on top of the highest hill in costambar great breezes and great ocean and mountain views await you at our 12 unit , almost new condo complex. Costambar is a village that touches Puerto Plata, but is a walled and gated community with a seaonal population of 2500 people. there is a great grocery store walking distance from Seahorse, a pharmacy, a hardware store, 10 reastaurants and 15 bars all within 1 mile . Ocean World is a 10 minute drive, Los Mangos Golf is 3 blocks away ! Puerto Plata has the only cable car that goes up to the tom of Mt. Isabel Tores just a 10 minute drive away. We have plenty of parking , Puerto Plata has an ambar museum , a great malecon , and great beaches in Costambar but also near by in Cofresi, Puerto Plata and Maimon. Santiago a city of 1 million is a 40 minute drive away , mountains and jungles are just a 10 minute drive. Horseback riding, Jungle tours, 27 waterfalls , and many other tourist attractions are nearby . and especially warm weather year round ! It never gets colder than 64 degrees. normally high of 80 all winter long and a high of 90 in the summer months , great for year round visits. !

  The Best Place To Stay In Costambar

  First, let me say that I am not your typical tourist, who wants to stay in a large, all-inclusive resort, and be pampered, 24/7. I have friends in Costambar, and was looking for a reasonably-priced. longer-term, apartment-hotel, near to them and to the beach. They recommended Seahorse Condos, and I'm very glad that they did.
  
  The owner, Jack Cameron, is a true gentleman. Probably the nicest guy you'll ever meet. Extremely helpful and informative, he picked me up from the airport, then put me in a huge, three-bedroom apartment on the first floor, facing the street. It wasn't exactly what I needed or wanted, but it was all he had available at the time. Because of this, he gave me a very reasonable price on the accommodations, which, by the way, were very new, spotless, and had all the typical, modern amenities; e.g., satellite TV, hi-fi, Internet access.
  
  The hotel is a little far from the beach, but still within walking distance, as is the grocery, restaurants, shops, and the golf course. If you don't like to walk, then there is a golf cart available for your use.
  
  If you're a star-gazer or a romantic, as I am, then the views from the balcony will be a joy to behold. Seahorse is located on the highest point in Costambar; and the night skies there are very dark. By day, the ocean and Mount Isabel are lovely, too.
  
  So, to summarize: Jack's place fit my needs very nicely. If you're not looking for a beach-front, all-inclusive resort, then I think it will do so for you, too. Highly recommended.

  Seahorse always makes me comfortable and safe
  I've stayed in 3 different condos at seahorse and they
  all were excellent ! Trustworthy staff, great pool, ocean view, walk
  to the beach, it's all rite there. I will not stay anywhere else.
  Corner market , restaurants , golf, jungle trips all
  available . Seahorse also can rent u a car or truck if u like.

  This was my 1st visit to the Dominican Republic and was not sure what to expect, but was very pleased with the owner and staff at Seahorse Condo's. The views are spectacular just up the hill from the ocean with a great view and with mountains directly behind. This is in a gated community with security yet the owner has his own 24 hr. security which gives great piece of mind. There are king size beds in the condo's, satellite TV, internet, and the owner has his own back-up generator to guarantee electricity 24 hours a day. The staff is super friendly and willing to help with anything. There is a beautiful full sized pool right there that is cleaned each morning, yet the ocean and beaches are within easy walking distance. Best of both worlds! There is a golf course only a few blocks away which was great for me, with a couple of others within easy driving distance. There is also a grocery store and a pharmacy only a couple blocks away from the condo's. Very nice! There are restaurants within the gated community of Costambar, plus many others within only a few miles outside of the community. I felt very safe and secure during my stay there which made relaxing and enjoying the view that much more enjoyable. I met people staying there from the U.S., Canada, England, and Switzerland and enjoyed laying by the pool and exchanging stories. All in all, a very pleasurable 2 week stay in a very clean, well run establishment.
  My only complaint is I had to leave at the end of 2 weeks to go home.

  Great place to stay. In a gated community a few minutes from downtown Puerto Plata with its own beach, golf course and shops. Has a large pool and views of the ocean and mountains for a tranquil visit. Have stayed many times. Can rely on Jack, the owner, to make your visit a worry free one. The condo complex also has its own security and backup power 24 hours a day. Important for me are the quality kingsize beds and the great restaurants close by. The staff is always eager to be of assistance. You can see for miles in all directions from the gazebo like lookout on the condo roof too. A great spot to take your camera and watch the boats go by.

  Here are a few of my favorite features of Sea Horse Condominiums. Close to the grocery , great scenic views, great breezes from the ocean, ocean and mountain views. operating and functioning well water, and electric and back up electric, and wi-fi and Internet, great satellite t.v. , clean, almost new accommodations, new king size beds, white and bright condos, great security walls, and very well lit at night. great swimming pool, 24 hour staff, friendly owner, close to golf, restaurants, bars, night life, close to the beach , close to town, and the airport, and most of all, quiet and tranquil. I rent a car and drive to and from all the great locations in puerto plata in minutes from the secure parking at Sea Horse condominiums.
