Salt Lake CityNice Condo, Incredible Owners!
Left on 06/02/2013 for a stay in May 2013
We spent a fast 2 weeks in P.M. We really enjoyed the shopping and food in and around the main town square. There are a surprising number of excellent restaurants and small bars that give you great options for such a small place. The people are friendly and the service is exceptional. Some of favorites: Tanino's Wine Bar, El Chimichurri, A Que Hora Es? (bar), I Wanna Pizza, El Merkadito, Pelicanos, & El Nicho.
The condo is within an easy walk to the town square. You do have to walk past the shipyard/cargo property along a narrow road/ally. There are numerous dogs and shipyard employees along the way; for some this might be a bother (especially at night), for us it was fine. We never encountered any problems; the dogs are easily shooed away and the locals are friendly.
The condo is very well appointed and comfortable. We liked the fact it is ground level and right next to the pool. It is spacious and we liked having two bathrooms (one for each of us!). The air conditioners worked perfectly and there are ceiling fans to help as well. If you like the heat, the screen doors can be kept open so you can sleep to the sounds of the ocean! The kitchen was adequate for all of our cooking needs. We recommend bringing some foil, plastic wrap, and seasonings if you plan to cook. The laundry room was helpful and functional. The dryer took awhile to finish a load of towels though.
We recommend using Carlos (property manager) for his grocery shopping service!
The owners have stocked the condo with a lot of extras that most of the other condos don't have; such as: private wi-fi, a laptop computer, yoga mats, beach chair cushions, books, insect repellents, gas barbecue grill, and hammock.
The owners, Derek and alice, were extremely nice and helpful from the time we inquired about the condo until we checked out and returned home. We had some minor issues during our stay and they handled them promptly and kindly. We can't say enough positive words about them! -

Charlotte, NCBest Honeymoon!!
Left on 05/30/2013 for a stay in May 2013
We split our honeymoon and spent 4 nights at an all inclusive resort and then our last 4 nights at Palma Real... absolutely loved it here! We rented bikes which I highly recommend and was the best decision we made. While the town is within walking distance, it's a good hot walk in the sun. You can get pretty much anywhere in Puerto Morelos on a bike. We rode down to the north beaches almost everyday and rode to dinner and back every night. Carlos was a very nice and extremely helpful to have around. We had him get a few things to have when we arrived which was great! He also gave us a list of local restaurants he recommends. Every meal we ate was great! I think we had seafood every night. The condo is perfect! Has everything you would need and all the comforts of home. The bed here was actually way more comfortable then the bed at our 5 star resort. The pool and grounds are very nice and clean. We will definitely be back, 4 days was just not long enough!!

This is a beautifully appointed condo with lots of open space and the sea just steps away. We were very comfortable; a great retreat. There is staff and security 24/7 keeping the property immaculate and safe. Carlos, the property manager, met us at the airport and gave us a tour of Puerto Morelos and the condo. He was available for any questions by phone-very helpful. We spent a lot of time at the pool, beach, porch, and covered hammock. The pool deck is situated so that you get fabulous sea breezes, day and night. The condo owners provided drinking water and a hairdryer, and there is a clothes washer and dryer. Plus the king-size bed is really comfortable. We were a little disappointed that the shipping dock was fairly close, but quickly got accustomed to it and there was not much activity at the ship yard. The beach is tiny and has lots of shells to step on to get out to the water. The hot tub and sea kayaks are nice to have available. We didn't have a car the first five days and actually liked walking the short distance to town every day (about 15 minutes). The sounds of the surf and the ever-present breeze were fantastic. I would recommend Palma Real to anyone.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Palma Real. The condo was clean, comfortable, and more than adequately stocked with everything needed for a vacation. The pool, common area, and beach were also well maintained, with more than enough room/chairs to never have to worry about having a place to lay in the sun. The entrance to the beach was a bit rocky; however, the benefit of the location is that the beach is very private with almost no foot traffic. The town itself is a about a 10 min walk along a dusty road around the ship yard, but we were expecting this and didn't mind. I would not hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend the unit to anyone wanting a relaxing vacation away from resorts and the big cities.

