HalifaxAwesome march break!
Left on 03/21/2013 for a stay in March 2013
We had a wonderful time at Beautiful Lac Nantal spending a few days of our kids' March break there, skiing at Mt Blanc and Mt Tremblant as well as cross country skiing in the area. The cottage is cozy and spacious, the view gorgeous and it was close enough to all the amenities we needed. There were seven of us in total (four adults and three kids) and it felt like there was more than enough space for us. Highly recommend.

Left on 02/07/2013 for a stay in February 2013
This is our 2nd time being in the cottage in 3 years and we greatly appreciate the beautiful place.
Very spacious chalet that sleeps 8 comfortably with TV, internet access, fully equipped kitchen with everything we need.
It was easy to find the place, nice view over the lake (I would imagine it would be really nice in the summer).
The chalet is a little far (20-25 minutes away) from the skii hill but it was straight forward highway drive.
Ps did I mention the jacuzzi? :) -

Ottawa, CanadaUtter Serenity
Left on 01/30/2013 for a stay in January 2013
This is a perfectly wonderful chalet for a get-away involving peace and serenity. Don't get me wrong, it's nice and close to all the essential stores, restaurants and tourist attractions. But it's just secluded enough to offer complete and utter silence and serenity when desired. The chalet itself is beautiful, spacious, well laid out and full equipped. It's all you need for an ideal get-away.

OttawaA wonderful winter vacation for our family.
Left on 01/24/2013 for a stay in December 2012
This is the second year we have stayed at the chalet and enjoyed skiing at Mont Tremblant & Mont Blanc and the Domaine St. Bernard. The cottage has parking for several cars and feels secluded while being close to neighbours. The bathrooms are large, and the open area on the main floor is perfect for loungeing playing games.

Left on 07/30/2012 for a stay in July 2012
The chalet was very clean and comfortable. It was homey and welcoming. The location was great. Beautiful scenery...the lake is picturesque. The golf courses are challenging and nearby. St. Jovite is a lovely little town with true Quebec charm. There are many restaurants right on the main street. And it's only a 5 minute drive. I really liked the open space on the main floor. We were able to easily accommodate 8 people for sit down dinners.

Nous y reviendrons !Response from Paul & Sarah - 09/06/2012

Ottawa, OntarioA beautiful cottage in a beautiful setting!
Left on 02/24/2012 for a stay in February 2012
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful, cozy cottage. It is fully equipped, very clean and welcoming. We were two families and one family used the upper level bedrooms and bathroom while the other family used the lower bedroom and bathroom which was great as it gave each family their own space. The cottage and area have a peaceful and tranquil feel and although we can see from the guest book there have been many guests, the cottage does not have a worn out feel rather a comfortable, whimsical feel. We really enjoyed the special touches - fresh, clean and soft linens and towels, bottle of wine with a nice welcoming note, a binder full of information about the cottage and surrounding area. They thought of everything. It it a very special place and our families created many great memories. We will definitely be back.

Ottawa, ONA Winter Wonderland
Left on 01/06/2012 for a stay in December 2011
We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this homey chalet. The main floor was great for preparing a meal, or sitting and chatting with friends and family. My husband and I stayed in the large room on the lower floor which allowed the younger members of our family to stay up later without disturbing us. We enjoyed the ambiance of Mont Tremblant and the closeness of Mont Blanc for our outdoor activities.
The whirlpool was a welcome amenity after a day of skiing.Response from Paul & Sarah - 02/22/2012

