This is a lovely holiday home . Instant access to the beach at the bottom of the garden. Loved the hammock. The kayaks were fun. The decking is great for entertaining. The sea is cold and exhilarating so the hot tub was a welcome treat to get toasty afterwards

We stayed at Sealbourne for a relaxing time after two weeks travelling. It was a great choice. Quiet and peaceful with a lovely beach and wonderful views. Lots of fun in the hot tub after a day out, playing table tennis and beach games, swimming aand canoeing on the water. A wonderful time for all the family.

Its not always easy to please the whole family particularly when it contains teenagers but Sealbourne was a hit with us all. The house was spacious, well equiped and comfortable and the beach, whether the tide was in or out, always seemed virtually empty. Kayaking, especially in the early evening when the seals would pop their heads up nearby, was fabulous. My daughter and I also loved exploring the beach at low tide. We even saw a sun star fish (it really does look like a sun) amazing. Qualicum village isn't far away and had a bank, pharmacy, bookshop etc. and the supermarket was good. We had some wonderfully clear night skies whilst we were Bbqing on the deck and even saw some shooting stars. I have friends who have visited on my recommendation and they were not disappointed.

Bermudamagic ocean front getaway
Left on 03/22/2011 for a stay in August 2006
We stayed at Sealbourne twice for a week in august (2004 and 2006) with friends and family. The house is situated right on the ocean front and has everything you wish for in a vacation home: It is clean, well furnished, the rooms are cozy and it has a well equipped kitchen. The spacious deck overlooks the ocean and its hot tub provided fun for all. During low tide the waterfront property extends for 100 m out across mud flats. We went beach combing for hours, relaxed in beach chairs or played boule and capture the flag. We can highly recommend this fantastic place and look forward to our next visit.

BermudaA memorable stay
Left on 03/17/2011 for a stay in August 2007
Staying in Sealbourne at Qualicum Beach proved one of our more memorable and relaxing family holidays. The house is wonderfully comfortable and spacious, the generous outdoor living space with extensive decking and hot tub a real boon. To be able to literally step off the deck and down on to the beach was fantastic, and many a great walk was enjoyed at all times of the day. Low tide provided an impressively large sandy playground for the whole family. The location was also easy driving distance to amenities too which was useful.

We had a fantastic holiday here in 2009. The location of the house couldn't be more idyllic, on a quiet beach with stunning views across the water back towards the mainland and the mountains visible against the skyline in the distance. With eagles nesting in the trees around and seals bathing on the rocks just out to sea, you couldn't ask for a more relaxing and enjoyable place to unwind and soak up the sun. Loved the inside of the house - very comfy and with a great dining room to eat with family, especially if you manage to land a salmon that has been caught that day! Loved relaxing in the hot tub with a cold beer after a day on the beach or out kayaking in the sea.
The local town, Qualicum, is small but quaint with a decent supermarket and French Creek has a great selection of freshly caught fish including that famous Canadian salmon (there really is nothing like it when it is that fresh). About 45 mins away, Nanaimo has a decent mall if you need to do any shopping and market town Coombs is definitely worth a visit even if just to visit the famous 'Goats on the roof' cafe (yes there really are goats on the roof) which does an amazing brunch. We went hiking in Strathcona national park and the walk was truly breathtaking. Anyone interested should google 'della falls' - thought to be the highest waterfall in Canada and can be reached by a fairly easy walk from Central Lake which itself can be reached by an hour long speedboat ride.
Sealbourne is a great base to explore all the island has to offer but most importantly it is the perfect escape from any stresses in life. I found it to be simply fantastic and will be planning many more visits back here. Having stayed in a number of similar places on the island and the mainland (I have lots of family in BC), I think the comfort and location Sealbourne offers anyone lucky enough to stay here is unbeatable and I was wanting for nothing during my stay... apart from more time to enjoy it of course!
Many thanks!! :) -

There was something for everyone! Peace and quiet, hammock swinging, long walks on the beach, swimming, kayaking, climbing Seal Rock, boce, table tennis, hot tubbing...my kids were thoroughly entertained and dubbed it as the best vacation ever. The house is fully equipped and very comfortable and the view is unsurpassed. We highly recommend it!

