Description from the owner

A delightful stone holiday cottage on a small organic fruit and veg farm with views over Cardigan Bay and the mountains. Situated between the lovely scenery and unspoilt beaches of the Llyn Peninsula and the mountains of Snowdonia, it is perfect for families, as a base for walking or cycling holidays, or simply relaxing. 4 Star.

Inside the cottage, Upstairs: The upstairs bedroom has two single beds and a large openable Velux window with a fine view. Above the shower room is the 'minstrel's gallery' which makes a wonderful play area for kids, so they're within sight but not under your feet.

Inside the cottage, Downstairs: Underfloo...Read more

    Additional Location Information

Gwyndy cottage is located on a small farm in Llangybi village. Because the farm is down its own private drive, there is no passing traffic so it is both peaceful and safe for children. The village is on is on a cycle route, partly because the roads carry little traffic. There is an ancient well, St Cybi's well, whose waters were claimed to have healing properties just 10 minutes walk away. a further 20 minutes takes you to the top of Garn Bentyrch with its Iron Age hillfort and a superb view.
It is easiest to get to the cottage by car and there is a private parking area with ample room for turning just outside the cottage. The nearest convenient railway station is Pwllheli where you can hire a taxi (it's about a 20-minute trip).

perfect place far from the madding crowd

Left on 02/15/2013 for a stay in April 2012

Wonderful welcome with flowers and tomatoes from the garden. Everything well-looked after, light, airy, warm and cosy. Maximum amount of sunshine due to huge conservatory and big roof windows. Beautiful view from the conservatory across to Harlech and from the terrace across to Snowdonia.Lovely comfy furniture and well-equipped kitchen.Val and Bry had lots of lovely fresh organic salad and veg for sale and showed us around their gorgeous garden, orchard and fields. Lovely to see cows eating wild plums, sheep grazing and birds nesting in front of our very noses. Situated in the middle of nowhere it took us a couple of days not to get lost every time we came home but that was all part of the charm and one of the most important things about the cottage. You are able to relax in complete peace far away from crowds of people. We had many super walks without having to use the car. For shopping the car is necessary, but as there are so many things to see and visit in the area and so many steam trains to ride on, there is always a village shop or supermarket somewhere on the way. Gwyndy is a beautiful place into which Val and Bry have put a lot of love and expertise. It was wonderful one snowy Easter day to come home wet and freezing and be able to light the fire and snuggle up in front of it with a good book. We have stayed here twice already once at Easter and once in august. It will definitely not be the last time.

      warm and cosy

      Fabulous peaceful cottage

Left on 01/22/2013 for a stay in December 2012

We stayed here over Christmas and cannot recommend the place highly enough! We are a family of four, and there was ample room for all of us. The Minstrels Gallery made a great place for the kids to play - they loved it! There are beautiful views out of the conservatory, and the cottage itself was so warm and cosy. The owners were friendly, but not intrusive, and we found are stay here a real pleasure. There were lovely walks direct from the cottage, and lots of other things to do within half an hour drive, both beaches and mountains - a really beautiful part of the world.