Vancouver IslandAmazing condo, gracious owners!
Left on 04/27/2013 for a stay in April 2013
Wonderfully equipped condo with all provisions thoughtfully included and then some! All the small extras including books to read, bug spray, laundry soap, speaker dock for iPod, gas BBQ and utensils, beach umbrellas, coolers and snorkel gear. Didn't turn either one of the two Tv's on, but blue-ray player provided as well.
Beautiful furnishings, towels and linens, and super comfy king-sized bed to curl up in after long hours in the sun! And the hammock, oh, the hammock...
Kitchen had everything needed if wanting to prepare meals in, it was our intention, but Puerto Morelos and the Calonia across the hwy has some of the best restaurants we've eaten at in our travels to Mexico! A "foodie" town, it is!
Location of condo is great, not too close to town but not too far if on foot or bicycle. Incredibly safe with the gated complex and 24 hour security, great job Darwin and the young man who works endlessly around the pool and complex throughout the day.
Derek and alice were the easiest and most pleasurable Vrbo's that we've worked with! Prompt communication with emails, gracious with all requests that we had. Straightforward contract, no surprises except all the extra touches they provide. It is evident that considerable thought and care went into planning their rental. A huge thank-you to them! We will be returning! Muchas Gracias! -

The condo and area were clean and convenient for what we wanted to do. The owners and rental manager were easy to communicate with and very timely with responses to any of our questions.
The a/C was much appreciated. It was humid when we were there. We spent our time in the ocean rather than the pool but there were plenty of people in the pool and hot tub. Not too many people, as there are only 15 units in the complex.
The owners let you use their snorkle gear if you don't have any and there is a single person kayak you can use too. You will be happy if you rent this unit. Have fun! -

Beautifully decorated condo..we had everything we needed including snorkeling gear which we used four times, two kayaks to paddle around in, amazing ocean view, crisp linens, soft towels, excellent kitchen supplies, big refrigerator, huge tv, Apple TV, DVD player, CD player, speakers for iPod, magazines, maps, easy and super comfortable murphy bed which our daughter used when she was with us the third week, hammock to fall asleep in, pool at your doorstep, beach and palapas just beyond the pool, washer and dryer, cooling breeze from the ocean...and...best asset...Carlos. Carlos is our new friend and manager of this condo. Had many good visits with him and he provided us with a wealth of information, advise, and assistance. He picked us up at the airport and dropped us off, had the condo stocked with a lot of the groceries (and refreshments) we would need, he gave us a great list of restaurants to check out in Puerto Morelos, he made arrangements for tours, he enrolled me in a cooking class, hooked us up for an excellent snorkeling trip with Charlie Brown, he made a couple of phone calls for us speaking in Spanish on our behalf, he makes sure the condo is spotless when you arrive. We were always telling ourselves we were so lucky to have him.
Derek made every step in booking this condo painless and was so reassuring. He also gave us such good advise for our holiday.
Puerto Morelos was the most charming town you could imagine. There was not one person we had contact with that gave us an ill feeling whatsoever. It is easy to get around. Taxis are inexpensive. Collectivos take you to the Colonial on the other side of the highway. We shopped for produce there a couple times at a store called Chulim...great prices and selection. We took the ado bus for a pittance to playa del Carmen one day and couldn't wait to get back home to Puerto Morelos. We weren't disappointed in any place we went to. We loved this condo and we loved Puerto Morelos. Hope you will too. -

