Muna Moke (Hermit’s Secret in Maori) will truly be one of your most treasured secrets. Set amidst acres of pine tree forest in the most private and tranquil position in Queenstown.
The homestead is situated just outside the tourist township of Queenstown, a 10 minute lakeside drive on the road to Glenorchy. Every room at Muna Moke enjoys breathtaking views of Lake Wakatipu, nestled amongst the famous Walter Peak, Cecil Peak, Remarkables and Mount Nicholas, and not a trace of civilisation to be seen.
The distinctive style of Muna Moke was inspired by the Earnslaw Steamboat.... You feel caught in time as the old lady of the lake makes her daily passage to Walter Peak Station. Sit back, unwind and lose yourself in the timelessness of your surroundings.
Muna Moke offers absolute comfort with its underfloor heating, open log fire place, floor to ceiling windows, fully equipped gourmet kitchen and a bath with views that are simply intoxicating.
Featuring three separate sleeping quarters with queen size bed in the downstairs main bedroom, four-poster king size bed in the spacious loft and the option of two king singles or a queen size bed in the third bedroom. Also provided are TV/video, stereo, telephone, courtyard gas BBQ and laundry.
The deck holds the sweetest secret of Muna Moke as it is the viewing platform of the birth of each glorious day rising over the Remarkables. Bid the day adieu with a raise of your glass as it sets over Mount Nicholas. You are on the edge of the world.
If you do break away from the enchantment of Muna Moke the distractions in and around Queenstown are endless; cast a fly, shoot the rapids, tramp the bush, carve some powder or linger in a winery……

Staying at Muna Moke during our family holiday was incredible. The house has a very unique architecture. From the dining area, lounge room, huge deck and bedrooms we saw breathtaking views of the lake and the mountains. We always had a good night's sleep because of the comfortable beds in every room. With the holiday we just had, we were invigorated. Thank you so much. We will recommend the property to our friends.
