Arlington Heights, IllinoisRelaxation in the Galapagos
Left on 10/09/2012 for a stay in August 2012
Marianna picked us up at the port and greeted us with a warm hug. She provided transportation to and from the port and provided us with fresh bottled water to start our vacation off right. The ecolodge is beautiful and spotless. If you take an appreciation for high quality living accomodations than you will appreciate the ecolodge. Town is within 10 minutes walking distance and has several restaurants ranging from $7-$25. Marianna is happy to arrange tours to the volcanos, scuba diving and bicycle rentals. Concha de la Perla is 5 minutes from the ecolodge and is a swimming hole perfect for snorkeling and sunning with the sea lions. What an incredible week I had on Isabela Island. Thank you thank you thank you.

We didn't want to leave!!!
Left on 09/18/2012 for a stay in September 2012
From day 1 Mariana and Wilson treated us more like friends than renters. Their warm reception and the heavenly accommodations made our stay more than expected. After a bit of a disappointment on Santa Cruz lodging, we weren't expecting much from the less inhabited Isabella. But we were wrong. Mariana took exceptional care of us for our week stay. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and just nice. We loved the Galapagos video provided :)
The short walk to Concha de la Perla became a daily routine as we snorkeled with sea lions and turtles. Activities were organized by Mariana without her becoming too intrusive. We had a wonderful meal provided by her and Wilson over some wine and we truly never felt more welcome. It was like old friends meeting up. Thank you again for a wonderful experience.
Specific positives: great hosts, nice/clean/modern accommodations, hot water, filtered rain water was provided for cooking, drinking water was provided, snorkeling equipment was provided for a small fee, flat screen tv with DVD player and a movie selection, and quiet location.
Small notes: when we got there we were expecting the property to be the top floor as pictured, but it was the lower level under Mariana and Wilson (not an issue, just not expected). Additionally, when we got there they were in the process of building another apartment so there was construction on our door step the entire time. Mariana accommodated us with free breakfast at a local restaurant (El Farro - which is great for dinner as well). Also, the work didn't start until we were up for the day and was generally finished by the time we got back from our activities, so the impact to us was small.
Otherwise, we understand why the place is highly rated and would recommend it to our friends. -

We stayed Chez Manany in august 2012 and really enjoyed! We had a very warm and friendly welcome from Manany and Wilson. Manany was extremely helpful in organizing our transfers and showing us what to see and what to do around. The house is very beautiful and ecologically-minded. It is also very close to the port and within walking-distance of main attractions in town. We strongly recommend this place if you want to stay in Isabela.

BlackpoolChez Manany
Left on 08/10/2012 for a stay in July 2012
We stayed with Manani and Wilson for just over a week, myself my wife and our 3Yo had great stay. The house was so close to Concha de Perla (amazing snorkelling, sea lions, 2m wide rays, turtles, marine iguanas get trapped there when the tide goes out- its sheltered and very special) that we could go there very early in the mornings or late in the evening, meaning that we had the whole place to just ourselves and the animals.
Manany and Wilson were really welcoming and warm, and we became friends over a BBQ at the house, with roasted wild boar from the highlands which Manany helped me to source when she heard I was a dedicated carnivore. Music, stories, -amazing- meat and tasty champagne with good company.
I'd recommend this place to anyone, Chez Manany was a gem, cheaper and doubtless more ecologically minded and personal than the mid to high price range hotels in Isabella town.

MarylandFabulous!!!
Left on 10/12/2011 for a stay in September 2011
Chez Manany is wonderful! The apartment is beautiful, clean, and comfortable. And Manany and her husband, Wilson, are so kind and accommodating. They helped with every aspect of our trip - planning, arrangements, tours, taxis, and groceries. Manany even taught me how to make homemade yogurt! The location of the apartment is wonderful for going snorkeling at Concha de Perla and only a 10 or 15 minute walk to town. If you aren“t up for the walk (my mom injured her knee and wasn“t able to walk much), Manany will call a taxi for you. This is a fabulous place and I recommend it to all.
Thanks Manany!!! -