You can't stop time but this comes real close to slowing it down some. Derek and alice have all the bases covered. The whole booking process was painless, Derek is a great guy to deal with. The condo is well equipped, lacks for nothing. Very clean, modern, ice cold a/c (we never needed to use it though). The condo is suitable for 2 for a quiet romantic get away or there's room if you wanted to bring 2 more along. Tv, wifi and laptop for the kids too. The condo complex is private and secure. The ocean breeze never stops. Step off the infinty pool terrace right onto the quiet private beach. 10 min walk to the town proper. We walked back and forth at night and never felt uncomfortable. Lovely people and a charming town. Eat in or out, the kitchen has all the amenities and there's an outdoor gas grill too. The complex is very quiet at night, if your coming to party til the wee hours there's Cancun.
I have to put a good word in for Carlos Russ, Derek's right hand man and the best friend you can have in Mexico. He's worth every penny and will steer you right whatever you need to know. He helped make our stay that much better. You must snorkel with Charlie Brown while your here.
Do lots or do nothing, it's up to you. -

This condo is a gem. This condo is exactly as described..immaculately clean and maintained both inside and the grounds and pool area. The king sized bed is high quality, and the blackout shades help to make the bedroom very comfortable. Walking to town was easy and cabs are always available for a couple bucks if needed. The owner Derek and the site manager Carlos are honest, reliable men to deal with. e.g. Our security deposit was refunded before we arrived home! Perfect spot for if you want a relaxing, quiet vacation in a simply lovely setting!

The condo is a great size with all of the necessary amenities to make your stay a relaxing one. It's well decorated and has a modern feel. Best bits include the enormous bed and the direct access to the pool area via the patio doors.
The only downside to the condo is that you have to walk around the industrial port area to get into town rather than just walk along the beach. This took 10-15 minutes but was 2 minutes in a cab.
A special mention has to be given to Carlos, the agent who looks after you during your stay. He was very knowledgable and gave great restaurant recommendations. He recommendations. He was also very patient when our flight into Cancun arrived several hours late and eventually got in at about 1am local time. Thanks Carlos.
Derek the owner was also very understanding when our original flights were cancelled due to the storm Isaac. He refunded the night that we were delayed which was very generous and I'm not sure how many people would have done that.
All things considered, we had a great stay at Palma Real. -

Wonderful condo! Perfect location! Peaceful and quiet!!! We loved our stay at the Palma Real. We actually looked at a few other places when we were in town on the North side and new we had the gem of the island. Restaurants were great and we even went to the little restaurant next to the condo on the beach called Cocoa beach. The people were so nice and the fish was very fresh! Derek and alice have a extremely well maintained condo with everything you need. The beach was great, and going to bed with the sounds of the waves and waking up to them each morning was a piece of heaven. Carlos was very helpful in steering us in the right direction for restaurants and other activities in and around Puerto Morelos. Thank you so much Derek, Alice and Carlos. We will be back!!!

We had a wonderful time staying at this condo in Palma Real. The owners have added nice creature comforts to make the stay more relaxing (such as an Hdmi and ipod converter to use with the tv.
The condo itself is quite nice and very comfortable. We love the aC, washing machine and full kitchen. Though most days we spent most of our time in the super comfortable hammock and pool.
The walk to town was not bad and certainly safe, though going out to the second road and using the Collectivo for 10 pesos made the experience even better. Puerto Moreles has some great restaurants and the quaintness of the town stole my heart. Carlos was super helpful and available for insight.

We stayed at this condo from May 13th until May 20th. The pool and hotub were beautiful and we used them many times during the week. The condo is about 10 minutes walking distance from the town and we walked it every day, even into the late evening without incident.
The condo is well equipped and very beautiful. The manager Carlos was very helpful and suggested many great places to eat.
The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen had everything needed to cook a meal. We would stay here again and would reccomend it to our family and friends.

