      Fabulous accommodation in excellent location

Left on 05/21/2013 for a stay in April 2013

This is a most appealing property. The pictures do not lie. The renovated condos are beautiful, and everything is just a short walk away. We went with two grandchildren, and had specifically requested 2 separate beds for the kids, but they had a double. Then the TV wasn't working properly - the colour was way off and everything was yellow. We reported it, but although Ed came to look at it, he couldn't fix it. A minor complaint, but annoying.
In spite of these problems, I would not hesitate to recommend these condos. You really move in and it is home. The Metro is close if you want to eat in, or there are many great restaurants within walking distance, including a charming cafe right downstairs.

Old Quebec City with Style, Modern Comforts, and a View

Left on 11/04/2012 for a stay in October 2012

6 of us stayed in the 2nd floor, Champlain Condo.for 4 nights. Ed Sweeney did and excellent job getting us established. The unit is large, airy, and clean. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are modern, and the kitchen is well equipped. The condo's main windows look out onto the St. Laurence Seaway which provides an interesting view of cruise and cargo ships.
The condo is very well located within the lower section of Old Quebec. There is much to see nearby and the upper town is just a short walk (or funiculaire ride) uphill.
There is a new cafe on the first floor which makes a good latte.

      Great location amazing property

Left on 09/03/2012 for a stay in August 2012

We absolutely loved this condo. It was incredibly spacious and well equipped. Located in the best possible place in the Old City. Our teenage girls felt very comfortable shopping and walking around on their own. Ed the property manager was extremely helpful and knew lots about local events. Two days we ventured out of the city by car and our location made it easy to get in and out of the city. Everyone had thier own space with the two bedrooms and a sectional couch perfect for lounging. The Farmer's Market and the free Cirque du Soliel show were highlights. Our girls went to the paid Cirque and it was easy to get tickets online the day before the show and easy to walk to and from the venue.

Wonderful Hosts - immaculately presented apartment

Left on 08/28/2012 for a stay in June 2012

Don't hesitate to book your stay here. This place beats a hotel room - location is great - right next to the Old Town - with water views.
Great restaurants surround this location - I think the cities top 5 are within 3 mins walk from here.
The bathroom, kitchen and furnishings were all immaculately maintained.
We booked here for just ourselves - a couple - but this would be best suited to a family - given how large it is.
We did not really use the kitchen facilities - but they would again be ideal for a family who likes to cook and eat in.
Very neatly presented - as new and as shown in the images.

Left on 08/02/2012 for a stay in July 2012

We were 2 couples and 2 teenagers and it was great to have a place to hang out. The teens liked the free wifi and the adults liked having a place to hang out together. The view was great and the location was fantastic for exploring everything on foot. Free convenient parking. The property manager Ed Sweeney was friendly and helpful and had great advice on restaurants too. Highly recommend it. (This condo had 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. The kids slept on the pullout sofa and couch in the living room.)

Left on 07/20/2012 for a stay in July 2012

If you are looking for first class, five star accommodations, look no further. This beautifully decorated, former factory/warehouse exceeded every one of our expectations. I booked the condo online, talked to the property managers, Ed and Carol, and hoped for the best. We were met by Ed who gave us keys and gave us an overview of the condo and information on local attractions. We were "blown away" with the accommodations and with all of the information Ed gave us. Also, we were not aware that there was a Music Festival in Quebec during our visit. Ed was able to get us 4 passes to the"Bon Jovi" concert. We could not have had a better visit and have told all of our friends that if they visit Quebec City they must stay here. Thank you Ed and Carol for a perfect stay in Quebec City.

When people from "Joi...seeey" show up in my town at the same time as Bon Jovi.....they are getting in to see that concert one way or another.
It was a pleasure being able to host you and the girls for your trip to Quebec. 80 000 people on the Plains of Abraham and I think I could pick out your girls in the middle of the crowd screaming and singing along!!
Look forward to serving you in the future.

