Puerto Escondido is a phenomenal Vacation Destination. From deep sea fishing, surfing, and boogie boarding on the ocean, kayaking with the vast species of birds on the lake, to horseback trail rides up to the waterfalls and daytrips to coffee and Mezcal plantations. For outdoor enthusiasts, there is no shortage of things to do. May was a great time to visit the resort. The last time we were at the resort, there was only one building, now there are three. There are some more starting including the clubhouse. We like the location of the bottom floor beachfront unit.
The town of Puerto Escondido is simply amazing, exactly what we were looking for. There are many nice beaches in the area whether you want to swim or surf. If you want to try fishing it is reasonable. Ask at the resort for either Clint or Walter to contact Levi, the boat name is Marissa. This was the second visit and both times went out with Levi. Levi speaks English which is good because my Spanish is terrible.
You may also want to try kayaking in the Manaltipec Lagoon, only minutes from the resort. The resort can also arrange this for you, we had two double kayaks and went at about 8am and it was breathtaking and relaxing.
There is free wifi at the resort and what was nice is that you can get signal around the pool. The pool bar has a wide variety of drinks, one of my wife's favorites was the Mango Daquari. Wilbur (our bartender) uses fresh Mangos and not a concentrate!
We dined 6 of the 7 nights we were there at the resort. It was nice to have the kitchen for lunches and breakfast but the dinners were so good and reasonable we didn't bother to cook. We did cook on the last night to get rid of some things we bought for our stay and the kitchen was well supplied.
I would recommend Unit 513 if you are looking for a beachfront 4 bedroom unit. This unit has upgraded to 2 King master suites and the owners added Tv's in each master suite. The third bedroom has two queen size beds and the 4th bedroom has a queen size bed, so a nice unit to share with another family.
There is no need to carry a key around , each unit has a push button combination entry although having the ground floor we just used one of the many sliding glass doors.
There was construction at the resort but we didn't notice any noise and it didn't affect our stay. We felt that the staff were genuinely concerned that all of our needs were being met.
The resort is about a 15 minute ride into town and the resort offers a shuttle at a nominal charge. We had rented a car and found the driving easy but next time even if we have a car may take the shuttle a couple of times.
We landed in Huatulco (where we picked up our car) and was arriving at the resort at about 7pm. When e-mailing a few days prior to us checking in we were asked by the resort if any shuttle was needed from the airport and also if we would like to have supper ready for us when we arrived. We thought this service was excellent.
We love the location of the resort, close to town but able to walk down the beautiful sandy beach for miles, the privacy is great.
We brought some duty free with us and enjoyed sitting on the beachfront patio in the evening sipping on a cocktail... the refrigerators are even equipped with ice makers.
We found that there is quite a bit of value at this new resort. -

This resort is absolutely amazing, from the spacious luxury condos with full kitchens, granite counters, two masterbedrooms facing the ocean with glass doors to a private deck to the infinity pool overlooking the waves and the swim up pool bar. Each condo has a beautiful living and dining area with Wifi, tv - cable tv from Canada so you can find all your favourite shows...although with the beach and ocean literally steps from your deck I can't imagine why you would watch tv. Everything at this resort is high end! The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and always helpful. The food for lunch and dinner was not only affordable, it was fantastic. We ate at the resort 6 of 7 nights even though we love to go into town and see different areas. Unit 513 has a huge private deck on the ground floor with amazing views of the beach, ocean and infinity pool. Glass doors open up so the living/dining/kitchen area opens up completely to the deck and the sound of the waves. We will definitely return and will be requesting unit 513. Can't wait until the Clubhouse and second pool are finished to enjoy the gym and spa. Although there is construction onsite, the price to rent a brand new 4 bedroom of this quality more than makes up for any inconvenience.
Places to see while there, definitely Playa Carrazalillo, Roco Blanco, Playa Zicatela. Kayaking on the laguana in the early morning was a highlight. Lots of birds, water was like glass and so warm. Also, go out fishing. You will see lots of turtles. We also saw dolphins while having coffee on our deck the first morning there. There is a great market for fresh fruits and vegetables and a street market every night near Playa Principal which was wonderful. Can't say enough about the beauty of Puerto Escondido and Vivo Resorts! Best place in Mexico that we have ever been and we have gone to many different parts. -

Owner - 4-bedroom Condo, Unit 123 - 1st Visit March Break, 2012!
It was quite the momentous week as I moved into our condo for the first time since its completion. I spent the week with my teacher daughter and two of her teacher friends - it was great fun to share our 'dream' with one of our children and experience life at Vivo in reality! Vivo's motto has been, "Making dreams into reality”, but we've now changed the motto to read, "Dreams are even better in reality!”. It's almost impossible to describe the gorgeous condo, its ample size and beautiful furniture and décor. The 4 bedrooms/3 full baths provide lots of space and privacy and is very suitable for family gatherings or 2-4 couples sharing. The patio and ocean view is spectacular with unbelievable sunrises and sunsets. The lulling sound of the ocean waves calms the soul and the quiet beauty of the ocean in front with miles of beach, the mountains and fresh-water lake behind, and the infinity pool beside us reminds me that there is more to life than busyness! The Vivo staff are so happy and anxious to please in every and any way. Nothing is too much to ask. While it's great to rest & relax, it's fun to know that a trip to town (Puerto Escondido) is only a few kilometres away with lots of shopping and quaint beach restaurants. The local people are happy, friendly, and fun! We look forward to retirement when we can spend more time to enjoy our 'dream'.

Visit to 4-bedroom Condo, Unit 123
Our experience at Vivo Resorts was unforgettable! The 4-bedroom beachfront condo is luxury at its finest, with a 180 degree view of the ocean to die for! There was ample space for us all, and the condo is very comfortable to live in. Listening to the sounds of the breaking waves both night and day was very soothing and good for the soul. The staff at Vivo are amazing too, and were always there to help or to answer any questions we had! In addition to relaxing in the infinity pool every day or going for a leisurely stroll along the miles and miles of beaches, there is lots to see and do in and around Puerto Escondido! We enjoyed swimming and snorkling at Carizalillo Beach, whale and dolphin watching, and a fantastic guided tour of the lagoon! The people are very friendly and made us feel welcome! I can't wait to go back! It's Heaven on Earth!

If you are looking for luxury accomodations, on a secluded beach with great weather, only minutes to a quaint, clean, safe mexican town, then look no further, this resort is excellent! This resort is brand new and the clubhouse and spa isn't finished yet but the price per night reflects it. With a full kitchen and all of the fresh produce at the market as well as the great selection of restaurants in town, not having a restaurant onsite is only a minor inconvienence. When all the ammenities are built I would expect the rates to double for these goregeous accomodations. We absolutely enjoyed every minute of our stay and I am a bit worried about reviewing these accomodations because I want to keep it all for myself. All in all an excellent location, town, people, weather, water temp, beds, ...and almost everything else you could ask for.