A really well equipped condo with a lovely patio, close to the stunning pool so ideal for children.
We really enjoyed Puerto Morelos with its laid back vibe, very reasonable restaurants and friendly people. The location of the condo is very good and extremely peaceful although it is on the edge of the village and my children found the walk to go to eat hard going in the heat of the day. Only negative is the disappointing beach. -

Left on 05/14/2012 for a stay in May 2012
What a great experience in Puerto Morelos. Carlos picked us up at the airport, purchased our groceries for us, gave us great recommendations, and was always able to assist us. The condo was wonderful--nice modern kitchen, pretty decor, nice touches like Ipod speakers, etc. Outside, the pool was fabulous, and since it was offseason, and we had it to ourselves all week! It was nice to sit outside at night and watch the moon, and to eat breakfast outside at our table.
We rented bikes to go to and from town. Although the beach at the condo was OK, we preferred to ride to the public beaches a little north of the square. The bikes enabled us to go to and from town as many times as we wanted without getting too hot. We loved the town and went to several restaurants with tasty food at reasonable prices--they are all over the place! We really liked David Lau's, Merkadito del Mar, and the beach bar called Ojo de agua (good fajitas), and several others. We enjoyed meeting the locals, and met several fun characters (Charlie Brown). Loved Habaneros for drinks (2 for 1 huge margaritas from 1 to 4 daily)--we met several transplanted americans and Canadians with interesting stories. Also enjoyed an evening in Playa del Carmen, and the ado bus was only about $2 each for the ride each way. The single best thing that we ate all week were tacos from a fast food joint in Playa just off the strip called Taco Sirloin. Delicious and cheap!
One word of caution--bring strong mosquito spray. They are bad just after dusk for about an hour, usually right when you are outside dining. All in all, a great trip to a great place, in wonderful accomodations. Thanks Derek, Alice, and Carlos!

We would fortunate to stay @ Derek & Alice's place for 9 terrific days.
The unit had everything that we needed (modern & clean).
The unit is steps away from the pool and just a few more to your own quite beach (that you can go out 50 yards & snorkle).
Palma Real is a 10 minute walk to the town square. We experienced many of the restaruants and felt safe walking to town @ all times (we did walk to and from town @ nite).
Carlos was a great help with any of our needs.
The daily grounds keeper / pool boy works real hard in ensuring the common areas are spotless.
We can't wait to return. -

Spent 8 weeks at Palma Real. Upon arrival we were greeted by Carlos, condo manager, who is very helpful and reliable. The condo was very clean and offered all the amenities that were stated in the agreement. Even though the condo is located at walking distance to the town square, we took taxi. The property (hallway, pool, spa and beach) is very clean and well maintained. The condo is a few steps away from the beach which is very enjoyable and convenient. We enjoyed many good meals at the condo as well as at many of the good restaurants in Puerto Morelos. Every 10 days we rented a car and made our groceries at Costco and Mega in Cancun. We enjoyed so much our stay that we already booked our 2013 vacation with the owners alice and Derek.

The condo we stayed in was beautiful. There wasn't anything we needed, because it was all provided. It was great to have a barbecue there also. Carlos was very good with us. I thought we might see him more but that was okay, we really did not need anything. He did get someone in to look at the vent over the stove. he also fixed two little things very promptly. the one shower head quit and he cleaned it, that was all it needed. the fridge leaked some water and he fixed it too. the only thing that we would suggest is the bacl lane had a big hole in it and it filled totally with water from rain. so we had a hard time getting through it, it was fairly deep, every day to go uptown. when we mentioned it to Carlos he said it was n front of the other person's house and is their responsibility so hope they do something about it. The boys who work their are also very friendly , Juan I think is a bit of a character! We made a mistake and did not take our cell phone so had no way of phoning for a taxi. So Juan ran out into the street the night it rained and tracked one down for us, good guy. Carlos was very informative also with the town, restaurants, or anything you asked him. nice to have him pick us up and take us back to the airport. Loved the private beach we had and most times very few were there so no fighting over chairs!
The meals uptown were great, everywhere we ate. Also the locals were very friendly. Only encountered one not so nice at the local grocery store. she was a younger girl who made a face when I checked my sheet to see if she quoted the right amount of american money for the pesos I owed her. also could not get money out of the aTM machine. It rejected both our mastercards which worked when we went to Playa Del Carmen. So lesson learned to take pesos next time and more than one kind of card. Puerto Morelos is a beautiful place to visit and we will certainly go back there again.