Where do I start with the positives of this awesome property. Firstly Ed is wonderful, very friendly, helpful and willing to cater to your needs. The location is brilliant in the old city, close to great sites of Old Quebec. The view of the St Lawrence River is a bonus. The condo penthouse Dalhousie is so spacious, with it's 3 extra large bedrooms, 3 beautifully designed bathrooms, well equipped laundry with large washer and dryer and spacious lounge room with ample comfortable lounge chairs that fit the 7 occupants traveling together. The kitchen was well equipped with all necessities for cooking a meal at home. Overall our stay of 4 nights made our stay in Quebec remarkable. Thankyou Ed.

One of the best vacation experiences we have ever had in a beaut

Left on 12/04/2011 for a stay in September 2011

My husband & I celebrated our 25th anniversary in September of 2011, and were searching for a really special place to visit that would be unlike anywhere we had ever traveled. We found our "magical" place at Royal Dalhousie and Old Quebec City!! Friends of ours had visited Quebec City several times, and recommended I research the area. We have used Trip advisor in the past along with Vrbo so that is where I started. From the minute I saw Royal Dalhousie, I felt drawn to this gorgeous property. I started by contacting the manager, Ed Sweeney, who had the task of answering what I would call my relentless barrage of questions about a place we had never visited. We have never been to Europe, and was told Quebec City was as close as we would get to the "feel" of Europe without the "overwhelming" details of not wanting to tour on a daily basis from place to place. We wanted a "home" base from which we could return each day to relax and enjoy the City, and each other, and that is exactly what we got!!! From the moment we entered the building, and opened the door to our unit called "Frontenac" we were thrilled. The condo with its sweeping views, floor to ceiling wrap-around windows which we could open and hear the sounds, and view this gorgeous city. The building directly overlooks the St. Lawrence river where the cruise ships would dock and depart on different days. The condo was so large, furnished beautifully, wonderful kitchen facilities with everything you could possibly need if you just wanted to eat in which we did several times. A full size washer and dryer is also there if your need one .The building was very secure and could only be accessed by its guests. We visited the nearby "farmer's market" where we purchased some of the most wonderful cheeses we have ever tasted along with fruits and vegetables, and a short distance from there is the wine & spirits store with a huge selection from which to choose. You could just walk across the street and watch these majestic vessels, as they would depart. We also made several trips to the rooftop for an incredible view of the area. Did I say walk, yes, indeed, that is all you really need do when visiting. We only moved our car one day during the entire stay to visit the ile d'Orleans which was 15 minutes aways and absolutely worth visiting. We also visited the Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupre' shrine, and also the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity. Everything you need or want to see is within walking distance, including the beautiful famous Chateau deFrontenac. Some of our favorite restaurants were the Le Buffet De L'Antiquaire where we dined twice, once for breakfast, and once again for lunch. It is very reasonably price, and the food was absolutely delicious, and everyone was so friendly. The weather was even warm enough for us to enjoy most of our meals "al fresco" which we loved. For our 25th anniversary dinner we ate at Panache, one of the most beautiful restaurants we have been to along with a menu that although was $$$ it was worth every penny for our special day, and the staff treated us beautifully, from beginning to end with our beautiful dessert created with an edible chocolate anniversary card! A couple of others we thoroughly enjoyed were 49 1/2, La Petite Italie, where we once again dined outside each enjoying a different pizza, spag & tini, & Le Cochon Dingue, for great ribs. The shopping is wonderful, as I love antique shops, and a few doors down from the wonderful museum was a local "deli" type store with wonderful sandwiches made to order.

