Description from the owner
Two luxurious ocean side villas on the edge of secluded Dalaruan Cove ~ which is an offshoot of the main Puerto Galera Bay. The Villas can be rented individually or together. The Oceanside Villa has six bedrooms while the Boathouse has four to five bedrooms, all with en suite facilities. Each villa is rented in its entirety and not on a room-by-room basis, thus they are particularly popular with families and larger groups. The open terraces are extensive with dramatic views of Dalaruan Cove and Puerto Galera Bay. Costs are surprisingly reasonable, and discounts are available for extended stays. Most bedrooms have stunning wake-up views...Read more

The two beautiful houses located in Puerto Galera have an spectacular view of the Dalaruan Cove. The houses are well equipped and built to enjoy the area. It shows they were thoughtfully planned and well built. The house provides entertainment for everybody from water sport, kayak, dingy sailboat to dvd player and wireless internet. The managers were very caring and they were in constant communication with us so we always felt taking care of. We would recommend these properties any time. They are secluded but at the same time they are easily accessed by motor boat and car or taxi.

Suze and allen were marvellous, accepting our booking very last minute and helping arrange our arrival. The Boathouse where we stayed was picture book! It feels like an enormous treehouse and the views are just second to none. We arrived by 'spider boat' as my four year old called it and were helped over the jetty with our luggage by the hosts. Dinners were prepared, our errands sorted and we were able to take day trips to wonderful out of the way places. Having said that the massive outdoor verandah and lounges were the ideal part of the stay. The main room upstairs has the most spectacular glass frontage, however we didn't end up staying there as I was nervous my three year old might wander out of the other room and on to the verandah - and whilst their are railings, they are more adult size than child size. Overall I'd highly recommend this accommodation.

Pg Villas is a wonderful, secluded Villa with a beautiful view and lots of room. We went as a group of 8, and everyone had ample space as there is 6 bedrooms. The price is a bargain for sure at $150/ night and it looks better in person than it does in photos.
It is boat access property, so you are a bit secluded from nightlife / restaurants. However there is house staff who can do the shopping and meal preparation for you, so no need to leave the villa if you don't want to. Access to the surrounding areas is by Banca or via the dirt access road.
The living rooms are spacious and well equipped and the lanai / dining is absolutely beautiful. Bedrooms are adequate and each with ensuite bath. The only downside I would say about the property is the bathrooms weren't the best, the showers in a couple of the rooms didn't very good, so we just shared bathrooms. There are quite a few stairs, so disabled people / elderly might find it a bit bothersome or difficult
Overall, it's an amazing value for the price paid, and highly recommend. -

My husband, 2 sons, and I arrived after a grueling 28 hour flight from the East Coast, USa, a typhoon, and 2 weeks in the insanity that is Manila. My wonderful assistant found this gem of a property and my family and I spent the next 6 weeks in bliss...
Amazing meals prepared daily by Jocelyn 2X (traditional BBQ, fried chicken, and fresh crabs were our favorites), Sailing lessons at the yacht club, snorkeling off the dock in the back garden, tours of the island (including a Specatcular day in the rain forest at a hidden waterfall, and one in the real Non-tourist city of Calapan), ensured we had a fabulous time!
Then we got to spend an evening with owner alan Burell and his charming wife Suzie which added the icing to the cake. They are some of the most charming and genuine people you will ever meet (plus our boys absolutely adore their dog Tispy).
In fact when we were in Scotland (Alan's homeland) 8 months later he was kind enough to "virtually" introduce us to people there. There was a lovely continuity that made the entire globe seem so much smaller. We look forward to visiting alan and Suzie, and Jocelyn and her husband Morrie (our trusty boat-man and keeper of all things important on the property) when we return again. The Philippines, and the Boat House at Puerto Galera specifically, will always hold a special place in our hearts.
For any Westerners familiar with the tale of the Big Bad Wolf, our younger son Stefan (who was 5 at the time we stayed here) to this day refers to this as the "Straw House", but he's never afraid of the Big Bad Wolf, because a Dragon lives is the back yard (there is a komodo dragon who lives in a hole in the hill behind the house).
Truly Magic!

We were three couples staying in the "Boathouse" villa, we each had our own bathroom facilities and the rooms were large and private. Sitting on the open deck/living room was sensational, cool and relaxing, overlooking the water.
We bought our own food that the cook prepared and cooked for us and she is a master chef. All the meals were great, and we never left the table hungry. All the staff are friendly, helpful and almost invisible, yet they always seem to be there if you need them. If you find you need something from town, just ask the staff and they will arrange to gt it for you. I can't think of a single negative when it comes to this holiday home away from home. We all enjoyed ourselves immensely. -

Vancouver Island BC CanadaBig and beautiful villas in a laid-back natural setting
Left on 12/30/2011 for a stay in November 2011
I stayed here for two months in the fall, at the end of the rainy season. We spent most of our time in the upper 6-bedroom villa, on the huge deck which has a spectacular view (pictures don't do it justice). The lower 3-bedroom villa is only a little smaller, with a more private view of the secluded bight and the property's private dock. There are few neighbors and no worries about theft.
The staff who live on the property are friendly and easy going, speak English to varying degrees, and cooked us some very masarap Filipino dinners. The owners alan and Suzie are wonderful people, always helpful by phone and email, and if you get to meet them you're in for a treat.
The house comes with several boats including a kayak that we took snorkeling nearly every morning. Athan can take you by boat to buy groceries and have lunch in town (recommended) or touristy White Beach or Sabang (not recommended), or to one of many deserted beaches surrounded by beautiful coral reefs (highly recommended).
The 3G internet was fast and (relatively) reliable, and they have a generator for the occasional typhoon that might come by. As a matter of fact I'm not sure why we left, and after a few days here you'll be thinking the same thing too.