We had excellent contact from the owners, Derek and alice from start to finish.
The condo is superb, everything you could want has been provided, the pool and beach areas are ideal and kept spotless from the staff. Security is excellent.
Puerto Morelos is a lovely sleepy fishing village with lots to do if you choose, its a short 10 minute walk past the commercial dock. We normally walked to town at night and got a taxi back, with a couple of margharitas inside us!
We used Carlos for airport transport and groceries, it made a nice relaxing start to our holiday. He was available day or night for any problems if required.
Puerto Morelos has lots of little restaurants, we tried quite a few of them but our favourites were El Habanero and Terraza.
If you are looking for hectic nightlife this is not the place for you, but, if you are looking for a lovely relaxing laidback atmosphere this is the place to come.
Hopefully we will be back and would definately book the condo at Palma Real again.

My wife and I just got back from another wonderful vacation in Puerto Morelos. After reading a lot of reviews we decided on unit 102 at Palma Real. Location and price with a lot of features helped in our decision.
Palma Real is just south of the square in Puerto Morelos. It is next to the federal pier. This was not that big a distraction since there is very little activity at the pier. Thusly not much noise. Yes, it is visable, but we just thought of it as being like a neighbor with an ugly house, a misshapened tree in the yard, or a Yugo in the driveway. The views straight ahead and to the right were spectacular. The property is beautiful and very well maintained. Gustavo had the beach raked and the pool cleaned early every day. The walk into town took 15 minutes at the most. We found the quickest way was to go the road running by the pier complex. It is bettr lit at night so we walked home that way , also.
We had contacted Carlos about getting food , but he was unable to do so due to a family emergency. A short trip into town to Martins and we had all the provisions needed. We were sorry to have missed Carlos as he is a wealth of local knowledge.
The pool and jaquzzi are fabulous. Sooo relaxing after shopping, sightseeing, and walking back home.
Derek and alice Goudie own the unit we stayed in. They were so easy to rent from; very prompt in answering emails about our questions. Their condo is just as nice as the pictures depict Plenty of utensils, cups, glasses, and plates. The only drawback was just one ice tray. There was dish detergent and hand soap provided. A very comfy king size bed, leather couch
Taxis to town took 2-3 minutes and cost 25 pesos. A trip to the colonia side was 50 pesos.Buses and collectvos were 5 pesos.
So, would we do this again? Yes, definitly. We love Puerto Morelos and her people. This time we got even more of a feel for the town and stayed in a superb place while enjoying this little slice of heaven on earth. -

We've stayed at Palma Real in july 2001, for 11 days.
The condo is very nice, beds are confortable and air conditioning is really cool and efficient. There's everything in the condo that a person might need, from microwave to washer and dryer. Not much to add, you can see from the pictures how nice the condo and the complex is. Location of the condo is perfect. No big resorts nearby and a very quiet spot. The beach and water right in front of the condo are nice, although not the best in Puerto Morelos.
We've been to Playa del Carmen for a day or two. The beach there is larger, and the water is better. However, it is full of tourists, and everywhere you turn you can smell the gasoline from the seadoos and boats. Prices are amazingly different too. A 750ml bottle of water in Puerto Morelos is .75$ and in Playa del Carmen the same bottle can be had for 2.5$. And it goes the same way for restaurants. Plus, restaurants in Puerto Morelos are a lot nicer and better. So we prefer Puerto Morelos, by far.
The town itself is really nice. Lots of good restaurants, cheap and authentic compared to Playa del Carmen or Cancun. People are really nice, and the town is really safe. We've been walking to the condo from the town past 10pm in numerous occasions and we've always felt safe walking anywhere in town.
From the airport it's a 20 mins drive. We took the ado bus, great value at 6$ (comfy and air conditioned), and from the bus stop, it is a 4$ 5min taxi ride to the condo.
Puerto Morelos is the perfect location for people who need a quiet vacation in a small Mexican town with good restaurants and nice people. Do not go there if you're into clubs and nightlife.
Many thanks to Derek and alice, who provided us with a very nice clean and neat condo, and who was there for us whenever we had a question.
We will definitely go back! -