Our group of friends were seeking a winter break in an unspoiled corner, with access to the wilds of nature but also with access to local art and possibly, the option of classes in photography and ceramics - Sealbourne could not have been a more perfect haven and our every wish was met. Simply beautiful.

This holiday property is wonderful. The location is superb, it was great being able to walk out off the decking each morning straight onto the beach and run or walk and explore the shoreline. The house is beautiful, very comfortable with excellent facillities for cooking and relaxing. The nearby towns have everything you need and the trips into the mountains were fascinating. The children loved the swimming, seeing seals and the hot tub! We will definitely be returning to Sealbourne in the future.

I've stayed twice at Sealbourne--once with friends and once with family. It's a gorgeous spot, with everything you need for easy living and a restful holiday. The safe softly sloping sandy beach goes on for ever, the sunrises are spectacular and Sealbourne offers more than the comforts I have at home. It's good for a "girls' gathering" or an all-age family get-together with 2 bedrooms on the main floor for those less inclined to do stairs. An added bonus is the neighbourhood--great food and crafts shopping in Qualicum Beach, goats on the roof at Coombs, Cathedral Grove, the funky ferry to Lasqueti, hikes and waterfalls and giant trees etc. But unless you are very energetic, you need a car. Those not wanting to drive could take the train or bus, and then go grocery shopping and take a taxi to the house.

Very comfortable house, amazing location, right on the beach. This is very much an informal beach house not a ritzy home, but has all the creature comforts you need, including jacuzzi on the (huge) deck, great garden, games (outdoor table tennis), kayak, good BBQ, etc. etc.open plan living and dining area and comfortable if modest bedrooms. Very private as in a cul-de-sac. If like me you are from Europe and you want to swim in sheltered warm waters, you are not used to seeing eagles, dolphins, seals, and whales within yards of your own back yard or paddling in a kayak, and you want to this is for you!!!

What a wonderful place.
Like stepping through a door from the everyday rat race into a magical world of peace and natural beauty. Certainly a place to catch your breath and reconnect with yourself and family.
We were all so very sad to leave and shall forever have treasured memories or our time at Sealbourne.

We visited to be nearby a relative for a family birthday. The accommodation was very comfortable and combined a nice sense of the rustic with the luxurious. The setting is astounding, the beach, the mountains poking jauntily out from the horizon, the seals...

Sealbourne is a home away from home - an exceptionally comfortable house with stunning deck right on the beach. Kayaking among the seals, swimming, playing bocce and table tennis make it an ideal location for families, and the wide range of excursions, hiking, salmon fishing and whale watching within easy reach make Sealbourne a great base for an extended holiday. This was my second visit and I'll be back again!

Stayed here with children and extended family and had a brilliant time. The location is absolutely perfect - amazing views - eagles soaring overhead and seals playing out in the water. Everything is on your doorstep. You can even kayak from your backyard and when the tide is out you can play games on the beach. Kids will love it. Great location for walks/hikes or a trip to Tofino and Campbell River. Sealbourne is a home away from home. We will be back for sure.

Incredible property and location. The house is well equipped and directly on the beach with the bonus of a jacuzzi and excellent deck area. The views are stunning and the emotion of spotting the first seal indescribable. We made several trips on the island and found Sealbourne an ideal vacation base. I have now made 2 trips to Sealbourne and can highly recommend it.

My partner & I stayed here for a gorgeous week -- and loved it. Long baths & hot tubs overlooking the ocean, sunset champagne with a campfire, sunrise kayaking with seals - we were almost laughing at how ridiculously romantic and perfect the setting was, like we were in a mushy Hallmark movie. The house was well equipped, the bed comfortable, the fireplaces cozy for cuddling in front of. Lots of privacy if you wanted it, friendly neighbors & little village if you want to venture out.

I stayed at Sealbourne with my wife for a week. We had a fantastically relaxing time. The key highlights for us were:
- the ability to step right on to the beach and then walk for miles
- the panoramic views from the master bedroom
- the eagles landing right on the deck to feed
- the comfortable living and sleeping areas
Sealbourne is well located for trips to Tofino and Campbell River. It is also conveniently located close to Qualicum Beach amenities. We also enjoyed several day trips hiking close by.
