BedfordExcellent property in an excellent location
Left on 06/07/2011 for a stay in October 2010
We wanted somewhere as a base to tour this part of France and this property proved ideal. The house is well equipped, very clean and tidy and located on the outskirts of this very typical French rural town. All necessary amenities are within an easy walk. The area is simply stunning and very well worth a visit. There is loads of outdoor activities on your doorstep - skiing, treking, walking, biking, rafting, wine tasting etc in stunning scenary or you can simply tour around and enjoys the sights of this fascinating region. The property is about 45 mins away from Perpignan or Carcassonne but also reachable from Barcelona and others. Ken, the owner, is easily contactable by email or phone and will do anything he can to help you enjoy your stay.

We really enjoyed our stay the house it was very comfortable and we really enjoyed our barbeques in the evenings sitting out in the garden. The bikes came in handy for the odd quick dip in the river and exploring around town. The town had everything we needed and was really lovely. We really only tried one restaurant down by the river and it was good food and very resonably priced so we kept going back we tried the lunch, breakfast and the evening meal. The kids loved the climbing park just outside town and we all loved our days by the lakes in arque and Puivert.

IrelandThe house was ideal for us really comfortable and great location
Left on 03/08/2011 for a stay in July 2010
The information before we arrived was excellent and the little tips and recommendations really helped us have a great holiday. The house had everything we needed and was very comfortable and the computer with Internet access was an added bonus, letting the kids keep in contact with their friends at home and researching in advance each days adventure. The bakery on the main square in Quillan was fantastic we made it there most days for our croissants and pastries. We only tried Le Palace and Capio restaurants but both got the thumbs up from the kids and adults. We all really enjoyed our stay in Quillan and the kids say it was the best family holiday ever. We never got the time to try the public swimming pool but the lake at Puivert was fantastic and the rafting at the forge was the highlight for the kids. We hope to get back again this year and explore some of the castles and other lakes in the area.

BedfordExcellent value, excellent base for a variety of holidays
Left on 03/02/2011 for a stay in October 2010
This is a comfortable, well maintained, spotlessly clean house located in a very quiet residential area. The property is comfortable with high speed internet and multi channel/language tv all included. There are also a plentiful supply of leaflets/day trip ideas to ensure you get the most from your trip. The kitchen is good with everything you need. The house is situated a short walk away from the town - very convenient for the essential breakfast pastries. There are a number of shops/restaurants/bars within a very easy walk.
The area itself is ideal for a visit - stunning scenary, excellent skiing, a wide variety of fascinating historic sites and brilliant traditional markets within a short drive. The cities of Perpignan and Carcassonne are about a 45 min drive away and both well worth a visit especially La Cite - the medieval city beside Carcassonne. Quillan is an ideal centre to explore the whole Pays Cathare region. It is also an excellent centre for walking, cycling, rafting, skiing, kayaying or simply enjoying a very relaxed, easy going region of France. Quillan is also ideally situated for wine lovers with a host of well known types in the area and loads of vineyard visits an option.
We loved our week in Quillan and will certainly return to this property and the area.