Carlos, the condo agent, also was very helpful with our car rental and excursion. The condo was very clean and looked just like the pictures. We loved the pool and beach front right out our door. We could hear the ocean from out condo. The beach was beautiful and perfect for relaxing, swimming, and walking. We loved Puerto Morelos. It is a small fishing town with wonderful people. Our boys played soccer with the local kids. We always felt safe. We loved Cantina Habanero's (good food and margaritas). Puerto Morelos is located in a great location to drive to the Mayan Ruins and other tourist sites. This vacation was all we had dreamed about. I would definitely go back!

What a wonderful place to vacation! It had been over 2 years since I had had a "real” vacation and this was the perfect place to unwind, relax and to remember how tranquil the view of the sea, the fresh ocean air and amazing accommodations could do to the mind, body & soul. Palma Real is lush with its gorgeous modernity, yet comfortable in its surroundings. There were a few days that we didn't even leave the property and didn't feel an inkling of guilt! I highly recommend the Goudies' unit - it is right by the incredible infinity pool and you can see and are steps away from the beach from the unit. Carlos, the caretaker, was a huge help with everything from getting us groceries before our arrival to suggesting where to go in Puerto Morelos for lunch/dinner to taking us to the airport... A true gem! My only complaint is that our vacation was not long enough! Thank you Derek, Alice & Carlos - we will be back!

I'm not sure where to start. We were picked up at the airport by Carlos and in a flash we were in the condo getting the grand tour. First of all, the place is immaculate. All of the amemities are clean and new, with wifi included. Carlos assured us the town of Puerto Morelos was safe and directed us to his recommended restaurants, which were right on target. We went during the low season, so we basically had the infinity pool and beach to ourselves. The most memorable part of our trip was the people we met. They are so kind and open... just a nice little fishing town where you can snorkel, shop and feel like you're a part of the town. Throughout the week, we would spend half the time at the condo and half the time in town. The first night of our stay, we slept 14 hours! (I'm sure we were tired from our wedding weekend, but the bed was so comfortable.) We definitely recommend Derek and alice's condo. Only if you're respectable people, though. :)
We felt completely safe there, with the security and privacy and instantly felt at home. All of the appliances are new and the whole place is comfortable. We'll definitely be going back next year!

If you like to lie on the bed and see and hear the ocean this place is for you. The condo was perfect in every way. It has class and the setting is like having your own private home with a beautiful pool.
This little town has it all The ocean beauty, shopping and good food and early night life.

My husband and I spent two weeks at the Palma Real Mar/Apr 2011. The condo was extremely well-appointed and well-maintained. We did not want for anything during our stay. The local building manager, Carlos, was helpful in everyway. He provided ground transporation, tour of town, snorkeling options, and stocked the condo for us. Puerto Morelos is a lovely town that is safe and an easy walk from the condo. The pool and ocean view while in the pool are second to none. No rushing for a spot in the morning. Lots of room for everyone. For such a small little town, the dining options are endless. Food choices at the market are somehwhat limited, so you may wish to make a trip to a larger grocery store in Cancun or Playa del Carmen. We enjoyed many meals at the condo and many restaurants in town. The murphy bed in the condo is extremely comfortable, we had a friend join us for our second week.

