Additional Location Information
Located on the Pacific Coast of Mexico Puerto Vallarta lays in the heart of Banderas Bay. The natural attractions that make Puerto Vallarta a magical place are three in number: the Sierra Madre Mountains, the rivers that flow down from them, and the Pacific Ocean. These come together in this extraordinary beach resort.
Vallarta's reputation for culinary excellence in Mexico is second only to that of Mexico City. Its multitude of award-winning restaurants that line the Malecón (sea-side promenade) extends to the mountainsides, beaches and even cliff tops, all the way from Boca de Tomatlán in the south to the North Shore.
Puerto Vallarta has received many global accolades that are a testament to the uniqueness and warmth of the city. The destination has been voted the friendliest city in the world by Condé Nast Magazine (2003), and the best Mexican Vacation Destination by USNews.com (2010), beating out Cancún and Los Cabos for the top prize.

Little Rock, ArkansasSpectacular Villa, Breathtaking Views, Friendly Staff
Left on 04/29/2013 for a stay in April 2013
From the moment we arrived at Casa Del Quetzal we were absolutely amazed by how beautiful the villa and and its views were! The home was very spacious, beautifully decorated, and spotlessly clean. We loved the open-air main level that provided fabulous views from every room. The staff...Aldo, Nelly, and Gloria were so incredibly kind, helpful, and took care of everything we needed. Nelly's fabulous cooking and aldo's margaritas were the highlight of our week! We felt very safe there and enjoyed walking around the neighborhood on the cobblestone streets. We ventured out a few times for fishing (arranged by aldo), shopping, and dining out on the Boardwalk...but we always couldn't wait to get back to the house. We spent most of our time relaxing by the infinity pool enjoying the breathtaking view! I would definitely love to return here...it was everything we had hoped for and more!

A truly beautiful experience. Breathtaking views. Beautifully decorated with traditional yet modern decor. Bedrooms with crisp, white cotton bedding create such a boutique hotel vibe. Incredibly attentive staff make it such a relaxing and enjoyable place to stay. Nothing better and I would return again.

atlantaUnbelievable Villa with Views to Match!
Left on 02/24/2013 for a stay in February 2013
I stayed at Casa del Quetzal with 9 other ladies upon the recommendation of a friend....and it did not disappoint! From the moment we stepped onto the property until the moment we departed, it was a top-notch experience.
First, the pictures of the house don't even begin to do it justice. Each of the five king-sized bedrooms had sitting areas and fully appointed baths. Each also had a private balcony with breathtaking views of the bay beyond. All of the common areas were open air and had the same unbelievable view as the bedrooms. There is an infinity pool with loungers that also overlooks the sea beyond and we spent most days parked right there!
Secondly, I must mention the staff....it truly would not have been the same experience without them. We never lifted a finger our entire stay! Aldo fixed drinks poolside, served snacks, made reservations, called cabs, arranged massages, whale watching expeditions, etc. Nellie fed us so well that we are still talking about it days later! Gloria went above and beyond to tidy our rooms and even wash our laundry. I cannot speak highly enough of them!
Lastly, I will just mention the landscape of Puerto Vallarta. It is very rugged and not at all like I envisioned- it's much more picturesque! The mountains running into the sea made it a beautiful sight to see each morning! -

The villa is amazing. All the rooms are huge and have huge patios they open up to. Staff is fantastic. Food cooked everyday at very reasonable prices. Cooked fresh seafood the same day it was caught. Took very good care to make sure we had everything we needed and had transportation to anywhere we wanted to go. Owners called us three times while we were there to make sure we had everything we needed. Both the staff and owners went out of their way to make sure we had a wonderful vacation. Will definitely come back. Thanks Joe, Jane, Aldo, Nelly and Gloria.

