Butte, MTBeautiful condo in lively Mexico neighborhood
Left on 04/01/2013 for a stay in March 2013
We had the pleasure of staying at Casa algre for 4 nights while in Mexico. The condo is located in the Emiliano Zapata neighborhood in P.V. The neighborhood is lively and at times loud. The locals were always very friendly and our group was thankful to stay in an authentic neighborhood and far away from the resort offerings of P.V. The condo was a short walk to Zona Romantica and Playa de los Muertos where we spent 95% of our time. The hills leading up to the condo and the stairs up to the third floor might make the stay difficult for less active travlers. The maid was friendly and did an excellent job. Maria the chef prepared bruch for a group of 10 of us and it was delicious. Ricardo the property manager gave us rides from the airport, to our new condo, and bought groceries for our arrival and was more than helpful. He was very easy to reach by email and any requenst was taken care of very promptly. All of Jeffery's restaurant recommendations were spot on. Coco's kitchen and La Palapa were great for breakfast. Archie's Wok was delicious. The condo had a very open feel with open windows, doors, and walkways but the gates leading up to each floor ensured of us safety. (For the record I never felt unsafe while in the neighborhood or Mexico in general.) The balcony was my favorite part. It seemed to have direct sun as long as it was day time. The pool was great to use in between bites of food outside or simply to cool down after the long hike up the hill. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone interested in seeing the "real" P.V. We had a great time. We were fortunate enough to stay in the Casa Romantique which I will review as well. Just as nice but with a much different feel in a very different part of town. I can't wait to return to P.V.

MontréalAlmost perfect!!!
Left on 03/25/2013 for a stay in January 2013
We really like our week to this condo, almost everything was perfect. I found the price little expensive compare to other villa or condo we rent around the world but i need to admit that the interior was so well decorated and furnished we know and this show that everything was thing and place by an interior decorator it was perfect. The condo was more than an all inclusive, everything was available (kitchen furniture, some extra like Ziploc or scott towel, more towel, beach towels are included, extra pillow and bed linnen) and the pool was perfect and heated!!! We miss an elevator after a day walking around Puerto Vallarta but that it. The chef service was so good and perfect, the place was little small for a 6 person supper but it was great anyways. We have a 5 years old son and he loves the pool and all the space in the condo. It was clean and all the people that worked around to keep the place clean was really discreet. We loves and recommended.

After a brief delay getting the keys, everything at Casa alegre went as planned. The hill to the apartment and several flights of stairs are a steep, so I would say that for older folks or those with mobility problems this could be a challenge. But that aside, the place is elegant and beautifully appointed. I am a bit on the frugal side, so for me this was a bit pricey, but once I arrived I never thought about that; it was worth every centavo! Spotlessly clean, delightful seamless apartment upkeep whilst we were there. I recommend this and Mr. Hill's properties without reservation.
Btw, his restaurant recommendations were also spot on. -

South Orange, NJCloister or Launch Pad
Left on 09/13/2012 for a stay in March 2012
Everyone involved with setting us up in Casa alegre and Celeste was attentive and helpful. Casa alegre is a well appointed, well thought out, oasis in the older section of PV. We made several of our own meals and had virtually everything we needed. Alegre works as a romantic cloister or as a launch pad for local activities. The immediate neighborhood doesn't match the luxury of alegre (loud roosters) but it is friendly and walking is rewarded by discovery.

Blueys Beach AustraliaFantastic location, fantastic view.
Left on 09/02/2012 for a stay in July 2012
We are in our 60's and very particular, we are very active and young at heart. We were absolutely thrilled, the home was top quality in every way, very modern with top of the range amenities, from cooking utensils to showers, washer, dryer, beds, to the very friendly and excellent maid service.
The location for us was great, just out of the main hub, a little hard on the knees as it is at the top of the hill, but well worth the walk up, taxis are so cheap it really didn't worry us that much. The view is magic you feel as if you are on top of the world. We loved the little dipping pool where you could watch the fireworks in the main town at night and the local shops really have everything you need. We didn't go to the beach that much but many; beautiful trips easy by bus travel. Great holiday, we will certainly go back, we were there for 4weeks, in the height of the hottest time so next time we will get a cooler month.Great stay, highly recommended! -

Burlington, ONBeautifully decorated and well appointed condo.

Great service from the on-site staff. Wonderful view from the patio over the downtown area and the Banderas Bay. Be prepared for the hill (hence the great view) and the stairs.
Fully appointed with high end appliances and accessories. Creatively decorated - loved the sculptures. Great location in local neighbourhood with easy access to Romantic zone restaurants and beach. Nearby is a market and restaurants such as Vista Grill and El Palomar de los Gonzales. -

Mercer Island, WAWow, wow, wow--Casa alegre is fabulous!
Left on 12/07/2011 for a stay in November 2011
Casa alegre is situated in a cute hilltop neighborhood in Pv--across from a little store--and has gorgeous views of the Pacific. Like Jeffrey's other properties, Casa alegre is beautifully decorated inside and out. I loved the private swim-up bar on the terrace as well as the lovely plants and hummingbird feeders that bring the birds right to you. Comfortable and spacious, this home has all of the comforts of your home and looks like it belongs in the pages of architectural Digest. The staff is superb!

Left on 12/03/2011 for a stay in December 2011
This property is spectacular! We had been staying at Jeffrey's other property in amapas-Casa Hortencias (reviewed) when 2 of us realized we could not leave so we changed our flight and extended our stay for 2 more days. Unfortunately the house we were in was booked for another arrival but Jeffrey's staff grabbed our luggage and food and hauled it to this slice of heaven, oh wait, that is one more flight up but I digress and will tell you about that in another review(:) First of all amapas and alta Vista are very different neighborhoods. Amapas is very quiet and removed from the hustle bustle of town. Alta Vista is in the thick of it. I sat on the veranda listening to the sounds of roosters, chickens, cow bells (garbage truck pick-up) and the race horse trumpet (gas truck delivery) and music from all around. Hummingbirds whizzed by me to get their food from various feeders and we had our own little pool and BBQ overlooking this amazing view of the city and ocean. I need to have both knees replaced so walking up and down the stairs was slow going for me but I didn't care. Plus Ricardo took our luggage down to the car when he took us to the airport (another service I highly recommend). It was so close to everything that if I had good knees I could walk everywhere! Instead we took cabs for $3-$4 and had amazing meals just blocks away. This kind of living is not suitable for "Starwood Points" people who only feel comfortable in "Americanized" places. This is for people like myself who want to feel like a local and experience the culture and food of the Mexican people whom I adore! While we were there we were able to go upstairs to view Casa Celeste...do you know what that means? Celestial or heavenly and that it was! I cannot wait to go back and stay there as well!
