Puerto Vallarta lies along Banderas Bay, the second largest bay in the Western Hemisphere. It is located 352 kilometers (219 miles) from Guadalajara, the state capital of Jalisco, and it is nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Madre mountain range. The region has many forests, rivers and waterfalls, with an average temperature of 27°C (80°F).
Of its many attractions, Playa Mismaloya – which gained fame from the film "The Night of the Iguana" – is a popular celebrity hangout. The impressive rock formations of Los Arcos emerge from the bay's crystalline waters, which are great for diving and discovering incredible underwater mountains and steeps. The city hall has murals painted by Manuel Lepe, and the Malecon (sea wall) is adorned with romantic bronze sculptures. Downtown streets offer shops and galleries that sell local paintings and sculptures. The city, known for its top-notch services, also has golf courses, boutiques and a marina.
In Puerto Vallarta you can enjoy the exquisite regional cuisine of Jalisco and the terraces of open-air restaurants, where you can watch cruise ships roll in as you take in an incredible sunset.
Sport fishing is just one of many activities you can do during your stay in Puerto Vallarta. Each year, during the month of November, the International Sailfish Fishing Tournament takes place. Other activities available in this region are eco-tourism, extreme sports, snorkeling, scuba diving, surfing, boating, golfing and nightlife.
Additional amenities include: private chef, houseman, wet bar, whirl pool spa, maid service: twice daily, alfresco dining.Read more

Excellent. The place was beautiful. The Chef was very good and Tony the house man was as helpful and kind as can be. The only issue was there was a major construction of condos going on all day everyday except Sunday which was a bit to much. We were warned about it beforehand. Also, a few of the Showers did not have hot water. The staff is perfect and house is gorgeous and close to downtown.
Great Family Vacation

It's such a great thing when the pictures online are far exceeded by the property! What an amazing stay... from the beautiful home, the gorgeous setting, lovely town, amazing staff... we can not say enough about this property and the incredible service we received from Luxury Retreats. - Vailia E., ,

It was exactly what we wanted. Sometimes the photos are much more better than the real house, in this case the real house was better than the photos! the service personnel was extraordinary, the view of the house can be enjoyed from every room, included the kitchen! The delicious furniture and decoration and the amenities of the house are great, and finally the best part of the experience was to have Marielena, the extraordinary cooker making breakfast and lunches very fine for us! - Martha D., ,

The house is very nice but it need a lot of maintenence. We found a lot of details that were left behind. For example the showers had problems with the water because sometimes there was water and sometimes there wasn´t. The firs day one of the chars broke just because some one sat on it (it was old). The people that helped were very nice but the kitchen and the refrigeretars were not that clean and ordered like I expected. The person that was suposed to receive us when we got to the house NEVER appeared. She never even answer the phone which really give me a terrible image. We never get to know her or even talk to her. (Her name is Teresa) But I have to tell you that our contact Jennifer Gagne and Grant Needham were excelent with us since the begining. To sum up I think the house is nice but needs a lot of maintenence and for the price we paide I think we could have rented a better house. We have traveled around the world renting houses and we recomend to check the property and price. - Lis M., ,

We were fortunate to spend 2 weeks there, the first being with our children and grandchildren and the second week with friends. It was the most relaxing and most wonderful vacation we have ever taken and everyone agreed the best house ever! This was our fourth consecutive year going to Mexico thru Luxury Retreats and every year we've moved on to experience a new part of a beautiful country, but I think we've found our home. Tony, the house manager, couldn't have been nicer and made us feel as if we'd known him for a lifetime. Marie Elena, the cook, was like having your Mom in the kitchen. She made incredible meals and shared her wonderful salad dressing recipe. From the grilled red snapper to the fried chicken and paella, we never had a meal we didn't just love. The house is beautiful and it's location perfect. Every room is a picture. Walking down the cobblestone street to the old part of town or walking along the beaches in both directions, allowed us not to need a car. We'll be b - Linda M., ,
Our Stay at Villa Las Puertas

The house exceeded our expectations. It is elevated enough to have incredible ocean views but close enough to the water to walk down to the beach (about 100 steps down a private stairwell). The staff work their tail off to make sure that everything is perfect. Oh, and the house is a beach walk away from downtown. I don\'t have a bad word to say about the place.

As we explored the house when we arrived, we could not believe how beautiful it was. Although we had studied the photos on the website, each room was more comfortable and beautiful than the next. The staff could not have been more helpful, the food was truly delicious, not to mention healthier than endless resort buffets. The house is unique in how many places there are to sit and relax. We were a family of 11 and it was always easy to find a quiet place by yourself. We loved that you could walk to town, although most of the grandparents in our group could not handle the 100+ stairs to the beach. Don\'t miss Margarita\'s ribs and Pepe\'s limonadas. I really can\'t say anything negative about the house or our expereince. If you are looking for a place for a group to be together, be it a girls\' retreat, a family reunion or just a couple of friends you couldn\'t pick a greater place.
