010

Our family of 15 (from 5 to 73 years old) stayed in Brisa Caribe in celebration of my parents' 50th wedding anniversary. Although I would love to be selfish and give it a terrible review so everyone doesn't discover this gem, I would have to tell a big lie!

Brisa Caribe is a stunning home that is ideally suited for large groups. Each bedroom (9) has it's own bath, there are multiple (4+) living areas (both inside and out), two pools, dining table for 14 plus bar seating. It is equipped with every thing you could possibly think of needing during your stay.

One of the best choices we made for the week was to pay a little more for a cook to prepare breakfast and dinner for our group. Although we LOVE to cook, it was a real luxury to leave the work and planning up to Sera, her sisters, and mother. We spent a lot more hours of each day exploring and relaxing as a result of their amazing meal preparation. Additionally, at there time there is nothing more than a very small convenience store in Puerto Aventuras. We were happy to not spend much of our time (and cab fares) going to Playa del Carmen to grocery shop!

The owner's staff was invaluable in helping us plan excursions along the Mexican Riviera. Our week included deep sea fishing (right out of the marina at Puerto Aventuras), snorkeling and lunch in Akumal, a trip to Jungle Spa near Puerto Morelos for the adults, shopping on 5th Avenue in Playa del Carmen, a tour of Tulum (ask for Alex as your tour guide through Paradise Tours), and Dolphin Discovery at the PA marina.

Although we filled the week with plenty of exciting adventures, some of the most precious times were spent just relaxing at this beautiful in a stunning location: cousins and uncles playing in the pool, napping or reading in the hammocks and lounge chairs, and after dinner cocktails on the roof to watch the sunset together.

I don't think anyone could ever be disappointed with a week at Brisa Caribe!

Great Vacation at Brisa Caribe !

Left on 06/05/2010 for a stay in March 2009

We had a wonderful week at the beautiful Brisa Caribe Villa. Our party was three families, with kids ranging from 10 years of age to 20. It was a perfect arrangement for our group, We enjoyed the spacious Villa and the pools, and apprciated the staff and their attention to detail. Puerto adventuras is a great little village where we found everything we could possibly need, and we felt very safe at all times of the day and night during our trips into town. We would recommend this Villa and could not be happier with how Doug and his staff took care of us.

Quiet ocean front villa that's close to lots of activities.

Left on 05/27/2010 for a stay in January 2010

We were at Brisa Caribe for some rest and relaxation, rather than a Mexican party vacation. We stayed in the Bombay bedroom on the pool side of the villa and loved it. It’s an open room with high ceilings, beautiful decor and an awesome view of the ocean. Large screen doors let you feel the breeze the area is famous for. Between the screen doors and the ceiling fan, we never had to use the AC and were very comfortable.

The layout of the gardens, pool and beach volleyball court allow for quiet and privacy – perfect for book reading, enjoying drinks and taking in the view.

We are rookie snorkeler/scuba divers and could enjoy both from the doorstep. I love to fish and was able to fly fish the shallow waters 100 meters up the beach, and also walk to the dock for the deep-sea charter boats.

The staff does a great job of looking after everything and staying relatively invisible. The odd time we did meet them they were very friendly.

A great place to stay, and we will definitely be back.

Without question, the decision to stay at Villa Bisa Caribe was the best family travel decision I have ever made. Our family group consisted of 4 generations ranging in age from 75 years young to just 3 years old. Staying at Villa Brisa Caribe allowed each person to do his/her own thing and still be able to gather together for drinks, dinner or to lounge around the pool without the requirement to set times and meeting places (who wants to clock watch when they're on vacation?).

I have used Doug's house twice taking customers there to fish and relax. It is great having everyone at one central location. The food and accomodations were both superb and I received great comments from the customers, even asking when we are going back. The location is ideal whether you want to go to Playa Del Carmen, Cozumel or down to Tulum.

I highly recommend this house for larger parties who would like to all stay together.

A beautiful way to be at home in Paradise!

Left on 05/17/2010 for a stay in March 2009

We arrived in Brisa Caribe in late February and were able to relax as soon as we arrived. The owners were extremely accommodating and created a sense that we were truly at a home away from home. Each of the rooms in Brisa Caribe has a different theme attached to it and is adorned with authentic artifacts from the area that it is modeled after. We stayed in the "honeymoon" suite which was aptly named the "Bombay Room" and held wonderful artifacts from the area. We awoke to a beautiful ocean front view every morning and the rooms were expertly cleaned by the time we got home from our adventures in the afternoon. The property was well kept and the fridge was always full of cool drinks. We were a quick walk away from the main restaurant and shopping area of Puerto Aventuras, as well as the Dolphin Adventure and fishing expedition area. A 20 min cab ride brought us to Playa Del Carmen when we wanted more options and the local adventure sites were minutes away. I would extremely recommend the property to others as we were able to "get away from it all" and still have all the luxuries of home in a setting that was relaxing, fun adventurous, and beautiful. Plenty of room for large groups and a ton of fun for even a couple to enjoy the beauty of this wonderful villa!

      Fantastic getaway

Left on 05/13/2010 for a stay in December 2009

Wonderful unit, great location, everyone in our group had a great time. The proximity to the town of Puerto Aventuras and the beach was great, the access to the bicycles made it even better. We highly recommend having Tina cook your meals, she offered fantastic service and tasty food. If I had to offer a few suggestions it would be for the house staff to be more involved with you during your stay and also change of sheets/towels and beach towels more often during the stay. If they could learn to anticipate your needs, offer their services, etc as we have had in some of the other units we have rented, it would have surely been a 5 star vacation.

We are considering returning in 2010.

This was our second visit and we will return. The house is absolutely beautiful and Doug's hospitality was again; perfect. The staff is incredible and everyone keeps the property immaculate. We hired the cooks and the food is unquestionably worth every penny and worth not leaving the house! We did go out for several lunches and a few dinners and that too was a blast. Playa is a great town with so much to do, see, and great shopping! The people are sweet and kind. I highly recommend this home! You can't go wrong.

      Wonderful Family Vacation

Left on 05/03/2010 for a stay in December 2009

Our family of 15 had a wonderful vacation. The house was unbelieveable, each room was unique. The service was great, all the employees were very friendly. We took family pictures on the roof and we have hundreds of pictures of the beautiful area.
The area was great and we ate at the restaurants at the marina, where we also swam with the dolphins. This is well worth the money, they spent alot of time letting you pet the dolphins and this was the familys favorite experience. We went sky parachute riding, took scuba lessons and went to see the ruins. Shopping at the marketplace was great, girls all came home with beautiful bright colored dresses.

Tina was our cook and had we known what great meals she prepared we would have had her every night. The grandchildren want to bring her home. We just can't say enough about our trip, we would definatley go back again and stay with Doug , he and his staff were very helpful with all our arrangements.

Don't hesitate about making arrangments to go here. Doug made everything easy, the trip from the airport, recommendations on everything. They really know how to make your vacation GREAT.

We had four families, eight adults and ten children, stay at Brisa Caribe for Spring Break and everything was wonderful. The house is truly spectacular with a lot of attention to details. Doug helped us set up chef's to come and the bar was fully stocked when we arrived. Puerto Aventura is ideal location for a family vacation. We liked it much more than Playa.
