This little "upside down" house has been furnished and equipped for couples who want to relax and enjoy peace and tranquility.

The house is equipped to a high standard and is available for year round holidays.

The double bedroom is on the first floor and has a comfortable double bed with bedside tables and lamps. There is a wardrobe with shelving and a small dressing table. There is an electric radiator, electric fan, hairdryer and full length mirror.

The shower room is located next door and has a shower, heated towel rail, extractor fan, mirrored shelving unit above the wash basin, there is also a washing machine.

The... next floor takes you into the spacious living room with english tv, dvd/cd player, wood burner and electric radiator. The south facing window looks over the roof tops of the village to the hills.

On the top floor is the kitchen/diner. The kitchen is well equipped for your holiday needs and has a 4 ring ceramic hob with electric oven, fridge/freezer, microwave oven, coffee filter and a good selection of crockery and cutlery. The dining table is opposite.

Outside from the kitchen is the roof terrace which has simply wonderful views of the countryside, it is south facing and very private. There are two sun loungers, dining table and chairs and a gas bbq. The perfect place to pass your time.Read more

Additional Location Information

The village of Le Vivier nestles in the hills of the Fenouilledes region of the Eastern Pyrenees and is possibly one of the most interesting and scenic parts of France. The village is approximately 11 kms from the nearest shops of Caudies where you will find a bar, restaurant, boulangerie, butchers, chemist, doctors and small mini market. There are delivery vans to Le Vivier bringing fresh bread, meats and cheeses and is always a good place to mix with the locals who are always friendly and will always say "Bonjour"
During the months of July and August the large open air pool in Fosse, 3 kms away is open 6 afternoons per week and is free of charge.
The Fenouilledes are known for its large production of wines and is situated in the heart of where the Cathars built thier mountain perched castles. All three Cathar castles - Queribus, Peyrepertuse and Puilaurens are with in a short drive. The views are breathtaking. It is also where the Romans came to stay, leaving a fantastic example of thier wormanship in the form of an aquaduct in the village of Ansignan. It is still used for irrigation today.
The cosmopolitan cities of Carcassonne and Perpignan are always worth a visit as is the lovely Mediterranean coast where the water in summer reaches a lovely 24 to 25 degrees and is a good place to buy fresh oysters, mussles and enjoy the catch of the day.
Whatever your holiday needs are, you will find them around this area. If the thought of white water rafting and rock climbing leaves you feeling tired, you can always go for a long walk in totally unspoiled countryside or, sit on the roof terrace with a good book a chilled glass of local wine and do nothing but listen to the wind in the trees, birds singing and just look at the views - perfect.

Long winter lets are available from november to april. The monthly rate is 550 euros per calendar month for a minimum of two months. The price includes bedding and towels but excludes electricity which will be paid monthly. Wood for the fire can be purchased locally.

  We stayed for 2 weeks in January, the weather was mixed but we enjoyed our stay very, very much. It has to be one of the better places we have stayed and we would go back but next time in summer. The house is for couples with one bedroom but this makes it more luxurious and spacious. Very well equipped - even had tooth picks !
  The owners were friendly and helpful, the place was spotless. The village is very quiet but it was January. There were some wonderful walks close by with scenery to match and loads to do and see. The photos do not do the house justice.
