Description from the owner

Casa del Cielo — You will want to visit again and again and you'll be telling all your friends to do the same. This newly constructed 4 bedroom, 2400 square foot (220 square meter) modern Pacific Coast style home is a Puerto Escondido landmark. As you arrive into town from the south, the first house on the left is this artfully designed home, back dropped by a clear view of the entire bay.

The home is perched on a breezy hill with 360 views of Puerto Escondido and the surrounding Sierra Madre peaks that border it to the northeast. 'Casa Del Cielo' or 'Heaven's House', enjoys magnificent views from every room, and indoor / outdoor livi...Read more

Everything in Puerto is about 5 minutes away by car. From the house you will find taxis and collectivos easily accessible. We have parking for one car on the property and there is plenty of safe parking on the street in front and beside the house. It is a 5-10 minute walk to the beach and to restaurants. It is a quiet neighbourhood, though you may hear some chickens and dogs playing. The house is perched on a hill overlooking the entire bay. Amazing Views

Left on 03/28/2013 for a stay in March 2013

You are never really sure if you are inside or outside in this house and that is the amazing thing about it. The photos don't really do it justice.

The house is secure and private as it is completely gated, yet has views for miles due to its location near the top of the hill. The "throwback" surf beach area with sandy roads, smoothie stands and a few fish taco joints is a 10 minute walk down the hill, while the main "developed" beach area is a 5-10 minute drive.

When we were there the dogs and roosters were definitely "playing", but nothing a set of earplugs couldn't fix.

This is the real deal for staying like a local - but with plenty of style.

Sunset from the top floor deck.

Hey Adam, thanks for your review! Earplugs work or alternatively a couple of tequilas. I prefer just to focus on the sound of crashing waves instead. Come again soon!

      Casa azul

Left on 11/30/2012 for a stay in March 2012

Lucked out staying here once, and then returned with my fiancee.
A short ride into town on a collectivo, or a 15 minute stroll to some nice surfing and quiet beaches. Perfect home base. The only reason I'd give Casa azul any negative comments is so that it's not snapped up when we return next year. Lots of open space, hammocks in shay corners, a prime view over the hills down to the beach, and away from the main strip in town which is just too busy for us. It's a private retreat.

      Super fun place to stay!

Left on 11/08/2012 for a stay in March 2012

I stayed in this blue house in Mexico last year in March. I couldn't ask for a better place to hang out while learning to surf and explore Puerto Escondido. It's kinda like a fun house with lots of open air, hammocks, a rooftop patio for incredible sunrise and sunset meditations, great gardens, spacious bathrooms, comfy beds and lots of neat creative touches! I recommend it hands down, in fact, I am planning my stay there again for spring:) do it!

      Had The Best Time!!!

Left on 11/08/2012 for a stay in January 2011

Paul thanks so much for having me and my girlfriend at your house in Puerto.
Beautiful weather, beautiful views of the ocean made for a great stay.
The open air design makes you truly appreciate the sea breeze.
The location of the house is perfect, not too far from town, where the action is.
If you're a surfer looking to surf one of the best waves in the world or a traveller just looking to get away and spend some time in an authentic part of Mexico, i highly recommend staying at pj's abode.
Thanks again Paul, it was a time we will never forget

best month of my life was in this house in puerto escondido

Left on 11/07/2012 for a stay in December 2011

i spent an amazing month in puerto and staying in this house was the highlight of my trip, and probably the best month of my life.

it is a beautiful place with all the amenities. a great kitchen for cooking and a spectacular patio and backyard for eating and entertaining. amazing views and atmosphere. it is quiet and peaceful, and a short walk to the beautiful beach, great restaurants and fun nightlife.

the bedrooms are spacious and breezy. i had some of my best sleeps ever in the beds and amazing naps in the many hammocks. sitting in the pool off the master bedroom, drinking ice cold beers and watching the sunset was the icing on the cake.

paul was a pleasure to deal with. he made sure we had everything we needed and went out of his way to take care of us. i did a lot of research and the price was very reasonable.

i would highly recommend this place and i cant wait to return soon for another stay.

      Wonderful experience

Left on 11/07/2012 for a stay in October 2012

If you appreciate a spectacular view - probably the best in Puerto Escondido - along with having a garden growing full of papaya, banana, pineapple and herbs, then this is the rental for you. With easy access to public transportation and a short walk down to the beach (10min) you get the full Mexican experience during your stay. Every day was full of interesting sights and interactions with the local people. The area of the beach near the house is also much quieter than the more commercial area closer to the main town. It is perfect for relaxing in a hammock, sipping coconut water, and letting any stress unwind. The house itself is large with an open air concept that made for refreshing breezes and temperatures even in the heat of midday. There is much in the way of privacy between the bedrooms as they are separated on their own floors. It makes for a easy and comfortable living experience. I spent several months there and I can't wait to go back soon!!
