Herndon, VirginiaGreat Return Visit!
Left on 04/17/2013 for a stay in March 2013
Hey Geoff,
We're back. Unfortunately.
Great trip. Spent a couple days in Orosi and then the bulk of the week in Punta Uva. Was surprised to see that the road to Manzanillo is paved now! It actually makes getting around a lot easier. Less dusty.
The house was just as we remembered. Clean and comfortable.
Overall the house and trip was fantastic!
Thanks again!

Hi Geoff, arrived home a few hours ago after a great 2 weeks in Costa Rica. First 6 days was at Casa Dakini which was wonderful. Really enjoyed your house, and Pascal was there to greet us with coconuts, and welcoming information.
As for tips for others:
1. The directions you provided were awesome.
2. Can't count on renting bikes at Lucy's, never seemed to be around, but lots of places to rent bikes a few minutes away towards the north.
3. Do the cacao tour at Caribeans (at Ohm Yoga) with Geoff and his wife; really informative and lots of fun if you like chocolate. And they even make chocolate with beans from Pascal's farm!
4. Did a great 4 hour hike in the Manzanillo Wild Life Refuge with a great guide booked through the tourist info place in Puerto Viejo in front of Salsa Brava.
5. Best 3 meals by far were at Jungle Love, el Refugio Grill, and Pura Gula
6. Best cheap eats were at the Bakery, Caribeans, Veronica's (Vegan and raw food), & Pita Bonita.
Thanks again! Till next time, pura vida!

Hello Geoff,
We had a lovely time with the wildlife in and around, the property was amazing. Highlight was the chocolate tour, the jaguar sanctuary is a must especially great for children.
Didn't have one bad meal.
A great time had by all,
Thank you,
Trelawnie

Quebec, CanadaA Gorgeous View!
Left on 03/14/2013 for a stay in March 2013
Hey Geoff,
I just wanted to let you know that the house was wonderful! Everything we needed was there and Pascal was a great help, especially when our rental car died overnight! We spent a ton of time just sitting on the porch taking in the view, absolutely gorgeous. Thanks so much for such a great experience and it was a pleasure renting from you.
All the best,
Chloe

Massachusettsperfect accomodation for our family
Left on 09/02/2010 for a stay in July 2010
My family of 5 (including three children ages 1 - 10) stayed in this wonderful house in Punta Uva for nearly 2 weeks. The house was clean and in excellent condition (save for a few bent screens) and we were greeted by the caretaker, Maria, who cheerfully helped us with any and all concerns throughout our stay. The kitchen is quite functional, the living room is equipped with sofas (later to become beds for children) and a t.v., the master bedroom is comfortable with views of the ocean, the porch is lovely and perfect for watching toucans, monkeys and butterflies, and the bathrooms/showers are great. We put the baby on a futon on the floor next to us (we would have brought a portable crib if we had had the room), which was fine except for my own fears of creepy crawlies. That said, some bugs do get in (including occasional scorpions - we saw three), but remember, you are in Costa Rica, and overall, the house does keep most critters out. We never had a problem with mosquitoes. The house is private and up a steep drive, but is very close to gorgeous beaches, restaurants, hiking trails, and really anything you might need. Visiting the Caribe Sur and staying in Casa Dakini were the highlights of our trip to Costa Rica.

Berlin, germanyRelax with jungle feeling
Left on 08/20/2010 for a stay in July 2008
Relax with jungle feeling near by the sea. The distance for going swimming is like this: It's walkable, but mostly you decide to use the car. First you think this is a negative point of the location (at home you see yourself near the coastline under coconut trees), but in reality you find it much cooler and calmer in Casa Dakini than on the beachside. The construction of the house is simple but clever. What else do you need.

Santa FeAn absolutely wonderful holiday.
Left on 08/06/2010 for a stay in January 2008
A beautiful and well built house with glass windows and screens. We loved the walk down to the beach and also loved the 4x4 you'll need to get up the road in the rain. We'd go again tomorrow.

CharlestonOutstanding Costa Rican Experience
Left on 07/25/2010 for a stay in November 2009
My wife and I have been to CR 3 times. Last year we had a at great stay at Casa Dakini in Punta Uva. We stayed there on our first trip-went Pacific in year 2, did both coasts in year 3. We enjoy the tranquility, beauty and magic of that location. The porch is awesome and we had many beers watching the darkness envelop us night after night. We love the natural fly-way for birding. It really is one of the best secret beaches in all of CR.

Montreal, CanadaParadise in Jungle
Left on 07/16/2010 for a stay in March 2010
We had a fantastic experience at Casa Dakini!!
Yes, the house is up a steep hill, however this allowed us to enjoy the flora and fauna of the jungle with a superb view of the Carribean Sea
The house was very well equiped for cooking, the bedroom was comfortable and the covered porch area was our favorite place to watch the birds. Ana, the caretaker, was very helpful and always available to answer our questions
We would definitely go back to this little paradise