I would highly recommend Casa Del Quetzal. This was my third time to Puerto Vallarta and my third time renting a house. By far, this was my best house experience. The house was well kept, spacious and had beautiful views. The staff was friendly and the food was to die for.
The house has the right mixture of modern amenities with old fashioned Mexican villa style. Situated in Conchas Chinas, the house was far enough from town to have a remote and quiet feel, but close enough to either walk or take a 40-50 pesos cab ride to the city center. -

Case del Quetzal is top notch. From the clean, beautiful and modern house to the amazing views from the infinity pool and deck to the warm and helpful staff to the delicious homemade food, it is second to none. Our last stay was our third in the last five years and we will be back many many times.

Staying at Casa Del Quetzal is always a wonderful experience. From the moment you walk in, you are met with an unbelievable view that never gets old. The home is filled with beautiful art and furnishings, very comfortable, and just enough privacy for the guests. It is truly Mexican. The staff is friendly and courteous, and the food is amazing! We would venture out in the mornings to town or for a walk, but in the end always just wanted to get back to the villa. The location is ideal because you can walk to town if you would like some exercise, but it is also a simple taxi ride away. I have been 4 times and plan on going back.

I have stayed at Casa del Quetzal 3 different times over the past 10 years and continue to go back. It's a beautiful, traditional Mexican style villa with all of the amenities you could dream of. The house is impeccably clean, well maintained and comfortable. The staff is top notch. The food is delicious and so reasonably priced. The pool is private and has a beautiful, panoramic view of the Bay of Banderas. There is nothing better than floating in the infinity pool while watching a mother whale teach a baby to breech and play. I'm already planning my next trip!

What more could you ask for? The house has an incredible view. The house itself is remarkable. Everyone was comfortable and in a great mood because we didn't have to worry about housekeeping, cooking or shopping for food, and we had a torrent of margaritas and home made shrimp ceviche, salsa and guacamole to snack on. The chef made incredible meals, and there were endless options for side trips, depending on your budget and inclination. This vacation is in my top two best trips ever, on par with a trip to Tahiti. You couldn't ask for nicer, more helpful or friendly staff. You couldn't ask for a more glorious view. It's a very romantic house, my only regret was not bringing my boyfriend along. I heartily recommend this house and can't wait to go back again. Two things to be prepared for: 1) the house has a spectacular view because it is nearly at the top of a very tall hill, so you will need to plan to take taxis if you don't like taking walks up and down steep roads and 2) the pool is a good size, and lovely, but not huge, because it's on a cliff side. I was extraordinarily happy with the entire experience, but I was with a group of people in their 30s and 40s and we had a lot of fun.

Greeted with margaritas, guacamole, and other tasty treats while overlooking the dramatic view from the villa. Perfect location for R and R with each bedroom offering beautiful view and ambience of colonial Mexico. Understated elegance in the choice of decor throughout the villa. The staff attentive but unobtrusive providing for our every need. Dining in house was at least equivalent to the excellant restaurants in Puerto Vallarta.
Highly recommended for someone looking for luxurious accomodation in the midst of a tropical mountain-jungle environment. Beautiful tropical birds occasionally visiting the garden below were a special treat. -

Our party of ten had an fantastic time in this amazing home. This villa sits atop the mountain overlooking the entire bay of Puerto Vallarta. The home is tastefully decorated and each room has a phenomenal view of the bay. The heated infinity pool is great for just relaxing and taking in the breathtaking sunsets and views of Puerto Vallarta. The staff is very accommodating and the chef was extraordinary. This villa is close to town and all the nice beaches. I would recommend this beautiful place to anyone visiting Puerto Vallarta.

The week in Casa Del Quetzal was fantastic! I started each day in the pool watching the early comings and goings in the bay. The group then gathered for a made to order breakfast that was fabulous! Margarita's and Guac everynight before a home cooked dinner. The food, the accomodations and the views were spectacular!
Pv was great. At no point were any of us worried about Mexico and the troubles that are prevalent in other parts of the country. We felt safe everywhere we went and had a great time exploring. -