Left on 08/13/2011 for a stay in May 2011
From the start the owner was very helpfull arranging transportation from manila and back to manila. I originally planned to stay for 2 weeks, I enjoyed it so much I stayed for a month. After 4 days I had left all the stress of work and life behind and was unwound to enjoy the holiday, aided by the house maid who was a qulified masuese who charged a small fee for hour massages. The locals were very friendly and the house keeper travelled with you helping with everything arranging transportation to various places on the island. Some places you go to would be unknown to many tourist as they are only known by some of the locals. Everything was taken care of from cooking to cleaning. Sailing in Bay was a relaxing experience and a beutiful way to see the island. I would recomend the place to anyone. There is no air conditioning in the rooms but fans are available and the house is very open. I am from a warm climate so this did not affect my stay. I travelled there at the hottest time of the year as well. Some amazing little restraunts and the food is cheap along with the price of beer so it was perfect. I did have some minor problems with bank transfers etc however the owner was flexible and understanding which was a great help.

the owner alan and his caretakers went out of their way to accommodate all our needs and address all our concerns. the villa itself is beautiful and located in an area beyond scenic. all of the locals are friendly and we didn't have problems anywhere we went. while staying there you can choose to have a lazy afternoon or evening on the terrace with the awesome view of the cove . or a short boat ride to exciting experiences like local shopping , banana boat rides , night life , or scuba diving and other water sports if you like .

SwitzerlandWow, amazing view!
Left on 01/03/2011 for a stay in November 2010
We arrived in Puerto Galera quite early and the pick up was perfectly coordinated. The house we rented was still booked but we were entertained very well by the owner themselves which already gave us the first impression and feeling of staying within family relations. We booked the Boathouse, however, they gave us the choice to stay in the villa with the spectacular view without any price upgrade. There are 2 sailing jachts available for rent but as we never had a sailing experience, Alan and Suzie invited us for a sail. I will say, "marvelous and amazing experience"! Thank you very much once again.
The keeper Joycelyn who did all the housekeeping and cooking for us made our vacation very comfortable. With her husbands help of showing us the best places to go and to do arround the island.
The villas are built semi asian style using local materials with very wide and open terrace. A place to windup at night without going somewhere else. Just be careful with the low ballustrade especially for small children. Arround the villa is very green with lots of trees and coconut. So, insects that lives on these trees are attracted to join you in the house.
You sleep with open glass doors so that when yo wake up,
wow, you'll ask "am I in paradise?" That's what we felt, and it's a real awesome experience.
The villas are equipped with all the necessary electronic
devices like tv, dvd, music player, etc. You would'nt miss anything.
As for the location, whenever you need to go for food shopping or town visit, you need to take the boat of the keepers husband or the speedboat with extra charge. But there is a "dirtroad" that would bring you to the famous place Sabang or La laguna by foot. Its a great exercise.
We definitely had a superb and unforgetable stay at dalaruan villas. We will surely come back for a longer term. -

Chicago ILA Private Getaway Close to Manila
Left on 12/16/2010 for a stay in April 2009
The bigger villa is built on a slope in a private cove and is extremely spacious, with four large bedrooms and two smaller ones, each with en suite toilets and showers. The top floor bedrooms have top- to- bottom glass doors that open onto a large balcony with wonderful views of the cove. The second level is a large covered balcony that serves as a dining and lounging area with views similar to the bedrooms above. The kitchen is good-sized and well stocked with utensils . The villa is designed to create a feeling of openness and even in the height of summer was never uncomfortable. Airconditioning is not necessary because of the open arrangement and excellent ventilation.
A tender shuttles guests from a dock to any of the two 37 foot racer-cruising sailboats that come with the rental, crew included. An outriggered banca is available for a reasonable fee to take one into town for meals or to do marketing for meals prepared at the villa itself (the services of Jocelyn are available for the latter).
The site doesn't have a sandy beach to speak of but the privacy of the area is thus preserved: no hawkers or noisy, messy beachgoers. Besides, the bancas can take one to any of the beaches on the many islands that dot the archipelago, many of them secluded.
Getting there is easy (two by land plus a short ferry ride). Alan can provide reliable contacts to get you directly to the villa from Batangas pier or Manila. Or rent the floatplane from Manila that can land right in the cove.
Puerto Galera Villas is a quick getaway for small groups or large within reasonable distance from Manila but devoid of its hectic pace. There is a smaller villa (it appears the larger one in the photo) at the bottom and both can be rented for even bigger parties. It's like having your own little vacation villa and mini- marina, service staff included--without the bother of having to maintain one all year round. And all that at a reasonable price. -

Mr. Burrel was more than accomidating to our needs. Transportation was never a problem, the drivers were also pleasant and professional. On arrival to the Island we were warmly welcomed by the local Family there that worked hard and saw to it that our stay was as care-free as possible. The food was delicious and the beauty of the place was just what we needed to relax from a year of hard work. I would recommend this villa to any nature lovers and to those looking for a quiet and private hide-away. We hope to return again our next vacation!
