Condo 201, Palma Real, Puerto Morleos
We just returned from a wonderful one week stay at Palma Real. Thank you so much David for opening your beautiful home to us. The pictures of the condo are terrific, but it was so much better than we even expected. The views are absolutely amazing. What I think I liked best about the condo is how much room there is and how comfortable it is. No one wants rain on vacation, but my husband and I were talking about how cozy it would be on a rainy day with the loveseat in the bedroom overlooking the sea. We have stayed in places before where the interior space is just not as nice and being stuck inside would not be pleasant.
We have been to PM a number of times and have always stayed on the other side of town so we were hesitant to be on the other side of the pier. Not anymore. It was so nice and quiet and it did not feel far from town at all. We mostly took a cab (which show up within 2 minutes!) when we were with our small boys since one is only 5, but any slightly older child would have no trouble walking. Cabs are only 30 pesos, so it was very inexpensive if we felt like being lazy or the kids were tired. It only takes an adult 10 minutes to walk to town. For anyone that is wondering, you never feel unsafe at anytime.
Carlos, the manager of the condo, was so very helpful. Our plane was late arriving so we were tired and crabby. Carlos had bought the items we requested to have in the condo upon arrival, but I had forgotten to ask him to get butter. We needed to make our kids a late dinner, so he quickly ran into town and brought us a stick of butter.
Carlos also arranged the most wonderful snorkel trip for us with a fantastic guide who made sure my son was the first to see a sting ray, turtle, moray eel and more! He also lent us a fishing pole to putz around with.
Thanks again David. I am counting the days until we return!!

Toronto, OntarioAbsolutely beautiful!

My husband and I spent 2 beautiful weeks at David's beachfront condo in Palma Real. It was exactly what we were looking for! Gorgeous views, clean, and luxurious amenities...perfectly complemented with sun, relaxation, good diving and good food!
We spent most of our days waking up to the sunrise and ocean out the floor to ceiling windows, lounging in the hammock on the balcony enjoying the warm breezes and listening to the ocean waves. We spent many evenings making wonderful meals in the well equipped kitchen and sipping Margaritas on the well lit patio. Everything in the condo was clean and very well maintained. We loved that there was a 20L jug of water waiting for us on arrival! We also loved that the internet remained reliable throughout the stay (we both had to stay connected with work back home.) We also knew with certainty that if anything was ever needed, Carlos would take care of it immediately.
The town was a short 10 min walk from the condo. Be prepared - you can't walk there via the beach front and must walk around an industrial looking shipping yard, but nevertheless it didn't take away from the beauty of the condo complex and the town. We loved the town - every bit of real Mexico as we hoped and not a perfectly groomed resort town. The restaurants were fantastic - Tacos.com for great fish tacos; Al Chimichurri amazing steak and empanadas; Mercadito's for chips and Margaritas and Tanino's for good ambiance and wine. And not to be forgotten El Nicho's for breakfast.
We'd absolutely visit Puerto Morelos again and would not hesitate to stay at Palma Real! Thanks David and Carlos! -

OsloGreat stay

We spent one week and everything was perfect. This is a very well-equipped condo, maybe the best we have ever stayed at. Many small details are in place, e.g. salt and papper, water and toilet paper! You must be prepared for a 15 walk from the condo to the city centre, for us that was no big deal.
Carlos Russ contributed to make our holiday complete and absolutely without flaws or hiccups. His recommendations for activities like restaurants, snorkling, fishing, cooking course and tours, were always spot on. We could easily have filled up two weeks with only his suggestions but we had to have time for the beach, the pool, the deck and our neighbors here!
Puerto Morelos is small and quiet, but with a very nice and friendly atmosphere. We first spent a week at Isla Mujeres, which also was great, but enjoyed this place even more.
It is a long trip from Norway, but we definitelt hope to be back! -

We spent a week at the condo with our 2 grown children, son in law, and grand daughter. We loved the area in and around Puerto Morelos, especially the interesting variety of restaurants in town and the snorkeling on the reef. The condo was very comfortable and met or exceeded our expectations. When we weren't enjoying the tourist attractions in the area, we relaxed at the pool and in the hot tub, enjoying the quiet atmosphere there. Carlos was very helpful and courteous, helping us with all of our needs from recommending local tours to giving us a list of top places to eat. I would stay at this condo again without any hesitation- our favorite activity being the snorkeling in the area and the only disappointment being that we couldn't walk to town on the beach.

