An easy three and a half hour drive through many new highway sections and you arrive on COSTA BALLENA, the part of the South Pacific Coast generally described as Dominical to Ojochal, but this home is in the heart of that area above the national park of Playa Ballena. The waters of this coast and the Ballena National Marine Park host large groups of humpback whales two different times each year.

This is a rural setting, with all services readily available and a history of fine restaurants, especially in Ojochal. The restaurant at BALLENA BEACH CLUB (BBC) is a local favorite and the ammenities offer a secure and comfortable facility to enjoy one of the most pristine beaches of the country.

This is a unique opportunity for your Costa Rica vacation plan; it provides waking up in the morning with Toucans flying past the deck at breakfast, take a hike through a private preserve to the waterfall, visit the beach (Playa Ballena), the centerpiece of the National Park wth comfortable services and ammenities, Kayaks, Boogie Boards, Pools & GREAT RESTAURANT.

Hikes through rivers and to waterfalls abound, snorkeling & diving both at the rock formations just offshore and by boat tour to Isla del Cano. We provide services to arrange the best experiences for boat and other local tours.

Here you enjoy viewing the Osa Peninsula & Isla de Cano, if you wish to visit these unique places, a 40 minute drive puts you at Sierpe and the services for exploring the Mangrove Canals of Rio Sierpe, the channel between Osa and Cano where it is consistent to encounter whales & dolphins as well as productive fishing; and Isla del Cano the best diving on the Pacific Coast, with the chance to encounter turtles or groups of reef shark, an abundance of tropical fish, rock formations and some coral.

The Village of Ojochal is known for many fine dining opportunities from Fine Contintenal Cuisine, Indonesian, Italian, Authentic Tico ............. and our favorite Restaurante Villa Leonor at Ballena Beach Club.

  Thanks for a great time. We really loved the ambiance of the mountain. We can't believe what luxury is up that mountain. Great views, toucans, parrots and so many other birds, howler and white faced monkeys...it was great. Great hospitality at the beach club. Swimming in the pool and the ocean view is the cherry on top. We'll be back to this top notch rental again.
