"Playa del Secreto", the Beach of Secrets awaits you! Casa del Sol

is located on the "Riviera Maya" 20 minutes south of the Cancun

airport. Hidden away on one of the most beautiful and remote beaches

on the entire Yucatan. You will relax in the totally private

seclusion this are offers.

Casa del Sol is one of 12 units. The bedroom has a queen-sized

bed and the living room has a queen-sized futon. The open-air deck

has a table and chairs where you can view the ocean as you dine. A

fully equipped kitchen and ceiling fans will make your stay

comfortable. There is a TV and DVD player... for entertainment in the living

room. We provide all bath and beach towels, as well as bed linens. A

large swimming pool graces the grounds where lush green grass,

tropical flowers and palm and banana trees abound.

A spiral staircase will take you up to your private deck/observatory

on the roof where 360 degree views allow you to lie back on your

chaise lounge and view the spectacular sunrises and sunsets across

the magnificent "Beach of Secrets" as the surf pounds and echoes up

to your rooftop retreat.

The small fishing village of Puerto Morelos is a 5 minute drive

north. There you will find a grocery store, dive shops, a pharmacy,

wonderful restaurants, a pizza place, and fishing and snorkeling

excursions. The Mayan Reef at Puerto Morelos is the second largest

barrier reef in the world with some of the best snorkeling to be

found. Or enjoy the quaint town square where the locals sell their

wares and children play in the park.

Our Manager and "amigo" will greet you upon arrival and tend to any

need you may require. Bottled water is provided.

You can walk the powder white sand for miles, gathering lovely

shells, playing in the 85 degree turquoise surf and probably not run

into but a handful of other beachcombers.

  We were mislead by the owner that the condo was within walking distance to Puerto Morales yet it was 14 miles away. I asked her this question specifically on the telephone so she was not truthful. The condo could have been nice but there were four broken, unusable chairs on the patio, no light to read by in the living room, coffee pot and toaster did not work. The front door lock did not work, plus screens only which were broken so mosquitos came in. Plastic plates and plastic "glasses", rusty can openers and cutlery. Very shabby overall. Owner said she had a manager but she does not. She contracts for cleaning only before arrival and at departure. We stayed three weeks but no cleaning. When I e mailed her she said "what do you expect for $90 a night - you had best stay in a Hilton or Sheraton in future if you are so picky". I am not picky - just expect a decent place with decent things and someone to whom our needs could be addressed. I went to the people who arrange cleaning only - and they helped out of the goodness of their hearts. Her reputation is well known in the condos - all the other owners are fed up with helping out her clients who complain to them and have no where to turn. I have photos to back up my claims and will send if requested. Her response to me has been totally defensive, untruthful.and quite dismissive. The other condos are gorgeous, well maintained and have a manager .It is interesting that she has rented for 10 years yet there is not one review, except mine, on her page - I am not at all surprised.