I consider myself an avid traveler. I'm one of those types that before my vacation is finished I already have another booked. Puerto Morelos, Mexico is a very special place to me. This serene Bohemian sleepy fishing is just what the doctor ordered when you can't take another flake of snow or temperature under freezing. My most recent stay at Palma Real was enjoyable. The condo building is a 10 minute walk from the center of PM village. Palma Real is set in a serene quiet area with a lovely beach that is located just steps from your room. Should you decide to take a swim in the ocean be careful as there are small rocks in the ocean in front of the condo area. You should enter the ocean about 500 feet down from the left to avoid stepping on any rocks, or you can wear water shoes and you will be fine. The condo amenities are on almost on line with luxury level, granite counter tops, glass showers,
& floor to ceiling windows. The condo I stayed in was on the 1st floor, which was very convenient for me. I could run inside very quickly and easily for a beverage or a snack. The infinity pool and jacuzzi are a wonderful addition to this already beautiful setting.

Hi Kim,
Thank you for sharing your travel experience in Puerto Morelos and the helpful comments about our vacation rental.
Regarding the comment about swimming, I had a similar experience entering the water from the beach directly in front of the property. It seems about 4-5 feet into the water there are pieces of shells and small rocks, etc. that are exposed by the surf--which can be hard on your feet. I was put off by this and tried going along the shore in both directions looking for a smooth place to enter.
Later, I saw some people going in and they got to the same spot and sort of jumped forward and kept going. They weren't having any trouble after that. So I tried the same thing and discovered the "rocky" section is only 2-3 feet wide and then it turns back into smooth sand. Then the sandy bottom continues as far as you want to go out into the bay.
My experience of this was in August 2010. I guess it's common for beaches to change from year to year with storms and so on. It might have changed since we were there, so I'm hoping this tip is still valid and helps our guests enjoy their beach.
Best regards,
Derek -

A week goes by very quickly in such a wonderful place.
We arrived on a Saturday from the snowy interior or British Columbia to be greeted by Carlos at the Cancun airport.
Carlos is the on-site manager of the condo and his advice provided us with a good foundation for all our adventures in and around Puerto Morelos.
The condo is clean and well equipped with all the things that you will need for your stay. The laptop and wireless internet were a great bonus.
Puerto Morelos is a great place to be if you are looking for relaxation away from the large resort vacation. You can relax by the pool and on your own private beach or walk to town (10 minutes) and check out the beach and great restaurants there. Public transit or cab are easy ways to get around. There are tours that can be arranged by Carlos which takes all the guessing out of which tours are good or not. We really enjoyed our tour trip to Chichen Itza. Even though it was a long day it was well worth it - excellent tour through Cancun Sightseeing. The snorkelling in Puerto Morelos is world class and only a short boat ride. Also got on public transit (20 Pesos from Puerto Morelos to Playa del Carmen) and headed to Playa del Carmen for part of the day - very busy with many vendors trying to sell. Spent the day on the beach before heading back to the quieter and more relaxing atmosphere at the condo and life in Puerto Morelos.
Thank you for the well kept, clean beautiful condo.
Our holidays were everything we could hope for and this condo was exactly what we were looking for.
I recommend this condo and location to someone who is looking for a different experience than an all inclusive resort.

We had a wonderful holiday in puerto moreles. Our condo was awesome and fully stocked. We had beachfront view from our deck. The beach was easy access and very private. The little town had the best restaurants and food. Only a 10 minute walk from the condo. The only suggestion we have is that any maintenance being done on the condo complex be done at low rental season as this did take away from the peacefulness of this beautiful tropical setting.

