Puerto Vallarta lies along Banderas Bay, the second largest bay in the Western Hemisphere. It is located 352 kilometers (219 miles) from Guadalajara, the state capital of Jalisco, and it is nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Madre mountain range. The region has many forests, rivers and waterfalls, with an average temperature of 27°C (80°F).
Of its many attractions, Playa Mismaloya – which gained fame from the film "The Night of the Iguana" – is a popular celebrity hangout. The impressive rock formations of Los Arcos emerge from the bay's crystalline waters, which are great for diving and discovering incredible underwater mountains and steeps. The city hall has murals painted by Manuel Lepe, and the Malecon (sea wall) is adorned with romantic bronze sculptures. Downtown streets offer shops and galleries that sell local paintings and sculptures. The city, known for its top-notch services, also has golf courses, boutiques and a marina.
In Puerto Vallarta you can enjoy the exquisite regional cuisine of Jalisco and the terraces of open-air restaurants, where you can watch cruise ships roll in as you take in an incredible sunset.
Sport fishing is just one of many activities you can do during your stay in Puerto Vallarta. Each year, during the month of November, the International Sailfish Fishing Tournament takes place. Other activities available in this region are eco-tourism, extreme sports, snorkeling, scuba diving, surfing, boating, golfing and nightlife.Read more

We have stayed a Casa Ileana for the last several years for 3 or 4 weeks at a time. It is the absolute best. Christina, Ricardo and Chelsie take fabulous care of all your needs. Christina makes fabulous breakfasts 6 days a week and we have her fix dinner at least 2 or 3 nights a week. Ricardo and Chelsie make great margaritas and quesadillas, guacamole...
We love sitting around the open living area and spending time with our friends and family. The views from the villa are wonderful. It is an easy walk down the hill to the best shopping in Puerto Vallarta. A walk to and on the Malecon is easy and great exercise for keeping the weight off from Christina's great cooking. Every year is different in town and yet it is the same...
The views from the deck never get old! We always look forward to the fireworks every evening from somewhere on the bay. The pool, although not huge, does provide lap swimming for those that want it or just cooling off. Life at Casa Ileana is life at it's best!

Although we were there during the presidential election, I felt like the King of Mexico. Casa Ileana made us feel like we were in a castle on the side of a mountain looking over Old PV. The staff was amazing and friendly, and could cook some of the best Mexican breakfast I have ever had (and I\'m a Chef). The rooms, though some larger than other, were all at least hotel sized and had five star accommodations, from soft beds to A/C units. The living area, dinging room, kitchen and pool is where we spent most of our time, which always came with comfort, a satisfying view, and brilliant sunsets. I can\'t recommend Casa Ileana enough, and if I did I would ruin the surprise... - Jeremy K., Colorado, USA
Fabulous. From beginning to end, everything was perfect.

The staff at Casa Ileana is the best I have ever experienced. Christina prepared a wonderful breakfast every morning and went above and beyond at every turn. My son became ill while we were there and she cared for him like he was her own, made extra trips to the store, brought medicine, etc. The house was beautiful, the views were outstanding, I would highly recommend it and I am sure we will return next year. - Janelle W., Colorado, USA

We have spent a week in each of the last 5 years during February - March at Casa Ileana. The setting is spectacular, on a hill, with a superb view of Puerto Vallarta. The house is indeed a Tuscan villa, delightfully and creatively decorated with ample bedrooms and baths. One of the best parts of the house is the open common living area. Our group has ranged between 6 and 10 and the house provides plenty of areas to visit or swim or read quietly. The staff, led by Christina, looks after everyone with care and attention. They are never obtrusive, but yet anticipate everyone's needs. Christina and her team are a huge plus for Casa Ileana. In addition, Christina's cooking is fantastic! We hope to return for many more visits and couldn't recommend this villa more highly.

The villa, the staff and the city were all amazingly wonderful. I was a bit apprehensive about being in the hillside and not located on the beach, but the beach is only a short distance away and the villa makes you feel like you are in a very private area. The pool was fantastic. I can not say enough great things about the staff. Christi cooked breakfast every day and dinner 2 nights for us. The meals were delicious.\r\nWe had 8 in our party and the villa offered plenty of space so we were all comfortable. The common space gave us the oppertunity to visit with each other which you can not get in a hotel and each had their own bedroom and bath for privacy.\r\nThe drive from the airport was about 20 mins once we rented a car (rent a smalll one the streets are narrow). \r\nI would suggest this villa to all. \r\n