We met Ed & his lovely wife, Carol and even spent some time celebrating with them, in our condo one evening, and learning more about the area. We only wish we could have seen them again, but they were headed off towards a much needed vacation of their own. The owners of the building were lovely people also, and some of the other "residents" we met were so much fun, and we shared different stories of where we were all lived. We can't say enough about our wonderful anniversary except that I would love to return and do it all over again. Thanks so much for all you did for us! Lynda and Michael Z. ,West Chester, pa

A great location for a great occasion

Left on 10/04/2011 for a stay in September 2011

We came to Quebec City to attend a wedding and shared the condo with the bride's mother. The accommodation was so spacious that a pre-wedding reception was held there with ample space for over 30 guests.
The condo is well fitted out to self cater if required and there are also some excellent restaurants within a short walk.
This is a great location to see the old city and the funicular nearby takes visitors up to the Chateux Frontenac and the breath taking site of the mighty St. Laurence river which is also overlooked from the condo at ground level.

We were traveling with our 19 & 22 year old sons and this apartment let us spread out. We would be sightseeing all day and could relax together in the evenings. It was well appointed and we enjoyed having breakfast in each morning. It has a great view of the St. Lawrence river and is walking distance to restaurants, sights, etc in the Old City. It is a little high priced but since we were able to drive, we splurged on our accommodations.

      Surpassed Our High Expectations

Left on 12/28/2010 for a stay in December 2010

My husband and I wanted to treat his mother to a really special trip. We wanted to give her a taste of Europe without the flight hassles, so we chose beautiful Quebec City as our destination. Since we needed 2 bedrooms, this condo seemed like an ideal place to stay. If it was even half as lovely as the photos and reviews indicated, we would have been pleased.

Well, it was even nicer than we expected. We were in the smallest of all of the units (the Cartier), and it was still huge – and simply stunning. Everything was first class, from the appliances to the furniture to the artwork on the walls. We loved the wall of windows overlooking the St. Lawrence. Well, we loved everything about this gorgeous place. Ed was also kind enough to show us the other 3 available units in the building, and they were all magnificent, too.

Given the classy environment, the spaciousness of the condo, and the excellent location, I can’t imagine staying any place else when visiting Quebec City. We’re certainly glad we chose it this time – Mom felt like a Queen in her luxury condo!

I am not sure what I enjoyed more, the booking process listening to your husband negotiate your rental to make sure it would be a special place for a special person (mom) or the look on your faces when you came into the condo and saw that it was the perfect place. We are glad to have been a part of this special trip and we wish you the best in the New Year.

      Fabulous Visit to Quebec City

Left on 10/14/2010 for a stay in October 2010

We have used vrbo in the past but this is by far the nicest condo we have ever stayed in. Our son's wedding ceremony was nearby in Place Royale just a block away from this spacious condo with a stunning view of the St. Lawrence. The bride's parents were in the condo one floor below and we were able to accommodate all the guests for a reception and dance right there in the building. How perfect! Restaurants and galleries were located within easy walking distance. We had a couple of rainy days and appreciated the umbrella left for us. The care and attention that has gone into the renovation of this building is second to none. Ed and Carol made sure we had everything we needed and were always available in case we had any questions or concerns. We hope your kids enjoyed the leftover wedding cake.

The check-in was flawless... the assistance superb and even the help with the luggage by Ed and his kids was unexpected and greatly appreciated.. The views are just wonderful and the proximity to all the attractions makes this an a #1 place to be. This place is top notch all the way.

Beautifully decorated and lavish in size.. this condo was perfect for us and should be for anyone else. The waterfront.. the market... the warm people ... all make this city and this condo a memorable part of our lives. Here's to The Royal Dalhousie... and Quebec City.. And Ed and Carol Sweeney

We have stayed in Quebec Cite several times so we knew immediately that the location of the Royal Dalhousie apartments was perfect for walking and dining in this lovely old town. Ed Sweeney responded quickly to our questions on the phone and was at his office in the same building if we had more questions. And by the way, his English is perfect.

We have stayed in two of the apartments. They are beautiful, even better than the photos he displays at this site. And they are spotless as well as very comfortable. Wow is used correctly for these dwellings.

Being new in the tourism rentals I knew that seasoned travellers like the Goodnow would be a good test of the quality and service we provide here in Quebec City. She was very gracious with her suggestions and we look forward to serving them in the near future.