We couldn't of asked for a more relaxing and laid back holiday. Carlos (the caretaker) picked us up at the airport and drove us to the town of Puerto Morelos, he showed us where to buy groceries, trade in money and where the best places to eat are.
We shortly arrived at our condo, which was truely impressive. The premises were immaculate, seems like there was always someone cleaning even though there was hardly anyone staying at the complex.
Our place was spacious, clean and had everything you needed for cooking. We didn't even have to bring towels as the condo supplied them.
The condo is located right on the beach, I found alot of shells. Seemed like we were the only ones on the beach the whole time we were there.
My husband and I would walk into town nightly which only took about 8-10 minutes. We ate really good food, two of our favorite spots are Spagatinos and Taco ave.
Overall we would rate this place a 10 out of 10 and will be back hopefully next year. -

if you ar looking for peace, quiet rest & relaxation with the beach on your front steps this is whre you need to come. A mere 10 minute walk to the small town of Puerto Morelos which has much character and lots of good cuisine to enjoy, a taste for everyone. The white sandy beach is unbelievable and you can walk for miles, swim or snorkle. The pool and hottub are right off the patio of the condo, can`t ask for much more than that. The condo was immaculate and is very well maintained. There is nothing lacking when it comes to the kitchen needs, electronics, etc. I received excellent service by the care taker, he was very attentive and is very well versed with when it comes to the restaurants, tours, etc. My experience was fabulous and I can`t say enough about it. There was no down side.

Left on 11/21/2010 for a stay in November 2010
My husband and I spent a delightful week here for my birthday in November. The condo is well-appointed and clean. I would say it felt like a home from home – except our own home does not overlook the glistening Caribbean Sea, nor is it quite so clean and tidy.
Everything was in good condition and seemed brand new. There were some nice little touches too, like the snorkelling gear and the insect repellent – both coming in extremely handy. I won’t say too much about Puerto Morelos itself, suffice to say it is our second time in PM, and I’m sure it won’t be our last. Thanks alice and Derek for allowing us to sample the delights of your home. -

MOCleanest condo ever
Left on 10/19/2010 for a stay in October 2010
I was very happy staying here even though hurricane Paula scooted by us with no ill affects. The condo is spotless, the appliances are new, the bed is a real bed and not a concrete platform like most places we have rented, and it was on the ground floor, which I like. The beautiful infinity pool and hot tub are located just steps from the condo, and the courtyard is very spacious and well maintained. The beach is just another fews steps past the pool. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The only cons I have is the location near the industrial ferry..not too loud, just ugly . I also had a very hard time trying to use the microwave as it is located on a rack over the counter at about 6 feet. A cart to put it on would be a much needed improvement. Also, a nice booklet explaining all the do's and don'ts and "how to use" would be much appreciated. I would not hesitate to recommend this lovely condo to my friends and family...

Thank you for posting your review, we really appreciate the feedback. We're glad you enjoyed your stay at our condo.
Thank you for letting us know about the microwave. It has been relocated to the kitchen counter. We are also working on a renters guide for guests when they stay.
I agree with you being located near the port is not noisy at all. While the view walking past the port from the road is not ideal, the oceanview and beach experience is not affected by the port. In fact, some have said they enjoy the privacy of our beach because the federal pier blocks access to it. Essentially, we are the only ones on it.
Thank you again for taking the time to share your vacation feedback.

Dallas, TX.
This is our 3rd visit to Palma Real.
We love Puerto Morelos.
Such a peaceful town with the beautiful ocean.
Very easy to get around without renting a car.
There are minivans that you can take to the ado (Bus) for 5 pesos.
Then you can take the bus to cancun or Playa del Carmen for about 20 pesos.
There are convience stores in Puerto Morelos where you can get just the basics.
Stop and buy a 3 gallons jug of water before arriving to the condo just in case.
You can buy 5 gallons of water from Jose Luis (caretaker) the next day for about 40 pesos.
Its a good idea to have Carlos shop for you before you arrive or you can take the ado to Cancun to grocery shop then take a taxi back for $25 dollars us.
The condo and the grounds are ery well maintained
We always leave the condo in excellent condition and we promptly receive back our full deposit.
Carlos is always available to help with anything.
He always answers his calls and can recommend tours, restaurants, car rentals, Etc. Thank you for renting your wonderful condo. I hope to come back next year.