Owner
Thank you for your very kind comments about our condo. Regarding not being able to walk into town along the beach - we too felt in the beginning that this was a bit of a disadvantage. However, after thinking about it, we realized that not being able to walk directly into town along the beach means that people, vendors, etc., are also not able to walk from town past our condo at any hour of the day or night. This affords us (and our guests) a degree of privacy and security that we would not have if one were able to walk directly into town and back along the beach. Again, thank you for your positive comments; we are very pleased that you enjoyed yourselves, and we hope to hear from you again in the future, if and when you may decide to return to our "paradise" of Puerto Morelos.

Great spot! Beautiful Condo!! We loved it.
Very quiet, peaceful, and beautiful. For alittle for excitement it was an easy walk into town.
We loved the small town atmosphere. Every restaurant we tried was great. We couldn't believe that how wonderful the food was and was presented. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.
Since the the Condo is very quiet, you might want to go where there is excitement. Just go into town where the public beach is- bring a lunch or have lunch and message on the beach! Or take a nice 45 min nice bus ride for $5 to Playa del Carmen. Also, the ferry to Cozumel for $15 one-way was easy to do. It's definately fun doing and the shopping and sites were great! Expect to spend the whole day there.
We had a wonderful vacation and had the best of both worlds! Relaxation and homey- and resturants and shopping! Loved not being in a hotel. Being able to cook and have drinks on the our balcony was great(the picture that is shown is spot on). Then going out to eat and try different places was fun. (Not feeling like we were cattle at an all enclusive resort was wonderful).
Carlos was a great help with everything. What a nice man! He picked us up and dropped us off at the airport. He had everything ready for us when we got there and was
was willing to help us with whatever we needed. He was huge help.
Loved Puerto Morales and enjoyed the Condo!
Thanks,

My husband and I spent 9 days at the beachfront condo in Palma Real. We had a wonderful vacation! The master bedroom with the floor to ceiling view of the water was amazing. We left the patio doors opened and enjoyed the breeze and the sounds of the waves every night. We never turned on the air conditioning - just didn't want to close out the soft Mexican air. The house and the grounds were meticulously maintained. We loved the town and the people there as well. Our favorite restaurants were Merkadito Del Mar, I Wanna Pizza and al Chimmichuri. Amazing food (and we're a couple of "foodies"). Don't hesitate to give this condo and Puerto Morelos a try!

This place is amazing!
The condo was spotless, large, clean and very well equipped.
To wake up every morning to this view is priceless.
We have tried many of the local restaurants for lunch and dinner and we had only one bad experience, and that was at El Pirata. One of the best meals was at La Petita - the lobster was excellent - and the surroundings wonderful authentic.
We have been snorkeling twice with Charlie Brown - a nice character in town. The girls loved it and so did we.
Also we had a day trip to Chichen Itza - very nice as well.
The rest of the days were spent here on the beach and by the pool and we just loved it.
We were almost hit by the Hurricane Paula. A lot of preparations were made, but we only had heavy rain for some hours. We had a few minor incidents in the apartment, but Carlos fixed everything very fast.
Thank You David for letting us rent this beautiful condo.
And Thank You Carlos for all your help and useful information provided.
Puerto Morelos off season is very quiet, but we enjoyed every moment.
We had the beach to ourselves, the restaurants and shops as well.
Absolutely fantastic!! -

Thank you for lending us this little piece of paradise! We loved it so much that I can not wait to come back. You have such a beautiful place that I could not stop Skype-ing with friends and family, showing them your place.
This was our first time to rent a condo in Mexico and I must say that I am so happy we did. We thank you for your hospitality, and we can not say enough about Carlos and Eric. They were absolutely lovely and we could not have felt any better knowing that they were here to help!
Carlos´recommendations on restaurants are spot on! We enjoyed every meal.
We loved eating at...
Chimichurri, Uruguayan, El Gaucho, and a great place called La Choza del Chaman, they have the best chilaquiles, and the owner, Sr. Pablo, was lovely. You cannot go wrong with the restaurants here. They are very affordable and yummy.
Snorkeling in Puerto Morelos was awesome. We went back several times to the public beach there.
There are beautiful fish and coral reefs. In fact, just outside this condo are some fascinating reefs. We found a bunch of starfish.
Once again, thank you so much for sharing your condo with us.
We will be back - maybe soon!

