Hacienda Alegre is a unique creature in the Bay of Banderas located near the very popular vacation destination, Puerto Vallarta. The main house stands on a 25-foot cliff overlooking the beach. You can enjoy sweeping and uninterrupted views east to Puerto Vallarta, with Matisse-style mountains providing a backdrop right around the horseshoe-shaped bay. To the west, you can look along the rugged coastline towards the Pacific Ocean where surfing is a daily delight. The sunsets are magic!

Family Christmas
Left on 03/20/2013 for a stay in January 2012
We had the pleasure of spending the Christmas holiday with our whole family (from ages 67 to 4 years old) at this magical location. Although the pictures look beautiful, they cannot do it justice!! We got full use of the pool area and tennis courts and the gardens are beautiful and immaculately kept. There was plenty of room for all of us and the rooms were first rate. The house staff were very helpful and friendly and went out of their way to accommodate our every wish - from amazing meals, to margaritas and appetizers by the pool, to a New Year\'s Eve bonfire and fireworks on the beach and, of course, the burro rides!! The homemade salsa and guacamole were amazing (we had them every day) and the fish tacos are to die for!! Thanks to Pablo, Martha, Ellie and Roman in particular, for all their assistance in making this a vacation of a lifetime!! Everything was so perfect, we never left the property for the 10 days!!
