ParisBeautiful house but...
Left on 09/20/2012 for a stay in September 2012
We planned to stay to Costa Rica for 2 weeks at the beginning.
Th house is nice and beautiful at first sight. Problems begins after.
Because of its emplacement, the house is isolated, and not secure.
We have been followed by people certainly trying to rob everything in it, and maybe more to us... We manage to sleep outside the residence, but even after calling the cops, we had to leave because of that unsafe feeling. Noises can be eared all around the house every nights, and everyone can come in as they want.
The house has fruits falling every days and night on the roof, making a huge amount of noise.
It hasn't been cleaned on time when we were here.
Internet is not included in the price.
The rental office close at 4pm, sometime 3pm...
Even with this traumatic situation, where the person renting the house helped us, we didn't get any refund for the week we were not in.
This is not normal.

Owner
Dimitri,
I found your comment highly misleading. the house was ready/clean and set up upon your arrival even though we were not sure when , and where you wanted to stay.
The House is NOT secluded as they are 4 houses around them, yes not too close to each other to insure privacy for each.
the house has an open living but bedrooms, kitchen are closed and with very secure locks, plus a safe.
I do understand that one can get scared and when you come to my place at night to ask for security , I called the police which arrive in a timely manner and did a round the house and in the neighborhood.
Yes the house was paid for 2 weeks and you stay one but can refund as the contract states. You would have been robbed, of course I would have but in this case, you left because you didn't feel safe which has nothing to do with the house.
I am sorry you feel like that and the other comments speak very highly of this house.

Houston, TexasBest area to Stay
Left on 07/02/2012 for a stay in June 2012
The house is really well arranged. It is perfect for adults, with the rooms on separate sides of the house. The birds are amazing in the area..but they wake you early each morning around 5:30. We would have coffee in the outdoor living room area and watch the birds every morning. The only negative at all...was it was unseasonably warm 2 or 3 of the days we were there at night..so it was a bit warm. We could have used a fan in each bedroom. There is no air conditioning in the area because normally you don't need it. The location is perfect..you are close enough to Puerto Viejo that you can ride in on a bike... and we thought the beach at Playa Chaquita and Punta Uva were prettier and better for swimming than Puerto Viejo. The waves in Puerto Viejo are mauch larger for surfing.

San Franciso, CABeautiful, Perfect location to the beach and town!
Left on 07/12/2011 for a stay in June 2011
We were six girls traveling Costa Rica and decided to stay near the beach town of Puerto Viejo for a 4 days. Casa arosfa is perfectly located and great for a family or group of friends. We rented bikes in town, the bike ride to town is about 10-15mins. I suggest getting a taxi at night, theres minimal lights..kinda scary! The house was very clean, well kept, and it stayed cool in the hot weather. Estaban who helps with maintenace is little cutie and always there to help. The housekeeper was a very sweet lady also. Overall, if we ever go back to Puerto Viejo we will definetely stay at Casa arosfa!

Victoria, BCVery comfortable
Left on 02/28/2011 for a stay in February 2011
Overall the house was very comfortable and well stocked, but it would have been considerably more so with the addition of a blanket for the upstairs bed, good lighting - it was very hard to see to cook or to read - and with a lighter for lighting the gas cooktop as we had only two matches!
The beach very nice and was only 5 minute walk away and the house was located in a quiet area convenient to Puerto Viejo.
I would definitely stay again.

La Flor de Paraiso, CartagoRelaxing in the country and at the beach
Left on 12/02/2010 for a stay in November 2010
What more could you ask for peace and quiet... birds everywhere... the beach 2 minutes away and can hear the waves all day long. The house is new and spacious, clean and light with a full kitchen. We did Thanksgiving for 16 no problem.
Black beach goes on for miles and you can have the beach to yourself at different times of the day... may have to share with a dog or two and wild horses. The house is in the country... so peacefully. Perfect!!
