Just returned from a 6 week stay at the Playa Turquesa condo. This is one of the best condos in Punta Cana for location, beach access etc... Everything you need is close by, wether it be the bakery, grocery store, spas, taxis etc.. This condo is well equipped and comes with everything you may need (dishes provided are enough for 8 people). The best part of this condo for us was the grill that is situated on the patio, as we are grillers and cooked most of our meals here. Other neighbours were somewhat jealous of this perk as very few of other condos are equipped with this (we counted a maximum of 4). The propane tank was empty after our first week there and a call to Todd quickly remedied this, as I received a full one well within one hour. Well above my expectations, because after all we are in the Dominican Republic and not everyhting is this quick. Beds were really comfortable and patio furniture is provided and enough for 6 people to eat outside.

My Wife and I stayed here for a last minute trip to the DR. The location is great and very quiet. The location is just 15 mins from the airport and is in a gated community. There are restaurants nearby either on the beach or next to the complex. There is also a market nearby for your convenience. The areas felt safe although I thought it curious that the security guards at the facility asks my wife and I for food and water a couple of times. It is a little daunting when you know the security gurards (carrying shotguns) are asking their guests for sustanence.
The complex is very new and pratically empty. Most of the units are open and the others I assume are vacation use only. There are two pools. We used the one closest to the beach and only had company there twice during our short week long visit. During our staty the pool bar opened up. They also put out brand new lounge chairs for us to use. The grounds are very clean and as I said before the atomosphere is very quiet. The only noise we had was the next door all inclusive resort which sometimes played their music until 11pm.
The beach right in front of the complex was very clean. The grounds crew rakes it everyday. There is also a security guard standing out there all day. The only slight bother we had was from the salesmen next door at a newly remodeled hotel. They were asking for people to tour the hotel and buy. Once they got to know you though they left you alone. The beach also has a roped off private swim area for the guests of the complex.
We were not looking for loud nightlife, so we were happy with what was nearby. I would recommend eating at Capitan Cook's, Soles and some other place starting with Playa and started with a B. It is past Jellyfish restaurant and it also the place where one of the sea excursions stops for a lobster meal. The setting is great and romantic...just get there before 7 or you have to wait until the excursion group gets fed to order your meal. Soles was our most favorite location. Nice, beach elegance with a european twist. Although empanadas aren't dominican I would recommend ordering the empanadas. Sit back with a cold Presidente and relax. Also try the coconut salmon...Yum!
The beaches are endless. We walked about 2 hours one direction one day and another 2 hours the other direction the next day and still have more beach to walk. The beaches here in terms of walking are the best I have ever seen.
We rented this condo through Pieza Del Paraiso from the owner Michael. He was the one that we recognized from a House Hunters International episode in the DR. He was very nice. He picked us up from the airport, showed us around the area, some nice properties and even helped us when we couldn't use our atm cards to get cash. Do not forget to call your credit card companies and banks to let them know that you left the country. All of our stuff was put on hold because they expected fraud.
The DR and Playa Turquesa is great to relax, be quiet, enjoy your spouse and take in some beach.