Madrid, SpainChez Manany, Concha DE Perla, Isla Isabela, Galapagos. Un ParaĆs
Left on 02/15/2011 for a stay in January 2011

Dunedin, New Zealand.A peaceful haven on a unique island
Left on 11/14/2010 for a stay in August 2010
My Husband and I enjoyed a wonderful week at Chez Manany at the end of august. From our first communication with the Owner, Mariana, we felt she was a friend and this was certainly the case by the time we left Ecuador. Mariana was so helpful, answering our many questions before we left New Zealand, and she was more then happy to book our Baltra to Isabela flight for us. The property was spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished and we were able to completely relax, especially after the long flight from New Zealand. We enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and all Isabela had to offer. We were only about a 5 minute walk away from the centre of the town where there are quite a few local restaurants, a beautiful beach and a lot of nature to enjoy. We hired the bicycles one day and cycled to the Wall of Tears, a wonderful ride stopping off at the many bays along the way, not to mention having to stop to avoid cycling over the Iguanas and Tortoises sunning themselves on the road. Chez Manany is very close to the very picturesque little port. The property was everything the photos and description of it portrayed it to be. We would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone who is looking for peace and relaxation and wanting to enjoy nature, and by staying here it certainly avoids the sea conditions!!

GermanyOase der Erholung
Left on 10/13/2010 for a stay in April 2009

Left on 10/07/2010 for a stay in May 2010
This home provided a quiet getaway for us. We thought the lodging was nicer in person than it was in the pictures. It is located very close to the dock where we arrived and a lagoon for snorkeling. It is walking distance to the beach and
town. The hostess was so helpful and gave us a personal tour of the town as well as booking our ferry ride to the island. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare the breakfast we enjoyed on the porch every morning.
It was extremely clean and comfy. I would stay there again. We rented bikes from the hostess and rode to see the tortoises. I wish I were there right now. -
Review from Quito
Quito, EcuadorRelaxing Visit on Isabel Island
Left on 10/07/2010 for a stay in November 2009
My husband and I had done the boat trip all around the Galapagos islands years ago. However, we decided that this time we wanted to stay on one island and explore. We picked Isabela for its various sights and geography as well as its location in the Galapagos.
I first found Mariana and Will's place on the web. The photos were beautiful and Mariana's first email response was extremely warm and friendly. Mariana arranged all the details of our flight to and from Isabela and, after having to delay our trip, she was very helpful in making all the arrangements needed to change our dates - and was very gracious about the change in plans.
Chez Manany had everything we were hoping for: privacy, yet accessability to town; plenty of room to feel like we were at home; and a nice place to return to after full days out on the island or at sea. Mariana could not have been
more helpful and both she and her husband felt like old friends by the time we left for home.
One of the best things about their location for my husband was that he could walk to a nearby swimming pond every morning to start his day with a cooling swim. The marina was just around the corner for our day boat trips and the
town was only about a ten minute walk to go to meet up with our guides for the other day trips we took. It was safe enough to walk to town at night for an evening meal and to enjoy the night breezes.
All in all, if you are planning to spend a few days on Isabela, you simply could not do better than Chez Manany!
We hope to get back soon.

BerlinGalapagos Isabella Paradise with eco way of life
Left on 10/06/2010 for a stay in December 2009
Chez Manany is not just a place to stay, it is an experience to be at one with nature in absolute luxurious accommodations. It is difficult to put into words the feeling of pure, wonderful Isabela Galapagos island and the eco lodge of Chez Manany. The wooden house is a new construction and the owner take care of eco standards ( e.g. solar energy pannels, water purification system). The appartment has a own kitchen, flat schreen, big double bed, internet. The appartment is quit big and comfortable.
The best on Chez Manany lodge is the look-out tower from which we have enjoyed the sea and marvellous landscape view of isabela island.
The owners of Chez Manany - Manany and Wilson are such kind and caring people, I felt like I knew them for most of my life. We have coocked together, they support us to book our sightseeing tours and we could learned some spanish words too.
We recommend Chez Manany, because of high value of eco lodge standards, cute owners and wonderful place to stay in Galapagos. The saving compare to a cruise ship are extremly and sightseeing effect is higher on Isabella Island.