This is a wonderfully appointed condo in a fab location! It is just perfect for 2 couples since there are 2 king beds and 2.5 bathrooms. The beds are very comfortable! The location couldnt be better if you want to be right on the water. It is like having your own private beach. The grounds are beautifully maintained including a gorgeous infinity pool. The condo is outfitted with all the tools you need to have a relaxing time, including a hammock! The condo was very clean with air conditioning and ceiling fans. We noticed that the owner really listened to the suggestions made by previous renters and complied with things such as adding a safe and allowing a second set of keys. If you do like to cook the whole time, bring along your own supply of spices, herbs and salt and pepper. We really enjoyed the quiet of the condo, all adults when we were there although I am sure that is not always the case. You have to walk to town to get groceries and you are not able to walk along the beach which would have been nice. The stores are pretty limited too, however it is easy to get all your breakfast and lunch needs and enjoy some fun restaurants for dinner. We found the condo book with everyone's suggestions very helpful. There are also quite a few reviews in Trip advisor. We felt very safe walking at night, the condo is beside the federal pier. The locals are very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a snorkling trip with local, Charlie Brown and inexpensive massages right on the beach. It is easy to rent a car in town if you require one for a single day or the entire time. You do get ripped off leaving the Cancun airport- about $70.00 for a 20 min cab drive- but to get back to the airport, 300 pesos! Use pesos wherever you can and you will save yourself some money! This would be a fab place for a girls getaway! There is an elevator in the building so the condo and pool area would be assessible however the town is not at all assessible. The roads are not paved in many areas and it would be very hard to get around.

We looked forward to our trip here for 9 months. The views and premises did not disappoint us.
We enjoyed meeting other guests in the small complex. Snorkeling with Charlie Brown was great fun.
We had never snorkeled before and had no problems. The reef is beautiful.
The restaurants we enjoyed in town were: Los Gauchos, John Grays and Oasis.
We were able to watch parts of the March Madness Basketball on Espn. We are Kansas Jayhawks fans.
Carlos was a big help. It was convenient having him pick us up at the airport. He also bought
groceries. This was great because the market in town is limited. It was wonderful to have someone
who was available at any time.
We did not rent a car and did not feel that we needed one. We were able to walk to town. I would
recommend bringing cash to exchange or having access to your aTM card. Most of the restaurants we
tried did not accept credit.
This is a nice, quiet place to relax and look at the beautiful ocean. -

Kansas CityPerfect!
Left on 09/12/2011 for a stay in March 2011
March 12th to march 18th, 2011, Kansas city Missouri, USa. A year ago we came to Puerto Morelos to snorkel for a couple of days while vacationing in the Playa Del Carmen area. We fell in love with the Puerto Morelos village, so this year we looked for something close, less "Resort-like", so we could enjoy some R&R.; Palma Real fit our desires perfectly! We traveled with our two boys (ages 7 and 8) and family friends (with children ages 3, 5 and 7) who stayed in the condo below us [on the first floor]. We enjoyed the convenience of being next to the pool and beach with the small children. Though our boys are great swimmers, they need supervision. We loved being able to quickly check on them at the pool or during sand building projects while we ran up to the room (we could check on them from any room). This leads us to the views! We know the value of beautiful views and close proximity to the beach - it is amazing! We are well aware that this would cost us at any resort - we just felt blessed to get to experience it! The condo was beautiful, very clean and well maintained. We did fret a little about all the white upholstery - but limited our boys to eating at the bar and covered the stools with towels. We used the condo Host and - well it is hard to even cover all he has done for us: Before we arrived, he emailed us twice, called 3 times; we felt in good hands even before we arrived. He provided round trip transportation & provisioning prior to arrival (he was perfect - he did not purchase "Nacho Doritos" for us because they are hot/spicy in Mexico - when we told him that it was exactly why our 8 yr old loves them, he showed up with a bag the next day and refused to take payment). All went smoothly, but we saw the Host nearly everyday, checking in to see what we needed. The day we & our family friends (9 in total), were preparing to go to the Crococun Zoo, the Host waited patiently and gave us a free ride to Crococun on his way into Cancun. Part of the reason we chose this condo over renting a home for our two families was the Condo Host was part of the package. He met and exceeded our expectations! We appreciate all he has done for us! The other reason we chose Palma Real was the lovely unit with amazing views and the ease of rental & pre-rental information. Thank you! Thank you! We hope to return soon!
