Description

This spacious town house is in the old town centre of Quillan. It has four double bedrooms and an extra salon. The 4th bedroom is in the attic and is limited in height; in summer with high temperatures it can get a bit hot . The house has every convenience, incl. 3 bathrooms and toilets. The charming Place de la Republique and the historic bridge over the River Aude are around the corner. Quillan is a small market town on the River Aude and is known locally as the 'Gateway to the Pyrenees' It is in the heart of Cathar country and an ideal base to explore this rich and varied landscape. The nearest ski resort is just 32km away and the coast just over an hour. The town has all amenities, open air pool, water sports, and lots of restaurants, cafes and bars. There are twice weekly markets (Wed, Sat) and during July and August there should be an evening craft market (Thu) From July until the end of August there are Fetes and weekend entertainment with music on the nearby Place de la République. These activities can be a bit noisy and may last to the late evening or early night....

The grassy banks of the river Aude are just 50 meters away and accessible for the public.

“Wonderful rental!”

A wonderful property in the centre of Quillan. Exactly as advertised. Owner was very easy to communicate with, as was property manager for arrival and departure. The property was well stocked with the needed implements for our stay and everything was in good working order. Storage room behind main floor dining table easily fit 3 bicycles and this was a great convenience for our cycling holiday. The property is one building from the towns centre square with bar and restaurants, Wednesday and Saturday markets, and there are also very good restaurants just another few blocks away in the Hotels Cartier and Chaumiere.

A lovely place. Very comfortable. Was nice to have all the necessary linen, cookware, and wifi available. Plus having video on demand was great.