OttawaLovely cottage, lake & view; however, service is lacking
Left on 07/16/2011 for a stay in July 2011
Our group had an enjoyable week at the cottage, but we found too many of the amenities paid for were lacking including the dishwasher, the oven, jacuzzi and a number of hospitality details.
The previous guests had left a note indicating the oven was not working. As we were 10-people with meals planned which required an over, we called the number listed for maintenance immediately upon arrival, but never got a call back. A day later, we contacted the owner at which point we were advised the oven was not broken, but in fact just "finicky". She provided instruction to turn the timer dial to the left and we did get it working for the rest of the week, but there was a lot of frustration over the lack of response and communication concerning this issue.
The dishwasher was also in need of maintenance and several light bulbs were burnt out in the basement rooms. The basement pull-out couch sags and is probably more suitable for children. The hot water tank didn't hold enough hot water to fill the Jacuzzi - we tried twice. When we told the owner, she just indicated she would replace the dishwasher and oven for the next guests - let me know if she does as this was her reply to all of our feedback.
Better communication and more hospitality would definitely have made our stay substantially more pleasant.
On the positive side, the cottage really is cozy & beautiful. I loved the richness of the wood used for the cottage and the upstairs bedrooms are comfy and nicely decorated. The lake is incredibly peaceful (no motor boats) and we got wonderful pictures of the resident Loons. Towards the end of the day when the wind dies down, the water is so still it resembles glass.Response from Paul & Sarah - 08/10/2011
Owner
We are glad you enjoyed your time at the chalet, and regret that there were some issues with the stove and dishwasher. We have replaced these appliances. We will also work on getting a larger hot water tank.
We now have a new cleaning staff, and all of the light bulbs have been replaced.
Thank you for your honest feedback and for helping us improve this beautiful chalet for future guests! -

Our party loved Lac Nantel! The cottage is just what a cottage should be- a beautiful wood interior and cozy. There is lots of room and it's nice to have 3 separate levels. The lake and view from the deck are the best parts! We had a great time swimming, canoeing and paddlle boating. We will be back for sure!

Everything about this chalet is great! Its location, comfort and cleanliness, price, the activities that are available (swimming, boating, hiking), the fact that it's fully equipped and that it just feels welcoming. OttawaGreat place for amazing memories!
Left on 03/23/2011 for a stay in March 2011
The home and scenery were breathtaking, what a great place to be the night of the 'big moon'! We were very satisfied with the accomadations, all 10 of us were quite comfortable/cozy without feeling like we were all over each other. There was one cupboard we found broken, otherwise everything was in working order. Only big complaint was the trek to Tremblant Village, as we thought it would have been closer by the review. But that was rectified and we had a great time... Can't wait to do it all again! Thank you Paul and Sarah!
Response from Paul & Sarah - 08/10/2011
Owner
Thank you for your post and for visiting our chalet. It does take about 15 minutes to drive to the Tremblant village, but it's a nice drive, don't you think? We chose this chalet because it's away from the hustle and bustle, in a quiet, relaxing location by the lake - yet it's only 5 minutes from Mont Blanc ski resort and 15 minutes from Tremblant.
We hope to have you back for your next vacation! -

Left on 12/18/2010 for a stay in June 2010
We went to spend an extra long week-end away from the city and although both Mont Tremblant and St. Adele are 12 minutes away on either side, being on the lake, you would never guess you were near civilization. The lake has a motor less policy, the water is so clean, there are great walks to take and it's always cool enough at night to sleep. We loved to sit by the outside fire at night and look at the stars. We had a wonderful, nature filled and relaxing time.

Ottawa, OntarioA perfect spot on a beautiful quiet lake, yet so close to it all!
Left on 12/18/2010 for a stay in August 2010
Our family had a wonderful reunion last summer, thoroughly enjoying the wonderfully tranquil lake along with the canoe and paddle boats with our teenaged boys, parents and my brothers small children.. The campfire was enjoyed every evening for winding down and roasting marshmellows. We ventured out everyday to enjoy golfing, wonderful spas, great restaurants, shopping in St. Jovite and renting bikes in Mont Tremblant. It's a marvelous area with no shortage of activities for adventurers of any age. The lower area was perfect for the younger family who had a space to themselves, while the rooms upstairs were spacious and nicely decorated. I'm sure it is wonderful in the winter with the lovely stone fireplace. We are looking forward to going back with the little ones when there is a gate to the staircase leading down to the lake. The deck is a wonderful spot to relax while gaizing out at the lake.
