What Past Guests Are Saying
Overall, it was a great experience.
The title says it all. From start to finish, the experience was better than expected. The owner/manager was very accommodating, and we were able to work out an agreement that worked well for all of us. I traveled with 3 other adults and my 3yr old godson, with all of us staying in the city for 5 days. The house was probably roomier than I expected, and the furnishings we're nice. My bed was comfortable, and each room had an aC unit, which was ideal for the heat. I did really like that it has hardwood flooring and not carpet.
The kitchen had everything we needed, and the washer/dryer meant I didn't have so much laundry to do when I got back to atlanta! Everything we needed was there - laundry detergent, paper towels, plenty of towels, dishes, trash bags, even umbrellas in the front closet! Both patios were nice, particularly since we did have a couple smokers in the group. Lastly, there was a parking spot in the short driveway (much better than curbside parking). In all, it was actually quite roomy and everything was in great shape.
The neighborhood, I really enjoyed. Very diverse, a lot more people out and about than your typical atlanta neighborhood. There are several bakeries and restaurants nearby. We took advantage of a decent little breakfast spot, a Greek place that was only a minute or two past the train station, and a Brazilian burger joint a few blocks further than that. In about a three block circle there are several places to eat, two small convenience stores, a gas station, a couple liquor stores, and atm's. The walk to the NQR station took about 5-10 minutes.
What I liked the most? It's hard for me to pick one thing. Working with the owner (Mark) was really easy. The house was great, and I liked the neighborhood. What I liked the least? I don't really have an answer for that. Maybe, there could have been more pillows on my bed? I mean, I usually sleep with six, and there were only four (sarcasm). In reality, I've no complaints.
Excellent & Affordable and just a step away from NYC!
We had a group of 4 adults and one toddler stay here for 4 nights in July and enjoyed it a lot. Mark is easy to deal with and very helpful. The apartment was in a neighborhood in astoria with a lot of great restaurants and a short walk to the subway station. The apartment was very modern, all 3 bedrooms spacious and comfortable. Kitchen was stocked with everything you needed. Had a great front porch to sit out in the evening. Would definitely recommend.
